DO NOT EVER use this company. Less than a month after moving in, someone cut off our lock and put their own lock on our storage unit. Horrified, we called Red Dot for help. They advised us to put a new lock on the unit (to "secure" it) and wait over a week for one of their employees to arrive on site and cut off the strange lock. [EDIT: My husband noticed that there were a TON of storage units with two locks... almost as if there are dozens of other people to whom this has happened.] Almost all of our family's belongings are being held captive here. We realized there aren't even any security cameras! And there aren't any on-site employees! Not only that, but the day we moved in the kiosk was broken! (I've seen that in other reviews.) We bought one of Red Dot's locks from the vending machine. It charged our card $12 but was out of locks! Furthermore, if you need to leave the storage facility on foot, the gate will not open. It only opens for cars. So, you can get trapped inside the gate if you park your car out front and walk through the gate without noticing the sign. (Totally different than the other places we've used.) I would not have written this review if customer service would have cared. There is NO URGENCY OR SECURITY. People can just waltz in whenever they like and cut off locks. read more

Red Dot Storage used to be great---super customer service over the phone, etc. They bought this location from an absentee owner who experienced break-ins, etc. The first year with Red Dot, based in Colorado, was great. In the past year or so, however, their version of customer service is to threaten to auction contents & to add exorbitant fees even when one is only a week or two late---ridiculous way to run a business! They obviously have no loyalty to their long-time clients whatsoever, so beware of doing business with them. read more

They offer safe and secure storage is what they advertise. My daughter and her boyfriend had to move out of SMWC. They paid their first months rent as they went to pay their second months rent they get an email saying that their unit may have been broken into. When my daughters boyfriend called them they said they had tried to call but no one answered which was a lie. They advertised through the school so the kids took that as an endorsement. After filing a report with the police department they were told this happens here all the time. Apparently there are no cameras either just absentee owners and no one on site so that does not mean safe and secure storage read more

I have been a customer of this storage location for MANY YEARS !!! (approx. the year 2000) I was a customer before this location was bought out and changed to Red Dot. Before it changed to Red Dot it was a pretty good place for storage. The only thing that was a bad mark before Red Dot was they had no internet pay bill sight. They had someone at the location that could take care of issues and take payments. She was very nice and tended to the customers needs. I emptied my 5x10 unit on Friday 7-9-21, swept it out, took my personal locks, and shut the door. I have been trying to get a customer service agent to go through the closing of account process MANY times and finally got through 7-13-21. I asked about partial refund of this month's rent and was told they don't have that service even though I was out before half of the month of making my monthly rent payment. I am sure if I had not made payment they would have been More than happy to put a hold on my locker. Paying a full month for 9 days seems a bit greedy and NON CUSTOMER caring for not offering a partial refund. I have had back and neck surgery so I had to take the help when it presented itself. Even though I have been a long time customer I did not visit the location very often I just kept paying them rent for YEARS !!!!. I was totally shocked to see the front SECURITY GATE in two pieces when I went to empty my unit. I am not sure how long this has been like this but that added since of a Security Gate is a large part of what a persons rent should be expected. This Security Gate being broken has left the place open to ANYONE being able to make them selves at home to all of the lockers at this location. Due to the gate issue, things I have read in recent reviews, and having the help to make the move has made me more than determined to get out while I can. I was lucky not to have been broken into and have my things left to move out. I would not recommend this Red Dot location for consideration of your storage needs unless things change. As much as the rent has gone up and the MANY years of paying rent to this place there is no reason they can not give back partial monthly payments to long time customers !!!! read more

The worst... There have been several break-ins. Some of the units smell like cat pee. Never any management on site if you need help. I would never recommend this place. The old storage owners were much better. When it changed over to Red Dot, the place fell apart. read more

We moved my daughters things in the storage unit the second week of May 2017, the first week of June we received a call from the police dept stating that there were break ins at the location and we needed to come there to see if anything was taken. The company never called to say that this happened, and when we called we were told that was a lie and nothing is in the system. But how did the police dept get the name and phone number of my daughter and the exact storage unit if this wasn't the case. We don't live in the town that the unit was in this is how we store her items on summer break from college. We were then told that you have to make an appointment to come there and then they will take the lock off and we can replace the lock. Fast Forward to today, we are on the way down to the facility, we are told that they cant reach the manager that we have to wait until they are there for them to be at the location. I was told by a customer service agent that refused to give her name employee number that she was the supervisor and that she wasn't transferring me to the anyone else because she was it. Mind you again, we put our things in their unit where its supposed to be secure and they have cameras and etc, but they can't call the manager who I find out lives in the town to come and take the lock off. This company has 500 plus units in this one location. at the least they make $37000 a month in rental fees. The don't even have the courtesy to call and see if the manager was there. Even after being told that you are coming from out of town, that you had to take off work to even come there. nothing. just so happens that the manager was on the property and he took off the lock. Was told that they can call him and he would come over right away. NO CALLS from anyone. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at all. NEVER NEVER NEVER use their service, because its all about the money. They don't have any problems with not being truthful and wanting your money but not providing what you need. read more
