Franklin County Funeral Home is now Red Rose Funeral Home. The reason for this change is simple: Red Rose Funeral Home better represents who we are and who we serve. The name Franklin County implies that we only serve Franklin County, and some have even questioned whether we are owned by the county, which we are not. Our new name comes from the simple gesture of love and respect we have provided since we opened. Every time a loved one comes into our service, a long-stemmed red rose is left for the family in remembrance of their family member.
Our reputation has grown, and now families from all over southern Idaho and northern Utah call on us to assist them in their time of need. They know that we provide the highest quality service at a much more affordable price than other funeral homes in the area.
I am so honored to be a part of this community and to be able to provide an affordable option for your funeral service needs. I have been in the funeral industry since 1986 and know how to manage the little details that make it a more positive experience for your family. We aim to serve our families with quality service, dignity, sincerity, honesty, and trust. When a family chooses to use our services, I wear that as a badge of honor, and I am committed to making the experience the best I can.
My staff and I pride ourselves on providing the best services possible to the families we serve. Knowing that we can make difficult times easier for families motivates us daily.

Todd Goodsell, a native of Cache Valley and who is the owner and Funeral Director started in the Funeral Industry in 1986, With many friends and family in the area, he heard some unsettling stories of how much families in Franklin County was paying for funeral services and in some cases how they were being treated, so he decided to return to Preston to offer an affordable alternative to current overpriced funeral providers in the area. From the inception of the business, he knew that he did not want this funeral home to be another stuffy grandma's parlor funeral home. Our building is different and fits the modern times. We are a full-service provider of traditional, modern and cremation services.
Meet the Business Owner: Todd G.
I was born and raised right here in Cache Valley on a family dairy farm, the oldest of five children. As a youth I believed that that would be my life calling, continuing in the dairy industry. That all changed in 1981, when as a very young man, my wife and I found out our first child was going to be twins, and within weeks of that glorious news, tragedy struck and the babies were delivered way too early. We lost our sons Steven and Travis just days after their birth. This was a life-changing event for any reason, but the most important was the experience of going through the arrangements and the funeral itself. My mother Sandra (Bowman) Goodsell a Cub River native called on Spencer Cranney another Preston boy and owner of the former Cranney Mortuary for help. My mother had known Spencer growing up and trusted him. For myself, I really knew very little about death and the funeral and grieving process at that time of my life. The closest I had come was attending the funeral of a couple
