I never leave disappointed. Apologies in advance...I won't mention their names because I'm selfish & don't want them booked out when I need them;)! But not to worry, after years of attending this salon, I've seen the GORGEOUS results ALL of their team members are CONSISTENTLY producing. You want "REALLY GREAT HAIR"? Run, do not walk to this superior salon. You will not be disappointed....seriously people. Just do it.

Although Stephanie did my first balayage, I wanted to go lighter, and I've since seen Emily for toner, a hair cut and balayage. The salon is super welcoming and they're very good at accommodating your schedule. I've been able to book appointments online, and they make sure I've booked the appropriate service as their online booking can be a little confusing. You can also contact them through Instagram, which is really convenient for me. The balayage cost about $250 the first time, and around the same the second, with 2 toners, blow dry and about 4.5 hours of effort. It wasn't quite perfect when we finished, since there was a bang piece that I wanted to be dark instead of coloured, and Emily made sure I had an appointment booked so she could fix it (for free!). My hair is beautiful, and they've done such an amazing job. I've gotten so many compliments. The price is quite reasonable for the location and fantastic work, I would definitely recommend this salon for anyone looking to get their hair coloured! Thanks Emily!!

Terrible business etiquett and customer service…read more I came to the salon in hopes of a change. I brought pictures and discussed what I wanted with the stylist. I dont know if I did not explain it well enough but I ended up with orange hair and a horrible cut. I left the salon and thought maybe it will look better once I wash and style it myself. It did not change so I called the salon pretty upset. I spoke with the owner who said he wanted me to come back in to fix it. But at this point I'm traumatized by what happened the first time so I politely declined. I suggested a partial refund since I would be having to attend another salon to have it fixed. The owner said no refunds. Not only was I left completely unsatisfied but also put the cost of getting my hair fixed elsewhere now. I was very upset the salon was not even willing to provide a portion of the service to be refunded. If I went to a restaurant and was served under cooked chicken and the owner said oh well come back next time and we will try again. I would not go back there.

I want to start by saying Heads up has actually moved to 2100 Old Lakeshore Rd in Burlington…read more I bought what I thought was going to be a great deal off of Wagjag, a cut, full colour dye, and style. I also had a friend who had been to her vouch for her services; the address on the Wagjag seemed to constantly change, after our initial conversation I had sent her pictures through texts and also trying to book an appointment which went unanswered. I tried calling her over a period of time and there was no answer, her voicemail seemed to have disappeared from the day before. After some time she finally got in a hold of me and able to squeezed me in that night. When I went I was brought right in, she started lightening my hair then went back to her other customer. After she finished her customer she rinsed out my hair and left me in the wash basin while she started on her next customer to do her roots, I was left in the wash basin for a good 20 mins waiting. After I was brought back she applied the two colours that I wanted (red on the bottom and dark brown on the top). She rinsed the colour out then I again waited for her to finish the other client. When she came back I showed her the pictures of what I wanted done in the cut which she completely dismissed. She continued to blow dry my hair making sporadic cuts with the thinning sheers as she went. After she was done she used the straightening iron and made one or two more cuts but absolutely nowhere close to the layers and thinning that I wanted. I did like the colour and left less then satisfied with the cut but satisfied with the dye, this took over 3 hours because of the waiting and her trying to squeeze me in between her other clients obviously she didn't have time for me to do a thorough job, when I went to pay I was also charged an extra $10.00 because I do have thick and longer hair which I had no problem paying. When I got home I noticed that she hadn't washed my hair out completely and that there was soap still left in my hair. The next day I woke up and went to go brush my hair I noticed that I had quite a number of patches throughout that wasn't dye and the original colour was showing through, on the red portion near my ear there was also a piece that was orange and a little blonde that just needed a touch up. I took pictures and texted Jen and asked her if it was possible to come in on the Friday between 2:30 - 3 to have it fixed. She replied with one word "sure", so I got a ride in on Friday was there at 2:45pm, I texted her on my way so she knew when to expect me. I got there showed her, she wanted to put in a few foil quick fix the top portion of my hair which wouldn't correct the underneath. I told her no I wanted it completely fixed, her response was "well then I won't have time today and you are going to have to book an appointment", I was shocked because I thought that is what I did do with coming in today, as I previously told her all next week I was busy, she offered the week after, I replied that I will have to ask my family to see if they can drive me YET again, I said "I need this fixed am I supposed to walk around like this till then?" and she said "what do you want me to do" and proceeded to walk away back to her client, I walked out without getting my hair fixed. I texted her on the way home requesting a refund as I would not be coming back to get my hair fixed and it would be the appropriate thing to do as I am a dissatisfied client and didn't get what I paid for (even paid EXTRA) and even if it was a partial refund for the extra portion would have been better than nothing. She refused to refund me which I am not surprised and now I have to pay an ACTUAL professional and not a self-proclaimed HACK, so if anyone is thinking of going to Heads Up Salon I highly suggest you think twice and don't spend the money!!!!!!!

