The only person to see my wedding dress from the day it arrived to the actual big day was my mom…read more Unfortunately my mom lives quite far away from me so my mother-in-law to be (who lives a lot nearer) kindly offered to let me keep the dress at her house, with the promise that she wouldn't take a peek. All was going well until I realised the dress was fairly creased and I needed to get it steamed only 2 weeks before the big day! The ladies at Wedding Belles were brilliant. They totally understood my situation and promised to keep the dress under lock and key. As my mother-in-law elect lived so locally they even offered to collect and drop off the dress. As I was at work I had total faith in the ladies and my mother-in-law to be. They only had the dress for a couple of days and when they returned it they had added in a shape keeper for the top half of the dress (as it was an off the shoulder piece) and they had packed it so even the shape couldn't have been seen. I have already recommended a friend do the same for her dress and I say the same to you. They really did surpass my expectations and for a reasonable price too!

I was recruited to help with THE WEDDING DRESS!!! What a job, what a responsibility! I had no confidence in my ability whatsoever, what do I know about wedding dresses? My research began with a trip to Wedding Belles. Here, I met two fabulous ladies who immediately put me at ease with my task and convinced me rather than a punishment, this was a privilege. We set about the amazing selection of bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, tiara's, veils and so, SO much more. I had given myself an hour, just to make some initial enquiries, I was still there after two hours, I had become engrossed in bridal wear, even excited. This was due to the fabulous knowledge and customer service I received. I can't wait to go back with the bride to be.

Mairs are one of the exceptional stores on Soho Road for that Asian wedding and bridal attire…read more They always display the latest designs and the fashion you can't produce in the UK, they bring all the items over from all over Asia, which includes, India, Singapore and far out east. Popular, and occasionally you will find a great sale on, they also have some nice outfits for men. Certainly take friends and family with you on your visit here. Whatever colours you prefer they sell. I like how they speak lots of languages, and it's more convenient for my mothers generation who knows that she trusts what they're saying about their garments when she can speak to them in her own language. I'd recommend visiting the store, car parking is available nearby, and the shop is served with bus routes regularly from the city and West Bromwich. Quite busy on the weekends though.

Despite the fact I have not brought anything from here, I have tried one or two sherwanis from Mairs. Just wearing them felt good and the only thing that prevented me from buying them was price. I did ask if they could reduce the price by a small amount but they couldn't. What I will say is that the staff here are very friendly and will help you if you need it. They will happily answer your questions and offer you advice. I did find some sherwanis had way too much embroidery but I guess there are Asians out there that like Indian suits with plenty of sequins/embroidery. If Mairs did lower their prices then maybe I would buy a sherwani from here. As well as Menswear, there are Asian Ladieswear on sale here as well.

This shop reminds me of the Cash and Carry store in Leicester. I'm not someone who is a regular…read moreshopper but there are plenty of useful items people may want to purchase. From saris to god statues to kitchen utensils, these are some of the things you will find at Milans. Although there are some nice saris on sale, I'm not entirely sure whether future brides would buy saris from here. There are other shops on Soho Road that offer more in the way of bridal saris. And to be honest you will find better bridal saris elsewhere. Having said that the saris at Milans are good but not excellent and you might want to buy some saris from here anyway. That's just my view. I did like the god statues and I am into them. The majority are Hindu gods and they are well priced. I haven't actually brought any statues but I might just return here to do so. The shop is pretty clean as you would expect it to be and I may well come back to Milans in the near future.

They sell a good and varied selection of Asian clothing in here, and is the ideal visit if your shopping on Soho Rd. Everyone knows about this place and they have decent and reasonable prices. Over the years my family, especially my mother, have spent a small fortune in here buying Saree's and accessories that come in the most delightful of colours and fashions. It's nice how they've branched out to also include shawls, kitchenware, fashion accessories such as bindis, and items that you may need for religious worship. Overall a delightful store. Good prices, and they'll be surely missed if they were to ever leave.

While the initial purchase went smoothly, the alteration process was handled poorly, which…read moreultimately left me disappointed in my experience at Brides of Solihull. I purchased my gown in August 2024, and the alterations--specifically around the bust--were carried out between July and September 2025 by Barbara Aranguiz of Aranguiz London, as recommended by the shop. I picked up the dress on September 10 with the understanding that all alterations had been completed to the specifications agreed with Barbara, which included securely sewing in bra cups. However, I only discovered on the morning of my wedding that the cups had been merely tacked in rather than properly sewn, resulting in a noticeably gaping fit in person and in my photos. I returned to the shop on September 15, the first business day after my wedding, to address the issue. The process was frustrating--I felt brushed off by staff, particularly the manager and owner, who did not seem to take my concerns seriously or work to resolve the matter promptly. It took multiple calls and several visits before I finally received a refund for the alteration work. During this process, I spoke directly with Barbara, who acknowledged to me that the cups had not been sewn in properly. This situation caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and disappointment during what should have been a joyful and memorable time. Given the cost and significance of a wedding gown, I expected much better quality, professionalism, and care. I would strongly caution other brides to look elsewhere for alterations.

Not surprised since they're a bunch of pensioners doing this as a side gig and are being paid cash in hand. ALTERATIONS = DAMAGING of gorgeous dresses. The seamstress they are working with, Barbara, hasn't got a clue about anything. She is not even using a measuring tape... if you want to avoid VERY UNPLEASANT surprises with the most important item of your day don't go there. Every time I flagged a fault the reply was :"don't worry, babe, it gets sorted once pressed" there was simply no talking to her. Feel so gutted with the whole thing... my wedding is next week and I need to find a way to sort things out. What I bought as a £1500 brand new dress, now looks like something from a charity shop.
