Scenery around it amazing. Drum circles. Exercises classes were a just right challenge. Perfect for vacation. I did the TRX and rebounding workouts. Cons: this is an older looking resort. We just had a great extended girls weekend at red mountain! They have many classes & hikes included in the all inclusive plan, which we took full advantage of, but then we also paid for a few extra excursions as well. (The narrows water hike was the most phenomenal experience- highly recommend booking it even with a $400 price tag!) In the dead of winter, indoor pool, outdoor hot tub & sauna/steam room are available. They have a spa on site, as well as free bike rentals from 9a-5p. The restaurant attached to the all inclusive plan is actually very delicious, and they do have grab & go options if you're going to be gone on a hike and miss a meal. Our room was really beautiful. We took advantage of the beautiful views from our attached patio every single day! The bathroom was perfect for both me and my best friend to get ready at the same time, which is a luxury you're not always given, and we both slept like a rock, so I would say the beds are pretty comfy as well! Honestly, we weren't really sure what to expect as two Chicagoans traveling to Utah, but they exceeded our expectations at red mountain! The only reason for 4 stars is because they just got bought out by another resort and are undergoing changes. We had more than one mishap in pricing, even though we prepaid, and definitely had to refute/explain/challenge a few things on our final bill. They were very receptive and apologetic, but it was a bit of a hassle that shouldn't have occurred. Overall though, I think I would return! :) read more

OMGosh! Can I please move here? You need to come here if you want to feel re-energized and connect with nature and life! This cute little town is stunning. If you want the Zen Vibe and an Escape - this is IT! Mountain view rooms, fresh air, great location, a place of wellness, tranquility, great price, healthy & yummy food and more! The town has just enough to offer to have everything without being overly crowded, too. We went in the fall and the temperatures were cool, but not too cold too enjoy the outdoors! We went on hikes in the many beautiful canyons, got a sleep massage that knocked me out with all the senses enthralled --and I rarely sleep, lol:), received a sweet, sugar, head to toe, shower scrub (that was sensational), went mountain biking with rented bikes, slept in hammocks, I learned a lot, that I thought I knew, in health courses about my feet, tongue, brain, senses & life, went to fitness classes, took in the scenery, read books, worked some, visited the town, jacuzzi and more! You can do many things on your own or join a group session for yoga, classes, hikes, tours, seminars, inspirational classes, goal setting, dreaming, reflection, healing and more! Great prices, too! We took our mother for a spa day and to our surprise the facilities were really out dated. There wasn't a sauna, cool plunge, or in house jacuzzi. The steam room could hold 3 people and only 2 showers. All three of us loved our massages, but its not a place to spend the day enjoying spa services. read more

I've wanted to visit Red Mountain Resort for years. Finally, some good friends said they were coming west and did I want to join them for a girls' getaway. I, of course, jumped at the chance to spend time with friends, hike Utah, and relax at the resort. We had a great time, took some amazing hikes, and enjoyed a 5 star dinner at The Painted Pony in St. George. The resort, however, has seen better days. It's definitely due for a facelift to bring it more on par with the competition. The pros: Location - it doesn't get any better. Southern Utah is amazing. The hikes and guides - fabulous. Jeremy and Dave led the advanced hike on Monday morning, and also our day hiking The Narrows at Zion on Tuesday. Both were knowledgeable and fun to hang with on trail. Classes - a good variety. We did a stretch class after our hike at Snow Canyon and it was very good. Lodging - clean. The cons: Lodging - small and dated, not terribly well-appointed like you would expect at a resort/spa. Food - average. The servers were very friendly, but not at the top of their game. Empty plates and glasses sat on the table throughout dinner. Requests were often met with "we're out of that." It was early season, so I can cut them a break. Environmentally conscious - less than average. I'm no tree hugger, but I was shocked to find the place full of plastic water bottles. Our lunches for the Zion hike were packaged in more plastic and a bag that most people put directly into the trash. Bang for the buck? Not really. Our package included all meals, but the dining room isn't set up to accommodate early morning hikes, which we did every morning. So if you do early excursions, don't expect a meal before hand even though it's technically included in your package. Coffee was the only option, and even that wasn't set up and ready to go when we got there at 6:00 a.m. All-in-all, we had a nice stay, but I do think the resort needs to jump on the renovation bandwagon given there's a very nice, upscale resort going in not far from there. read more

