I first came here on a Groupon voucher, but enjoyed it so much I've been back several times since. The main reason is that Ivy are great value for money, especially with their frequent offers. Every month a new email is sent out detailing the offers for that month, and it's worthwhile checking their Facebook page too. Most recently I had a 60 minute full body massage with Lana, and because she's new I got 40% off! And ohhh it was good. I absolutely love massages, and this was just as good as any other I've had before. My shoulders are still very knotty (though Lana really went at them) so I'll probably be back soon for another go. On their Tempting Tuesdays they do several popular treatments for only £20, including a 30 minute Swedish massage, so it's an affordable treat. I'm glad I found Ivy, especially given it's near my flat so absolutely perfect for popping into after work. If you live locally you should definitely give them a try too.

White Hollow Beauty offeres a range of treatments, from hair cuts, colours and styles, to massage, hari removal and beauty treatments; for women, men and children! At about eighty pounds for a ladies cut and colour, which is what I had, this place isn't the cheapest, but I think it gets away with charging city prices as the results are as desired. The decor puts the customer at ease (calming creams, yet stylish) and the outer paintwork makes for an attractive front. The only thing that I can question about this place are the 'Little Miss' treatments they offer for the under fourteens; mini facials and mini makeup...eh? Not convinced that sending my child for a mini makeover is the best idea, but it certainly does the job for me.

Recently I treated myself to a massage after suffering a tension headache for a few days, and was a little sceptical about how good it was going to be before I went along, as the charge was only £22 for 30 minutes. (Cheap compared to well known salons in the city centre where 30 minutes would be around £40-50). Stupidly I thought that the more money you spend, the better the treatment. How wrong I was! The room the treatment was in was beautifully decorated and smelt divine, with lovely relaxing music being piped through. The massage table was comfortable with a thick, snuggly duvet covering it, which had been pre-warmed somehow before I got into it. Before the massage even started I was already feeling less tense! Then the massage itself melted the knots in my shoulders and neck away leaving me so relaxed. I will definitely be going back in a couple of weeks for a repeat treatment, even if my back is fine, as the half hour of absolute relaxation and time on my own away from the darling kiddies was so reviving. (Wow, that's the name of the salon! A perfect description in my opinion!) And to know that the cost of such relaxation is half of the price you'd pay in a main stream salon makes it even better. For all new customers Revive does 20% off your first treatment, so there's an incentive to try it out. And there is also a loyalty card scheme for massage/facial treatments. I hope to fill mine up to get a free treatment down the line at some point!

SBL is owned and operated by Iram - who is great! So great in fact, I go about twice a month! (Iram used to work for a very popular/well known West End beauty boutique but decided to open her own business.) I regularly get my eyebrows threaded, manicures (shellac), and waxing done by Iram. For waxing (especially intimate waxing) - Iram is the best. She is so quick, makes it pain free, and is a perfectionist. She is also really keen to help you get into a routine to prevent any ingrown hairs and provides really good info on what to do at home and between treatments. My shallac manicures last at least two weeks and they rarely chip. (I usually get bored with the colour and get my manicure removed because my nails grow quickly!) I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for about 10 years and am super picky. Iram knows what is good for your face and adjusts the threading treatment appropriately. Iram also specialises in other beauty treatments, such as: eyelash extensions, eyelash tinting, make up application and spray on tans. One of things I really like is that SBL is text you receive a text a day before your treatment, which is a great reminder. I highly recommend Iram! (Just hope she doesn't get too busy now!)

So not that I am a stalker but she is that great! She is very professional but also very relaxed and friendly. That's why I wouldn't go anywhere else! From waxing to shellac (she has a huge range of colours) to Dermologica facials and products. Sharon will look after all your essential maintenance, as well as your luxury pampering. The Beauty Room is within The Hair Workshop on Dundee St and I also go to and highly recommend the hairdressers as well.
