Red Panda is smorgasbord of food from the east and the west. When I came in I couldn't understand what they were actually trying to sell. On their menu, the first page was offering dimsum, but then the next two pages had a giant picture of Australian Rib Eye. What is going on?
As the waiter so kindly told me, "We have 5 branches all over Metro Manila. We specialize in both Eastern and Western dishes. Our head chef for eastern dishes is from Macau while our head chef for western dishes trained in the US." Ok. Got it. But because of so many choices, it still took me about 15 minutes before I could decide on what to order.
Finally, I decided to try shrimp dumplings (PHP 110), as it is always my benchmark for ascertaining whether or not a restaurant has good dimsum. Then I ordered the Lemongrass Roasted Chicken (PHP 330) and the Broccoli and Cauliflower Cheese Gratin. My sister tried their Beef Steak with egg and garlic rice.
I was really surprised when I pretty much liked everything and for the price! I thought the prices were very reasonable. I suppose the concept and the interiors threw me off, but I'd say that I'd go back. read more
