Ordered cajun chicken Alfredo and popcorn shrimp to-go. Alfredo was dry and portion was noticeably smaller than other locations. Popcorn shrimp was so small, they have to had chopped up the shrimp. I didn't check the food until I got home, then I called to express my disappointment. Spoke to a Quentin/Quiency who told me the portions were smaller than other locations because of the market and the prices were cheaper. Please note the price at this location is 50 cents cheaper than the Illinois location yet the portion is half. He also said the popcorn shrimp has always been this size. Nonetheless the pasta was so dry it was inedible; he agreed to remake the order. Once I get there he had a horrible attitude and shoved my money across the counter causing some of the change to fall on the ground (I didn't even request for a refund just for my food to be made properly). I never have this issue at the Munster location which is also located in Indiana and should fall in the same market. Also, if Red Lobster is a chain restaurant it should have the same taste and portion size as the others regardless of a 50 cent price difference. Company is already struggling to stay afloat, customer service and food quality should be taken seriously. read more

We always enjoy coming here. I'm an awards member and we come here often. Came here for dinner last night. We were so disappointed with the new tartar sauce. It tastes nothing like the one we love. I don't know if it is a cost cutting decision by corporate but we don't like it. Service and the taste of the food was good though. Go back to your old tartar sauce. Well now, when you order food from Red Lobster on Valentines Day you better make Reservations or be willing to WAIT for your meal. So needless to say, I thought that it would be nice to buy dinner for my Parents and brother & Sister in Love. I had to actually go to Red Lobster to place our order because they were so busy they bearly had time to answer the phone. When I walked in; the lobby was full to capacity and even the bar area & bar stools were full. I thought that I'd have a little visit with my Boyfriend ( Jack Daniels) while I waited. I can't recall the beautiful young lady's name who took my order but she was fantastic. The other young lady who checked on me and my order frequently was a Beautiful spirit named Rayline (Ray) ; she brought me something to drink while I waited. Finally, a seat opened up at the bar and I ordered a shot of Jack and then to my surprise Ray bought me two Cheddar baked biscuits that were nice Hot and Fresh. The 2 Amazing bartenders, Roz and Jekare made the time fly by because they were hilarious and very accommodating to all of the guests at the bar. I placed my order at 6:20 pm and my order came out at about 8 pm. Thank Goodness, the order was correct and the Food was good. I was surprised that the food was still warm by the time I arrived home with 6 meals in tow. If I had any complaint ; it was Only that we didn't get any of their famous Cheddar bay biscuits (not a one) with our dinners. I was Sooo hungry and a little tired that I didn't take any pictures of our food. Due to the loss of my mother, we have had different family members purchasing lunch/dinner for us. We order from you all today, and I'm giving you a freaking thumbs down. I ordered the fish and chip. I literally got 1 flanky piece of fish (hungry took a bit) and about 21 yesterday fries. My 93 yr old grandmother ordered the Shrimp Alfredo and asked for extra sauce, and the person who packed her extra sauce didn't place the top on, and sauce was everywhere (however, she enjoyed). My sister ordered the grilled salmon ceasar salad, and it was all of four couton and no parmesan cheese on the salad (see below). My aunt ordered the admiral feast, and she was pleased. Now, I was here two weeks ago and everything was delicious. I guess the baby employees were on today. For the monies, our long-distance relative paid today was not worth what we received. Service is awful!! I work through a 3rd party food carrier through red lobster and there trash! Literally waiting 30-45 minutes on an order is unacceptable and also get some new employees that actually value their job because most of them suck tbh! The girls up front especially and the walkie talkie system ain't working out for yall! I had to walk out of there the other night because I was there to pick up an order I got there 5 minutes before it was supposed to be ready and waited 45 minutes and couldn't wait no more. Red Lobster is Comfort Food!! During a recent trip to the Merrivlle area, I found myself after a very long day, starving and craving seafood. I checked for some places online in the area and just didn't feel like paying twice the price for half the food. As luck would have it there was a Red Lobster nearby, and I had driven by it earlier that day. Decision Made!! I headed over to the Merrville location and was greeted warmly by the hostess who sat me right away. I was famished since I hadn't eaten since breakfast so I ordered a Seafarer's Feast which came with a wood-grilled Maine lobster tail, wood-grilled sea scallops, Red Lobsters' signature hand-crafted garlic shrimp scampi and Walt's Favorite Shrimp. I hadn't been to a Red Lobster in about 3 years, and when they placed those rolls in front of me......the table was roll-less in about 3 minutes. Next up was the creamiest coleslaw I've had in a while, which was amazingly good!! Then my platter came, with seafood cooked so many ways, and I was fortunate enough to get a fairly good-sized Lobster tail with fresh-tasting grilled scallops, The very garlicky and buttery Garlic Shrimp, and the delicious, cooked to a Golden Brown, Walt's favourite Shrimp. I'm not sure Red Lobster gets so many bad reviews. It is what it is, a chain of seafood comfort