We had heard about this mobile shooting range through some friends and decided to check out the website (which is laid out very clearly) and wasn't sure about what package we wanted, so we phoned, got an answer immediately and had a friendly chat about options for placing the marquee and range. We booked a few weeks before our party and there was no problem. When it came to the day of the party, lock n load arrived on time, unpacked, set up and ran through precautions and procedures before we started. I have to say, alot of the women were apprehensive about handling a pistol or one of the bigger guns but it is so addictive everyone had a right laugh and it got very very competitive. Fun was had all round, and the price was very reasonable.

I'm not entirely clear as to why the Hexagon is so named. It didn't seem particularly hexagonal in…read moreshape, but I should probably look this fact up and return to it at another time. The Hexagon's shape isn't the important issue here though, what's important is whether it was a good venue for Alexa G and I to learn about science and fawn over Brian Cox and Ben Goldacre. And the answer is YES. This theatre might have been tricky to find in the first instance, but it's handily located for Reading Central train station and a good few local amenities. The bar is expensive as hell, but aren't they all in theatres? Meanwhile the venue lends itself very well to performances of all kinds. The great thing about the Hexagon is that even if you're in the nosebleeds like we were, you're still not actually far away from the stage. It's small enough to be intimate yet large enough to hold a decent amount of revellers. While it seems a little dated in places, overall it harbours a pleasant atmosphere... and the bathrooms are pretty well maintained, which is always nice when you're spending your hard-earned on entertainment. Overall, I'd be more than happy to attend another show at the Reading Hexagon. Four enthusiastic stars to it!

I didn't think it was lit up very well from the outside - we parked in a multi storey right next to (more luck than judgement!) but had to ask directions. It is a lovely theatre once you are inside with seating and food and a bar to enjoy while you wait. The doors are clearly signposted and the staff seemed very helpful and friendly. There was a good atmosphere in the theatre.

The bar area on the ground floor is a lovely space, the snacks and staff were great, and the wine was good. I can't recommend the venue as I was not the one organising the event, but it did serve its purpose exceedingly well.

You have to give kudos to the folks who figured out how to utilize a stadium for purposes other…read morethan sports. The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre offers meeting rooms, executive suites, and lounges for business meetings and events. What better place to hold a team-building event than at a sports stadium? There is even an aptly named Princess Suite with a lounge area that overlooks the courtyard of the Millennium Madejski Hotel; this is the largest room, holding up to 400 people, and often chosen for weddings. Not really my style, but it probably works perfectly for someone else. I'm giving the Conference Centre an extra star because I'm just plain impressed.
