Others took a few days..and that is not good with providing service to new clients. She really caters to your needs; and I like how she booked an appointment 2weeks before the event to get to know me, my makeup needs, and what look will suit me for the event. I never had a makeup artist do that! On the day of the event, she did my makeup(& hairrr) for 2hours or so. She did a very good job, especially my eye makeup! And to top it all offf, my makeup stayed the whole night ^.^ Sooo, definitely consider her when thinking of getting your makeup professionally done. She can come to youu, or you can come to her! Valerie embodies professionalism at its finest. Honestly, no matter what gets thrown at this woman,…read morewhatever hurdles or wedding hiccups, she smiles and problem solves on the spot. The morning of the wedding had some unanticipated scheduling delays and changes, but Valerie graciously accommodated us. She painstakingly took the effort to air brush us, pamper us, and circle back to ensure touch ups for hair and makeup were in place. Throughout the whole experience, she made us laugh and feel so at ease. I mean this wholeheartedly as my friend's MoH, I couldn't have gotten through that morning/afternoon without Valerie's kindness, unrelenting patience, and humor. Trust me when I say this woman's got an A-game because boy, did that makeup stay on throughout the tears at that wedding ceremony. I highly recommend Valerie's services and am so indebted to her for all that she did for my friend, the beautiful bride, and her mom. She has such a wide exposure and experience of working with different skin tones, complexions, and textures. You're the best! Thank you again so much!

I reserved a makeup/hair artist from here for a wedding in town. I can't say that about this service; it was the best I've ever had. A little on the pricey side but definitely within reasonable limits for hair/makeup for an event. The salon was easy to communicate with (call/email/text), and they sent someone (Valerie) right to my hotel room to do my hair & makeup. She was friendly, professional, timely, and did AMAZING work. I really cannot say enough about this service; book them, you will save time and you will be thrilled with the results!! Really, really great work, thank you!

Nora with Pursemblance was a true joy to work with on my wedding day. Given that I am really "not…read morethat girl" who is really not into makeup & hair Nora really took the lead but followed my wishes to keep it clean & simple. I hate my lips but I love my hazel eyes. So I told her that I wanted to play those up & she really did that. She broke my fear of FALSE LASHES. I am converted! Moreover the makeup she applied with the airbrush technique really lasted from the ceremony, thru our fotos and into the reception. She also kept the bridesmaids looking fresh and simple - but really modern and glamorous too. Our pictures came out great & I really credit Nora for her help in keeping the bridesmaids look uniform & beautiful. Pluses: - Nora spoke Spanish to my mother & my grandmother too and that really helped make the setting on my wedding be more welcoming. - The best part - during the foto shoot with my bad dog, Lola, Nora held a banana over her head and made funny noises to hold the dog's attention for the photographer! How cool is that?! Now that's being a team player! - Nora has a colleague Sarah who she is works to do hair styling who I found to be just as professional and attentive. - Pursemblance's website - I am online gal who did most of my bridal planning that way since I was planning a long distance wedding. I tried to only book vendors with a website because that to me signals - modern, communicative and professional. Moreover, with my work & travel schedule emailing works best for me & Nora's accessibility on the web made her service that much more valuable to me. Highly recommended.

I got married on July 13th in Long Beach and was a bit nervous. I did not do the makeup trial run before my wedding (it just wasn't in the budget). Everybody told me I was crazy...after all Nora could have been a complete, talentless hack. But I trusted Yelp and I'm glad I did. Nora was amazing. Aside from the beautiful job she did on my makeup and hair (which was seriously the best I've ever looked), she also didn't dick around with idle conversation and waste my time. That might sound blunt, but when you are paying for service...you want the job done and quickly. With weddings already being a stress-fest, having somebody who is both talented and efficient is EXACTLY what a bride needs. I recommend Nora to absolutely everybody...and let her use fake eyelashes on you. I wasn't a believer until I met her (just as so many others have said on their reviews, as well). Nobody will know they aren't real and you'll look THAT much more beautiful in your pictures! Thank you, Nora. I will ABSOLUTELY be seeking you out should I require any makeup services in the future!!! You're a dream come true.

I was 10 minutes early for my appointment and she was still working on her previous client. No problem, I waited..... she finished that client 15 minutes into my appointment.