foods. Nothing on my plate was overcooked nor did it taste like it was frozen. What I got was really great platter of seafood, and I somehow managed to eat the whole thing. Was I able to eat breakfast in the morning? No way, but it was worth it. Red Lobster will always be a goto, when the pickings are slim or when I want to eat something familiar. Nothing like good 'ole comfort food once in a while!!! This red lobster experienced a systemic service failure. See photos showing uncleared dishes during meal. In addition, I ordered a soup that the server forgot and the items that did arrive took a long time. Getting a refill on drinks wasn't easy either. Upon entering the restaurant, we were told rather curtly "follow me" rather than a more standard friendly greeting. The staff here probably should find a non hospitality industry. The food was okay, but there were some problems. The good part was the Parmesan encrusted tilapia the wife ordered with baked potato. But the broccoli side was over cooked, as usual for Red Lobster. The shrimp tacos I ordered were very skimpy. See my photo showing taco with three shrimp. Mostly, they were cabbage and sauce. There was so much sauce that the tacos were soggy and fell apart. Made a reservation for a 20 person birthday party on a Saturday. Ended up having 26 people including kids. I felt the staff was great. Our waiter was an African American gentleman with locs, I think his name was Austin or Antoin. He was very professional and took great care of us. The food was delicious, no complaints from anybody. The only con I feel could've made the experience better was the end. It took a while to get our bill, get our payments picked up, and get our cards back. I decided to take my girlfriend out for lobster here tonight. It was a casual environment and even had a tank full of lobsters near the front door. They serve you cheddar, seasoned biscuits throughout your visit. Basket after basket is brought out! This was definitely a plus. I ordered the Wednesday special which is sirloin and lobster tail. I ordered the sirloin medium rare and it was cooked correctly. The lobster was alright, but kind of on the bland side. The mashed potatoes tasted cheap. Overall, it was a good deal for the combo on Wednesday. If you want to give it a shot, this is the day to go for the special which is $19.99 only. I feel absolutely disrespected by the management of this restaurant. I ordered Mother's Day dinner on the Red Lobster website. It was confirmed at 11:02 am for a 4:00 pm curbside pickup. I arrived at the restaurant at 3:45 pm and attempted to call the restaurant but nobody answered. I then noticed a line forming outside of the building so I found a parking spot and got in line. Everyone in line was waiting for food they ordered earlier in the day. I waited patiently with over fifty people outside in the rain and cold for the line to move so I could pick up my Mother's Day meal. Door Dash drivers would skip the line and walk in the restaurant. We asked them to send the manager out to let us know what was going on. I tried calling the restaurant three times only for the answering system to disconnect me after 10 to 15 minutes. Nobody in line was able to get through. Nobody was rowdy or behaving inappropriately. After waiting for 90 minutes in the cold and rain, police officers arrived and told everyone to leave because the restaurant couldn't handle the demand and they were shutting the kitchen down. AT NO TIME DID A RESTAURANT REPRESENTATIVE HAVE THE RESPECT OR DECENCY TO INFORM US OF THE SITUATION. Every person's order had an email and telephone number for the restaurant to contact us, yet nobody was contacted. How can a national restaurant chain not have the respect to contact customers who are standing in the rain and cold waiting on their orders?! These are not ordinary times but so much more could have and should have been done for us! How hard would it have been for the manager to come outside at some point during the 90 minutes I stood patiently in the rain? Absolutely disgusting, disrespectful service!!! read more

So on Jan. 6, 2021, we had a horrendous experience with the Red Lobster in Munster, Indiana. So much so that we left after waiting an hour to be served and dealing with a rude manager. Even though we're from Illinois, we drove way out of the way to visit the Merrillville Red Lobster. Wow, am I glad we did. They served us in a reasonable amount of time. The service was exceptional. The staff were very courteous and friendly, and the food was excellent. Interestingly, I shared with the Merrillville Manager the experience we just had at the Munster, IN. Red Lobster. This place is TERRIBLE. Ordered takeout at 2pm. Arrived after an hour and the line was wrapped around the building. They said they would call us when it was ready. No call. They were forcing people to wait outside in the rail and cold instead of calling us when it was ready. Waited outside for two hours. Tried calling the restaurant multiple times only to get disconnected after being on hold too long. When we tried going inside to talk to an employee for some insight on what was going on, they didn't even have anyone standing at the counter. The manager didn't have the decency to come out and let the 50 people standing out in the rain know what was going on. They also could have called us as they had our contact information. I have NEVER had such HORRIBLE SERVICE in my life. I'm not even upset that they were that busy. I'm pissed that they were so rude and disrespectful to their customers. The manager needs to be replaced immediately. and to top off the night. They called the cops the come and send everyone home saying they are shutting down the kitchen because they can't handle the orders. They just sent everyone home after we were waiting for hours.
