After providing confirmation of the order they advised they didn't have any dough left for the garlic bread we had ordered. Not once throughout the time we sat there did anyone check in or advise of any issues with stock. This isn't the first time we have encountered long delays here unfortunately but nothing to this extent.

The red cabbage and glazed carrots were especially tasty, but there were also steamed broccoli and cauliflower with a light cheese sauce. I couldn't finish it all. The Lovely Bride had a leek and mushroom quiche, which she enjoyed as well. Service was attentive without being a bother. All in all, a fine meal.

This village pub does serve as a nice starting point before heading down into town though. Many locals will stay there all night. The food and drink is reasonably priced. I wouldn't say the food is cheap, but it's definitely worth the money. There's also a decent selection of drinks on offer considering this is a small village pub that focuses mainly on the food side of the business. The beer garden is fantastic in summer, four picnic tables on a grassy area, there's also a childrens play area to keep the kids happy too. A very family friendly pub during the day. There's also a generously sized car park. Not really necessary in most pubs, but this is one that you'd gladly drive to just for a meal. The car park is never empty, but you'll usually have no trouble finding a space. Highly recommended for food, not ideal for a large group of lads/girls on a night out though.