I have had my hair coloured many times, so I knew what to expect - I asked for an all over brunette hair colour and ended up with red, which I specifically told her I did not want. My head was left in the cold sink for 20-30mins sitting there and then my hair cut was uneven. I had to take scissors to loose ends when I got home. I had to end up paying $200 to get the colour evened out and my hair cut - the stylist said she'd never saw a professional dye someones hair so poorly and with so many different colours. She was a nice woman, but it wasn't worth the price I had to pay after to fix the mess that was done to my hair.

I am really not one to leave a bad review. But I am so absolutely shocked by my experience at this…read moresalon. I won 2 gift certificates to get my haircut with a specific stylist. I called to book an appointment but was so happy to find out they could squeeze me in that day. I also found out this stylist had 25 years of experience and has been there since they opened - so I felt confident she could do what I wanted. To start my hair was quite long with my roots (dirty blonde) having grown about 10cm out that then went into a light/copper orange colour. I asked for my hair to be cut my shoulders and to blend coppers with blonde throughout my hair. I showed the stylist a few pictures of the exact hair I wanted. (picture below) She then suggested I blend my natural colour into it as well. I was a little hesitant but I trusted her opinion. We had a few moments where she asked me of a specific colour or technique that I said no to. I did not want white blonde in my hair and I wanted it all blended "Naturally" or "evenly".During this time she bragged about how healthy my hair was (relevant later). During this process she dropped a massive blob of highlighter onto my jeans which then stained them. When we finally got to the end and she had rinsed my hair - I started to cry. There was white blonde streaks with a dark brown/black and also just maroon/red colour throughout. There was no resemblance to what I had asked for and the streaking was horrible. It was carelessly done and did not look good.(I've attached pictures). Another stylist tried to help by putting red toner on it which only made it pink. After this, I said I just wanted her to finish cutting (that part seemed to go well) and blow dry and then I wanted to leave. She insisted I come back in two weeks and she will fix my hair because it is so unhealthy and damaged that the colour didn't sit right. Which completely contradicts everything she said before. (Got my hair looked at by someone else and its healthy). She then insisted the dark colour was my natural hair colour... my hair is dirty blonde. She then tried to get me to come to the colour room where we can "fix this" she said. But at this point I was so upset that I wanted to leave. I didn't feel comfortable with her touching my hair again. So we went to the reception desk and it took me another 45 minutes to get out of there. There had been a miscommunication about me being able to use both my certificates (Which they had said I could in the morning). During this time the stylist had been giving me death stares and insisting she did nothing wrong. I said I would pay for the haircut but not the colour. I also didn't want to get it fixed because I felt so uncomfortable there. The real MVP at this salon is the young lady with the short curly red hair. It was getting intense with my stylist at the front desk when this young lady walked by. I asked for her to come over because I was feeling uncomfortable. The stylist started to raise her voice and be nasty to this other staff. But this young lady remained polite and stood up for herself. She then took over and helped me sort out paying. During this time the other stylist kept coming back to give me glares. I'm sorry to leave this review but really I am in shock at her behaviour.
