Adorable little boutique hotel diagonal from Windsor castle on High Street. My main complaint is…read morethere is no gym in the hotel. There is a gym that guests can use for a small fee that is 3 minutes away but it doesn't open until 8 or 9am depending on the day. That is too late for me since I was going to work early every day. The rooms are tiny with a double bed. I had a view of the rooftop next door. The mattress was pretty firm and the bed had 4 pillows one of which was a feather. The bathroom had a nice shower with one of those rain shower heads and the water got really hot. The shower door was one of those half doors that doesn't close. That seems a bit weird but it worked. The bathroom has a towel warmer but mine was not working which was unfortunate. It also got a bit stuffy in my room at night luckily the window was able to open a little bit, enough for fresh air! There are coffee pods, and tea in the room. I love that they give you the Walkers biscuits in your room. They are so good and there were many flavors that they replenished every day. Also they gave you water in your mini fridge. My co worker was not happy that there was no lotion or conditioner in the bathroom. She asked for lotion at the front desk but then had to buy some conditioner. I always bring mine so it wasn't a big deal for me. My reservation came with a buffet breakfast in the restaurant. It was your traditional English breakfast The coffee was horrible. 2/10 on the coffee scale. The location is fabulous and very walkable. Kitty corner to the Windsor castle and shopping is steps away.

Decent hotel on the outskirts of Reading so well worth checking out if you need a place to stay…read morewhilst travelling. I only slept, showered and breakfasted here so review based on that as I was out and about the rest of my stay. Checkout is 12 noon which is decent, staff are friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy, TV with freeview/extra channels too. Health club with swimming pool but didn't have time to check out. This is a Holiday Inn so a chain but it was clean, tidy, provided a good breakfast so happy to give 4*. Breakfast if not included in your deal, is £8.95 if bought voucher in advance from reception. Continental, cereals and full cooked breakfast is available, plus there is a pancake station. Kids eat free. Lots of freshly cooked items available and I was able to get gluten free toast in the morning so I was happy at that. Starbucks coffee stand also there too, plus a bar so a pint is about £4, pepsi is £1.90 a bottle. Taxi into Reading is about £10 from the hotel as not much near the hotel. So, yep, had a decent stay and would be happy to book again. Worth checking HI website as double room was about £60 per night during the weekend, though I think during the week stays are pricier!

The rooms are typical for a hotel of this type, clean and a reasonable size. The public rooms are large and the decor modern. There is plenty of parking, but as it is around the low-rise building you can end up with a long walk back to the entrance.

I only spent a night/day here, but it was a pleasant experience…read more I received an upgrade on arrival and got one of the superior suites. The room was huge, with a very comfy bed and had an annexed room with a sofa. Big TV and minibar (with complimentary softdrinks) in both rooms. A lovely bathroom with both a shower and a bath tub. There was quite a good selection for breakfast, although the buffet might seem small compared to other hotels I've been to, it had everything I needed. There was also a menu of hot dishes to order, and I must say I really enjoyed my scrambled eggs and salmon. I spent most of the day in the lounge doing some work on my laptop. Beautiful, although it can get a little noisy as it's next to reception. The location, what can I say... Excellent, right in front of Windsor Castle. Very convenient for tourists. I will most likely go back if I need to stay in a hotel in Windsor again.
