The staff, amenities and rooms were lovely and perfect for those wanting a true ski in/ski out experience. This was an all adult trip so I cannot speak to their programs for the kiddos but the ski school next door has several I am sure. They have snow shoes and other equipment free for hotel guests if you are interested, we only used their restaurant, room service and concierge services all of which were perfect and well priced. We are hoping to make it back this summer to enjoy this lovely in warmer weather and take advantage of their prime location for hike BC.

BEWARE, NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN!…read more My wife and I had an absolutely horrible stay at the Josie over Valentine's Day. We were here for a ski trip and checked into a one bedroom suite for 4 nights. The bathtub did not work our first night so we called the front desk and they said they would have maintenance look at it. No one ever came, and it still did not work the 2nd day. We again called and the same thing. They said maintenance would come fix it but no one ever came. The 3rd day it still did not work and we again called maintenance. Surprise, no one ever came. We also did not receive housekeeping on our first night. The Saunas do not work so don't waste your time booking them. The stay was so bad we checked out early and moved to a different hotel. Worst of all, the Josie didnt even give a refund for the night we didnt use despite being in a broken room with broken amenities. Ruined our Valentine's Day.

First experience w Red Cat in February and had a great time. They take safety seriously (which I…read morelike) but will admit if it was my first ever cat skiing experience (which it wasn't) may have been intimidated by the safety lecture and demonstrations before we departed in the cat. As in "what am I getting myself into???". But no need for concern, just be honest about your skill level, choose the right ability level (I'm intermediate) and have fun. Huge playground with tons of acreage to catch great snow. Timing is everything and while we didn't have the fortune of a lot of new snow, there was plenty of great powder in very good condition making it an excellent experience. Guides were friendly and professional and even shared tips w me for improving my skiing (greatly appreciated!). Pluses for this operation over others I've experienced: all skiers were given safety packs to carry including a radio (really liked the radio so I could hear direct conversation between the guides, for me, more information is better than less). Minuses: better, clearer communications on what is and is not included. They do recommend bringing your own water but they have water available. I brought a water bottle and they had water available, but is was hot water. Had I known that I would have planned better. But, not a big deal. All in all, ready to go back!

Friends and I went to Big Red Cat skiing March 11 in the "expert" cat with Ben who was nice and G,…read morewho was not, as our guides. At first, I thought maybe it was me and "g" and I just didn't click. Well, hours later and after speaking with others in my cat, I found out it wasn't just me. Comments like "all I did was worry about doing something wrong" or "that guy hates his job" were common. Including from people on the trip I stumbled into at the bar later. The way I would describe the experience was, picture the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) operating a cat skiing company and then getting their grumpiest employee to "lead guide" the experience. I'll skip the poor food and run selection as some of those things can't be helped or aren't that important to me. Bizarrely, and the reason I gave 2 stars, is I met another guide at the same bar I stumbled on to other (extremely) dissatisfied clients and he couldn't have been nicer. His name was Alex. I'd hate to hurt his prospects but I gotta be honest, for me, this experience was a dud. And, actually kinda bizarre. How hard is it for a guide to at least pretend to enjoy his job?

I stayed in the blue room, where as I lay soaking in the clawfoot tub, I could look out through the bedroom window at the beautiful snow capped mountains. The floors are heated, and the woodwork detail is very nice, making it feel like a rustic cabin that is also clean and comfortable. The Red Barn Lodge is on my list of places to return to in the near future, and the nearby skiing was fantastic. The town of Rossland is small, and the locals are very friendly and easy going. My only regret is that due to my travel schedule I could only stay for one night. Next time I'll be back and I'll stay much longer.

They were gracious hosts, making us feel comfortable in our home away from home. They did an incredible job of converting a dairy barn into an absolutely beautiful B&B. I would love to have my house decorated they way they have done the B&B. Some of the things I really enjoyed - heated floors, super comfy bed, quiet house, awesome clawfoot tub for two, delicious and healthy breakfast with more food than we could eat, and a fun tour of the place before we headed out for more skiing.