This was once the best hiking spa there was. So much has changed and not for the better. The food is awful, lacks creativity and the food service is slow and amateurish. The hotel portion is also tired. They don't provide housekeeping services unless you specifically ask, but they don't tell you that you need to ask. After a couple of days I asked about it and they told me I needed to request it and acted surprised that I didn't know this. What a joke. Don't waste your money here. Just not worth it. read more

Really want to give a 4.5 as the only issue was the a/c. It worked but on its own terms. To the amazing part, EVERYONE that we encountered were so kind. As with many places, they too are understaffed but did their best to make us comfortable and happy. Huge shout out to Luna at the Canyon counter. We ordered dinner from their before they closed as well as a refreshing smoothie that she recommended. She even brought our food too us as we were shopping at the Outfitter next door. We also enjoyed a vibration therapy class using a vibrating massage ball. Lastly, their bedding is the softest bedding I've ever slept in and I've had Egyptian cotton sheets. I have been to Red Mountain resort at least five time in the past, but it was my first time back since the pandemic (and since the new ownership.) I will start off on a positive note: 1. Food was delicious and restaurant/cafe staff was very kind and attentive. 2. Spa services were excellent. Love the spa! 3. Acoustic acupuncture was a pleasure. 4. Yoga on the rocks with Ian was such a great experience- I highly recommend. 5. Shoutout to Marcy and Tori in the front office. Such a pleasure meeting both of you! Now for the not so positive experience: Very frustrating and disappointing are the first words that come to mind after our very quick 3 night stay. These are the differences I noticed that can use improvement: 1. All inclusive not as available 2. Ala carte method creates lots of work for customers and staff. I had a party of 3 and it took more time to plan the trip than my actual time at the resort! 3. Dining room credit and front desk/reservations systems not connected, so no one can tell you how much money you've spent. 4. Deposit is required, but then they charge your credit card every day for purchases. It's listed as pending, but you have no idea why they are charging random amounts to your credit card in a pending status. Are they afraid you are going to skip out on the bill even though they already secured a one night deposit? If I had not previously been to the resort, I would have canceled due to all the trouble it was to plan and just get there. With that being said, I will not return until they fix all these kinks. It's so sad, because it's such a beautiful spot, but not worth all the pain it caused before, during and now even after my 3 day stay at the resort. read more

Wife and I went there 3 times (when it was the Red Mountain Spa) and it was great. Since changing hands, the prices remain high but the quality went down the drain from; Rooms (could use serious renovation) Food (they eliminated all the fun and healthy dishes which made this place special) Hikes - were shortened by at least one hour (although all the guides were great and friendly). Classes became geriatric compared to before. So in recap, we are no longer fans and would not recommend this place. St. George and snow canyon is a spectacular place worth visiting but, you do not need to stay at this place. read more

I was in need of a reset and relaxing adventure. A friend recommended this place to me years ago but I wasn't sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews. I believe they have been under new ownershio for about 1 year. I had a wonderful time at Red Mountain. My stay was a short 4 days & I wish I had longer. The staff were all friendly, kind, Ian, Shelly, and more. (Sorry forgot the others names). I was a bit disappointed a couple of classes I had hoped to participate in were changed, one being intro to meditation. The beautiful trails, labyrinth, spa service was great. I participated in the art slot hike it was absolutely beautiful. My room was as expected with a large tv was large. I purchase a retreat package which included most classes, activities, and all meals. I thought it was a great deal otherwise everything is alacarte. The restaurant is Canyon Breeze which I was also pleased with and will leave a separate review for. I will return. read more

Double charged our stay! We had to file a dispute with the booking site. An item that was left in the room went missing. We arrived late at night and were not given the room we had booked, so were separated from our children into two different rooms in two buildings. One of the rooms was disgustingly dirty. We mentioned to the front desk in the morning, and were moved again, to the original room type we had booked. Then they double charged our card for the entire stay on Christmas Eve, and have since refused to answer any emails or phone calls. We will never stay there again sadly. read more

I love this resort! My friends and I had an amazing and relaxing time here. We stayed in hummingbird and had a view of the pool with the mountains behind it. We didn't end up booking the all inclusive and instead did a la carte because we were going to be at zion a lot and wouldnt make it back for meals. We ordered room service and the food is great. Don't hesitate booking here. We did the suite with two queen beds and one king bed and it was phenomenal!! read more

