Tears...tears...tears...
My sister got her wedding dress from here 10 years ago and though she's not an emotional person, as soon as she put the dress on she burst into floods of tears. This set us all off; me, my mom and the ladies working there. We're coming here for my wedding dress I thought.
10 years later the same group of us arrived at Red Rose. It's a Tuesday morning and we're on the lookout for my perfect dress. The sales assistant came straight over and greeted us, asking all the relevant questions; When's the big day? Where's it being held? What kind of dress had I got in mind? Unfortunately it all went down hill from here.
I had a specific style and budget in mind and the look she gave me was utterly ridiculous. The excitement of looking for a dress just drained away from me. Because I didn't want a big puffy thing or an expensive couture dress she simply wasn't interested. She left us to have a look through some dresses and we made a speedy exit. She didn't blink an eyelid.
I would never have expected this kind of behaviour from an assistant in a wedding dress store. It shouldn't matter what I want but whether you can help me find it or not. To be judged in such a rude way and made to feel that my choices weren't to her liking was disgusting.
