I booked The Linden Suites through Booking.com and let me just say, if you are going to book with…read morethem, either book through their main website or call directly. For whatever reason, me and my partner were given the impression that they were not prepared for our arrival. We arrived at the scheduled 4PM check-in time, yet our room wasn't ready right away and it took more than an hour. While waiting in that hour, the receptionists/front desk employees showed no attentiveness or urgency to give us an update or status as to what's going on. We were told something like our reservation needs to be updated in their system.. I shouldn't have to be the one to approach each time to ask what's going on, like at least apologize for the wait, check on your guests, etc. I come up, to get an update, and they said housekeeping is preparing our room..? I just think they should remove their listing on Booking.com if they're not active in using them as a third-party site for booking reservations because it just appears to me they did not anticipate for our arrival at all.
My next complaint, for a "4 star hotel" their plumbing sucks. Couldn't even get hot water at times. Even the shower head isn't fully functioning, like somehow both shower head and faucet is on even though you just want to shower, not fill the tub. Plus somehow the showerhead water pressure is too strong, as if you're blasting yourself with a pressure washer; showering shouldn't hurt??
The breakfast buffet I'll give 3/5 because sometimes the food selection is really good, but it's hit or miss. Some days they serve food that's just mediocre or nothing impressive, like my boyfriend cooks better corned beef, how is this suppose to be a high-end hotel.
Another thing that doesn't make sense and made our stay unpleasant is their parking system. If we're staying at the hotel for 17 nights, I don't get why EVERY time we leave hotel parking, we have to get a new assigned parking spot upon our return. I don't understand why they don't just assign one spot indefinitely throughout our entire stay. Every time we leave hotel parking, we have to speak to the parking attendant and present our parking ticket each time, and almost every time, we have to get a different parking spot upon our return to the hotel parking. It's just annoying and unnecessary.
My final complaint is housekeeping entering our room without permission when the privacy light is on; my boyfriend was in the shower then heard someone knocking at our door. He put on shorts, but before he could head toward the door, housekeeping just helped herself to entering. When the privacy/do not disturb light is on.. And my boyfriend was shirtless, so of course she's surprised and reacts.. But yeah, why enter the room when the door message is already set to "privacy" and no one's answering the door.
Overall, I'll give this place 3 stars out of 5 at best because at least when ringing housekeeping or making requests, they've been very kind and attentive and the rooms are clean and impressive, especially when you book a deluxe suite with kitchenette and nice city view. However, I will not return to this hotel again.