Property is beautiful, rooms are ok, clean and functional. I like that 2 charging stations are next to the bed unlike most places. Upon arrival absolutely NO orientation of the property given.. You are given a map, which is pretty much useless, especially if you have no sense of direction. Had it not been for an employee on a golf cart leading me to my room, I would still be searching for it today. When I tried to find the Labyrinth I asked another guest who had been there 3 days and she could not tell me, even though she had been there herself. The place is a bit of a maze. Best to bring your own bottled water for coffee, tea and drinking unless you are ok with tap water (with noticeable chlorine smell). I also brought my own Bullet to make smoothies and boiled eggs for breakfast. I read that breakfast/lunch is not that good and over priced. Based on my dinner, I think that's true. There is a mini fridge but no plates, utensils or paper towels if you bring your own food so be prepared. Basic classes are $35/each. Much more for hiking, biking and energy/spiritual healing sessions. You can buy a Power Pass for $50/day that can be used on the $35 classes only I had dinner first night, $68 including tip. Food was mediocre, needs improvement. The patio outside was lovely and breezy. Sadly, there is NO non alcoholic wine or beer options. I hope they rectify that, not everyone wants to include alcohol on a healthy getaway. I decided to eat the tuna and apple I brought for the second nights dinner and I'm glad I did. All in all it is a beautiful place with lots to offer. I did not hike with a group, but that seems to be the big attraction there. I simply went for a walk on my own and I took a few classes, sat in the hot tub and I was happy with that. read more

This property is not a glamorous themed hotel, but it is also not a rustic cabin type of motel/hotel. Clean rooms, deep tubs, furniture in our room was slightly worn and the parking is a little farther from the rooms if you have a lot of luggage. If you are on the first floor and have active upstair/2nd floor neighbors, you can hear them walking/thudding about. The location is right next to marvelous Snow Canyon State Park and a short drive to St George and Santa Clara. They also have a short hiking trail and outdoor rock maze in their back yard. They have a spa and restaurant, need reservations. Loved their indoor huge pool. Also their outdoor hot tub is quite large and peaceful with the moon illuminating the night sky. read more

While located in a great location, and the staff who work here are lovely (except for someone who appeared to be the front desk manager), the Resort is not what it used to be. No room service, same menu for breakfast and lunch daily, same menu for dinner nightly, one dinner main course for pescatarians, none for vegetarians, not a lot of healthy food choices, no q-tips or cotton balls in bathrooms, occasionally there is hot water for tea in registration and dining area, The Counter to go food area is often unstaffed. Our group ate mainly at Feel Love Cafe which is off property. Excursions are great due to guides. I asked for late check out at 8am and the was called 5 minutes before my massage at 10am that I could not check out late making me really stressed to get out of room and essentially ruined zen of massage. I have been coming to Red Mountain Resort for several years. The location is magical! The chances to hike, take yoga and other classes, get a massage, hang by the pool are exactly what I've been looking for. HOWEVER, this must recent visit has been a letdown! Apparently, the resort is now under new ownership. It feels more like a golf club than a health/ fitness resort. Or, more like just a hotel. Specific concerns: the restaurant would be incredibly overpriced if I hadn't already paid for a package. Portions were often small. They were often out of things: out of potatoes, out of wheat toast, out of salmon...fot a place with an already limited menu that was frustrating. The wait staff was clearly over burdened. They were very friendly, but stressed. Offerings for classes and activities were also much more limited than in other years. One last thing: when I purchased my Essential Retreat package there was no explanation of how the food was billed. Apparently, there is a certain dollar amount credited each day or each meal. I don't know, but it was never explained. I'm not sure whether I will return or not. I'm not looking for a golf club. I may need to find some place else. read more

