Chicken Cashew Nuts
William R.

This is a small Thai restaurant in Wakefield that is still only set up for takeout. I ordered over the phone and they pointed out that they have a 10% cash discount, which is a nice deal. When I showed up to pay and get my order, I noticed that they had what looked like a pallet of coconut milk and fish sauce, and the two people behind the counter were conversing in what sounded to me like Thai. All good signs. The food was piping hot and packed up to not spill in the bag. When I got it home, the cashew chicken tasted fresh, including the proteins. I also sampled the pad see ew, and that was also good. The flavor profile tasted like traditional Thai, which I consider a good thing. I'm a bit picky about Thai food after living in Seattle and visiting Thailand, but I'm happy to report that this place is great.

Yellow Curry (chicken)

I have been craving authentic tasting Thai food for months. I travel all over the country for work and have been consistently let down, until now. I ordered the chicken satay, yellow curry and a Thai tea. My order was to go and even with all my additional requests due to food allergies, everything was exactly as I ordered it. The food is delicious!! The portions are excellent! And one very important factor that often is missed, the "to go" packaging was well executed to ensure no mess. Thank you!!

Drunken noodles (shrimp substituted for chicken ) - photo after eaten 1/1 the order!

Did take out from this restaurant for the 1st time , though living in Wakefield for 15 yrs. It was superb, fantastic, delicious, and would definitely recommend. Ordered the drunken noodles and substituted chicken for shrimp for an additional $4, well worth it. Dish was large, full of spicy tasty noodles and shrimp. Enough for at least 2-3 people. Husband ordered sesame chicken which he loved, staff was very friendly, ordered on phone , 25 min to be ready. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to trying other dishes Drunken Noodles

Great food. Busy place. Be prepared to wait an hour after placing your order to pick up. So worth it though!

The restaurant is one of the more modern decorated Vietnamese restaurants compared to traditional mom and pop's Vietnamese restaurants that I am used to. I appreciate the vietbamese street scene mural that they have going and I appreciate their effort and attention to detail. For appetizer, we ordered the Vietnamese fish sauce fried chicken wings. It was very good! This is a must! Sadly, they didn't have the betel leaves beef/pork skewer. I will have to come back another time. For entree, I ordered pho while my husband ordered the bun cha Ha Noi, and my kids shared the rice plate with pork chop and fried egg. My pho broth was very clear, and very light in flavor. It was very reminiscent of how my mother would make her pho, very subtle flavors and with wide pho rice noodles. Long's pho I would say is more akin to Northern Vietnamese pho so if you're looking for more salty and fragrant pho, this might not be for you. I love additional pickled vinegar garlic slices that are available at each table as well. I have never seen this at any Vietnamese restaurant in MA. The bun cha Ha Noi, the was good, but I would try something other next time. The rice plate we ordered had pork chops, fried eggs, and what was supposed to be pork skin, however, the pork skin was not up to standard so the owner replaced it with grilled chicken for us. Pork chops were a little over cooked. They are still very new. I think playing some music will help with the kitchen banter. Service was friendly and fast. Food came out at a very good pace. I feel like their drinks and appetizers menu might be the place to start if you're not adventurous. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. See my pictures!

We got there mid afternoon and the place was not busy. We greeted and seated almost immediately. It was a super pleasure to have Sandesh as a server and what a super nice and helpful man. Not only did he treat us well but also explained a lot about Nepali food and culture as we asked. He checked on us often as his way to make sure that everything was going well and if we had any questions. I learned that water buffalo(buff) is one of the favorite proteins in Nepal. We were informed that they get the meat from a farm in NY and that they like to keep to authentic flavors. For an appetizer we went for the buff pan fried momos. We had both spicy and non-spicy dipping sauces since I prefer non-spicy. I found the sauce delicious and the buff to be an interesting protein that I would try again. For my main course I went for the chicken thali after learning that it is one of their traditional meals. You get a little bit of everything including dessert - a delicious greek yogurt mixed with green cardamom and coconut. Our server mentioned that if we wanted anything extra (except for the protein) that they would be happy to bring it. We had tons of leftovers because we tried several dishes and asked if we could have more rice and they provided a complimentary container when our food was packed. Place is super clean and has beautiful Nepali decorations. Even your bill is brought in a wooden box with Nepali carvings. There was soft music playing in the background. We were curious about the hot pot tables but were informed that they were left by the previous restaurant but that they don't offer hot pot. The women's bathroom is cleverly decorated with Nepali scenes and has a beautiful authentic faucet. Our server informed us that on Wednesdays and Thursdays they offer what he described as Nepali street food. Selected dishes are $5 except for a a whole fried fish that is $10. We might have to check them out one of these days. An overall great and unique find!

The two of us ordered to share 干扁四季豆 spicy green beans ($15.95), 泡椒牛肉 / shredded beef w. pickled pepper ($19.95), and 水煮鱼片 braised fish fillets w. chili sauce ($17.95). The 幹扁四季豆, a regional classic, possessed impressive amounts of smoky 鍋氣 / wok-hei, melding disparate salty and savory flavors together. The pickled mustard offered crunchy texture contrast. The 泡椒牛肉 remained unchanged from my previous visit - a decent sauteed beef dish with a slight hint of spice and slight acidity to contrast other, heavier dishes. The 水煮鱼片 proved underwhelming. The braising liquid only imparted slight amounts of spicy, as evidenced by its brackish color. It imparted equally little flavors - the fragrance of chili oil and sharpness of peppercorn seemed notably absent. Overall, I would still return to Sei Bar. I know to skip the 水煮鱼片 next time.