My experience was terrible. Booked an 80 minute massage with Nancy and she was awful. She didn't listen to me when I asked her to go lightly. I asked 6 times and she just ignored me. This was the 3rd time I've visited this place and will be the last. I was comped the massage which that's not what I wanted I was willing to still pay but the spa manager Rachel comped it. She was an amazing manager. However the male manager at the front desk heard me taking to the employee and instead stepping in as a manager should have he ignored us. I'm a general manager as well of a business and I would never allow my employee to handle an upset customer while I'm standing there. I do not recommend this getting a massage from this individual. I came here for a refreshing trip post a traumatic event. Book at least two months ago because nothing will be available. They price the activities very very very high when down the street the price is 1/3 the cost. I actually was banned from all outdoor activities because I was forgetting things aka a door key that didn't work as well as taking too long during the hikes for $300 can I not take my time? Overall spa is always booked but amazing . The activities are soooo overpriced just find a tour guide I saved so money. I heard covid makes the spa kind of suck you can only get a massage or facial and always book ahead. They also don't clean ur room which really sucks and is ur typical hotel room not anything even cute. In general over priced, I have visited some of the top ten spas in America so I was just a little shocked how much they kept saying luxury??. And all inclusive means just three small meals and u pay 3$ for a cookie or 4$ for powdered lemonade. That's what I found tacky. So we were supposed to be here a year ago using the 'spa' on property. Fast forward to this weekend where we finally got to reschedule our time back here. Due to the fiasco last time, the hotel comp'd us a 2 night stay which was nice. I booked everything about 3 weeks ago - room and spa appointments. When I called Friday night they had no record of our reservation even though I was looking right at a confirmation number. After 15 minutes on the phone I was told we would be ok and to check in when we get here. We got to the hotel at 10:30 Friday night, checked in and ventured to our room. The room booked was a King and the room given to us was a Queen. The TV didn't work and the room itself was surely not one that had been updated like photos on their website; not even clean in some areas. We got to sleep in hopes that our massages would go well. We checked in for our massages the next day at the 'spa'. We were booked for an 80min couples massage. Husband's massage went fine according to him. My gal had decent pressure however from the second she put her hands on my body it felt like fine sand paper rubbing my body. I'm not at all sure how a masseuse has rough hands but this gal did. When checking out we were just asked if we would give 20% gratuity rather than allowing me the opportunity to fill out what I felt was appropriate. We spent over $400 for less than 80 min of a massage(they got us at 12:10p and phone said 1:22p when we were done). I'm guessing you're paying for the red rock landscape view as there are no amenities at this 'spa'. Coming from Vegas I guess we are spoiled with the real spa/resort feels and service. I really had hopes that this 2nd attempt would be redemption but this property is mediocre at best. We have been here many times and have the same wonderful experience. The facility and location are amazing. Lots to do regardless of season. But the most impressive part of the stay is the staff. They are better than any 5 star resort on the planet. To name just a few, massages by Sydney and Alex, for my wife and i were incredible Then, we went to valentines dinner. It was a 5 course menu. Minestrone soup, shrimp cocktail, beet & burrata salad, chicken Marsala, lobster risotto, mango cheesecake. It was the best dinner we have ever had. Not kidding. The chef is very special. But...the service was even better. Savanna and Taylor made the evening one to remember. We will be back and telling all our family and friends about this place. I wish i could remember the name of the nice girl who took my initial reservation to. She has the same first name as the manager! Even she was so helpful and welcoming And last but not least the amazing young man that checked us in! A one-size-fits-all spa resort perfect for almost any vacation impulse -- active outside in gorgeous scenery, classes and spa inside, or simply laying in a hammock. RMR is located in beautiful desert (e.g. red rocks, not sand dunes) about two hours outside of Vegas (or 2.5 hours if you don't go 10 mph over the 75 mph speed limit). Low profile buildings house maybe 20 rooms on two floors with outdoor entrances -- they are OK spaces - think elevated Hilton spaces - but the mattresses are super comfy and bathrooms are a notch up. Ask to stay in "Rabbit" or "Deer" (we like first floor) which is close to the gym, indoor pool, hot tub and restaurant. The landscaping has some grass with waterfalls and fountains - and desert plants like blooming cacti. As far as activities - there is much to choose from whether you want to rappel off a cliff, hike a national park, hike lesser known sandstone nearby, or take lots of indoor classes. We always find we do better to get their all-inclusive rate, which includes three meals at the Canyon Breeze restaurant and about 1/2 of the activities. You pay extra for some of the more elaborate outings and private Pilates/training sessions. If you have the money its great to get 1/1 service from their loyal and experienced employees - many of whom have been with RMR for decades. I've been to RMR probably six or seven times for well over a decade -- their food has been slipping a bit in the last year or so, perhaps due to COVID/costs. Still its well above your average restaurant with super fresh and abundant veggies and fruits and generally tasty entrees. You pay extra for wine/beer and the menu isn't exactly 'spa cuisine' but the burgers and tacos offered as options were certainly made to be on the healthy side. Service in the restaurant as everywhere else is super helpful and genuine - shout out to Justin for going above and beyond to save by last visit in the fall. Sagestone spa is a great option to fit into your daily routine as well. Their massages are absolutely outstanding and hydrating body wraps are the perfect antidote to the dry air. I've been to many of the noted destination spas in the US in Texas, Massachusetts, and California and RMR is on par if even better in some ways, depending on the time of year, and about 20-40% cheaper (look for special discounts in the off season). As far as when to go - winter can be cold/rainy/snowy and summer temps in the 100s make hiking tough. March - May is probably optimal but the most expensive time. I'm a fan of the cooler weather and like to visit in January to set myself up for a healthy and active year. read more

This place is amazing! I just got home from my trip and it was everything I needed. Waking up to a yummy breakfast and a hike was so nurturing and helped me unwind mentally and emotionally. The hotel staff is so nice and easy to be around. Jeremy and Matt are so personable and made it feel like hiking with enlightened friends. Both of my appointments with Ian were excellent! While the food wasn't perfect here, it was consistently nourishing and tasty, balanced in its offering with lots of veggies and GF options. I loved how the soups were all dairy free except optional garnishes when I was there. I met amazing people and the skies were stunning. I learned so much about the history and geology of this area and found a great balance of solitude and connection. I will definitely be coming back again next year! Coming while the occupancy was low for the off season was an added bonus to getting away from hectic life. read more

Third visit there last month. Staff is nice. Rooms really need a facelift. A/C was so loud it kept me up at night. Bought the Bryce Canyon tour for $400.00. Guide was ok. A member of our group was struggling on the hike. He completely ignored her, went ahead on the trail and just waited for her to catch up. No breathing tip, words of encouragement nothing. Then we left and hour early and he would not stop at the gift shop like we asked. Bryce is beautiful and nicely laid out. Easy to park so I would suggest you can just go on your own at your on pace and save the money. read more

If you cancel before 14 days of your stay they charge you $50 and if less than 14 days , well...... Consider the full charge a donation to Red Mountain Resort The resort is closed due to covid. They are scheduled to reopen on Sept 3 but of course that all depends on the pandemic situation. I had booked a room for my friends birthday (9/6) but she does not want to risk going out just yet. I cancelled my reservation ONE MONTH in advance and was still charged the $50 fee. Granted, this is their policy, however I would have expected a business of this size would be a bit more flexible under the special circumstances. I'm out $50 but they are out 3 future customers. I really WANT to give this a higher review. Bad news first: Very expensive (nearly $500 a night); no late check out; food is mediocre; Rooms are NOT sound proof and the people above us were surely dropping something heavy on the floor at 3 a.m. that woke us all up in addition to wearing heavy boots while walking; Spa needs more room/space and a face lift but services were great. The reason it is great (but I won't return to RMR): gorgeous surroundings. Absolutely beautiful - Snow Canyon, Zion, hikes, trails, etc. ; The classes were good and fun (except for the Moon one); Rooms are quite nice with lots of windows and outdoor access (we stayed in a Villa); Spa services were first rate!; Staff is unbelievably kind! Just great people: Toni, Matt, Alayna, guides, wait staff, etc. They just make you feel great everyday and are accomodating (I do second the comments regarding reservations for dinner - make sure you make them in advance!). The Worst: Charges add up fast on top of the bills and fees, so make sure you know what you're getting and how it is being put on your bill. Have spent hours working with guest services manager and the price just keeps going up! Not a way to end a SPA experience. We signed up for Girlfriends Getaway, and well, only 3 of us got it. Did they expect all 5 of us to stay in one room? Signed up for 4 spa packages, and well, only 3 were scheduled (the spa staff were great about fitting in the rest of our group, but the way the charges came out were horrendous!) Unfortunately the experience with the final bill for 5 people is so frustrating, with very little customer service or grace (even while working with the guest services manager!), that I have to forget any idea of returning. I hope to get it resolved but it isn't going well and it isn't what I expected when one goes to a resort/spa for the customer service(s). Disappointed. read more

Have you ever been in a situation where someone was determined to overcome obstacles? Have you ever done business with someone who would find a way to provide great service? That's the element that is missing at The Red Mountain Resort. Their only real brush with collective excellence is their ability to feign regret while they tell you "unfortunately, we can't...". There are notable exceptions. Kara at the front desk was a delight. She was a prime example of finding a solution rather than the standard, "Unfortunately...". Diana at Canyon Counter was also very good! She opened early because I arrived 10 mins before the 11:00 opening time, which seems late for a coffee/snack bar, but the whole state seems afflicted with this disorder. Elaine and Jason who drove the shuttles were wonderful. In an effort at fair balance, the State of Utah makes a restaurant job difficult. They are perfectly fine with polygamy, but a glass of scotch after dinner is completely out of the question. My disappointment with the restaurant is the complete lack of training in anything beyond avoiding eye contact with someone wanting to order, at which the college students they hire are expert. Come on guys, a premier resort should have people who can pronounce the wine list and give you some idea of the flavor profile before expecting you to blindly pay their confiscatory prices for a bottle of mediocre wine. A dozen of us came out for a firm retreat and a really wonderful time. The setting is absolutely stunning, and the guided Challenge hikes each morning were definitely a highlight of our stay. Kyle was especially good. The spa and our massage appointments were another huge highlight- some of the best massages we've had; thanks Brandon and Crystal! Everyone was so friendly; had a few communication issues, but got most of them worked out. One night, we booked the star-gazing for our group which was really incredible. Elliott was so knowledgeable, and through the super-powerful telescopes we were able to see the contours of the moon, and even Jupiter with 3 of its moons. Loved the outdoor pools and jacuzzis. We also booked the Padre Hospitality suite which was really nice - great for our group to have some space to hang out together. As for the rooms, we started out w/ a 2-double bed room in the Deer building, which was just kind of a standard hotel room, but were able to upgrade to King Villa rooms in Owl and Quail buildings, which were really beautiful - huge modern bathroom, fireplace, big balcony or patio and nice views. We had all meals included, and they were pretty good. Salad bar was great. Breakfasts were just ok, if you do the 8 am hike, more options if you eat later; lunches and dinner were pretty good. Quiet, clean, and well-maintained. We were only guests for one night, but enjoyed our experience. Bed was comfortable and the fireplace was cozy. The jetted tub was great, though the bathroom is dated. read more

This resort has gone downhill. Food, service, amenities and overall experience was a big disappointment. Rooms were dirty and they don't offer daily maid service. We were on an all- inclusive package but we opted to leave the property for breakfast and lunch because the food was terrible. I've been to Red Mountain Resort many times in the past but this current visit will be the last. read more

So for starters, the resort was amazing and very relaxing. Exactly what I was wanting. We booked the girlfriends Villa Getaway. the room was a nice size for all three of us. The problem was the Sagestone Spa. there were three ladies staying at the resort and we booked the spa for our last day. The services are not cheap, but also what you would expect to pay in a resort spa. The spa was clean but not large. The amenities were ok. Two of us booked the Ayurvedic Desert Journey Ritual, which was $185 for 75 minutes. The first thing I asked the therapist during my massage was what was the difference between an Ayurvedic massage and a regular massage. she said hmmmmm, I'm trying to think what that word (ayurvedic) means. She never was able to tell me what ayurvedic meant and the only difference she could tell me was the strokes were different. There is more to it than that and I feel if you are offering a specialty service, at that price point, you should be able to tell me what an ayurvedic massage is. The massage overall was ok, not bad, not spectacular. Also not worth $185. Our friend got the Adobe Lavender Hydrating Cocoon, which was 50 minutes for $135. They tout this as a Sagestone signature treatment. During her treatment she told the therapist that she planned on using the steam room after. She asked the therapist if there was a period of time she needed to wait before using the steam room. The therapist said she didn't know and she should be fine going in. Again, I feel like if this is a signature specialty treatment, the therapist should be able to answer basic questions about it. Overall, I would stay at the resort again, but I would not use the spa again and would not recommend it at that price point. read more
