Tomato, roasted red pepper and curry soup

Although my star rating hasn't changed, I thought it was important to note that although it's been two years since my last review here, it's still a phenomenal place. Not only is the service consistently above average, but the food is outstanding. I still can't believe this place is such a well kept secret outside the city. We brought my mama, Diane B here for Mother's Day this year, and I dealt with Sue, the manager, while making reservations. They normally don't take reservations for parties under eight, but since it was a special occasion she booked us in for a Mother's Day dinner at 7 p.m. Our service was exceptional from the hostess and server to speaking with Sue at the end of the evening. I started off with an amazing roasted red pepper, tomato and curry soup that was tangy, rich a positively bursting with flavour. My sister and Dad both ordered it and loved it as well. I split a plate of sweet potato fries with my sis, which were perfectly crispy and yum, and for my main I ordered my go-to - the taco salad which is so fresh and delicious I can't help but order it almost every time. The crowing glory at this place is always the dessert. They always have a few classics like their Sticky Toffee Cake, and Apple Crisp, but this time I opted for the Peanut Butter Pie - divine. I also sampled by sister's chocolate mousse cake and my dad's snickers pie. I think the snickers was definitely the best one, but they were also amazing - you can't go wrong here. They do have a few gluten-free dessert options as well, which is nice! It's well worth the trip outside the city to try this place. They have an outside seating area which is lovely during the summer.

Have been going to the Red Dot Cafe since they opened over 20 years ago but hadn't been in some time. Took the kids on Thursday night which is half price kids meal night. I ordered the roast beef dip and upgraded to sweet potato fries. The dipping sauce they serve with the sweet potatoes fries is so delicious. My son had the chicken tenders and fries off the main menu. My daughter ordered her usual penne pasta with Alfredo sauce off the kids menu which includes a drink and gummy worms for dessert. At the half price ($4) this is a great deal as she had enough leftovers for dinner the next day. Everything was delicious and hot. Atmosphere is welcoming. Didn't have room for any of their awesome desserts this visit.

Club on whole wheat with sweet potato fries...awesome!

It's a cute place and a staple of the town around it, but it's nothing crazy. Wholesome food and pleasant staff.

The cafe is adorable with a lovely fireplace but even better is the healthy, unique menu which includes smoothies, juices, desserts, and entrees. Since we had recently eaten breakfast we got a juice, smoothie, stuffed grapefruit, and yogurt/granola bowl. Everything was delicious. Hope we can time a stop here on our travels back through the area.

They have some seating available, including floor cushions. There is a sign that states limit to one hour when busy which I can understand. We arrived shortly before the post Iftar rush. It got very busy very quickly. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed as they get through all customers. We waited to have our order taken but sat down when they were busy. Eventually we placed our order and waited. Since we only got an adani chai and kunafa, we got our items quickly. The Adana chai was cooked well, it was creamy and flavourful. We got sugar sticks $.75 the concept it great, however, the stick breaks very quickly leaving your drink incredibly sweet so make sure to not leave it in there if you want a somewhat sweet tea. The kunafa was $12 for a piece. This was dissatisfying, it appeared to be re-heated because that was definitely not a fresh kunafa. It was dry and around the edges. We only had a few bites and left it. Overall, They have a large selection of drinks to choose from, and sandwiches. It appears to be incredibly busy during Ramadan but I will definitely come back to have the tea again.

I got takeout and got the Liver Platter $14.15, which was liver with onions, bell peppers and chili peppers. It came with Tanoor bread, which is a flat bread. The liver was piping hot and very flavourful, but some pieces were a bit tough with chewy pieces I couldn't eat. I was disappointed that the bread was not warm, just room temperature, but it was soft and chewy and still ok. The Liver Platter is their most popular dish. The inside of the cafe is nice. There are some regular tables, some high tables and some low tables where you sit on cushions. Those tables are pretty but they were occupied, so I couldn't take a picture for y'all. There's a live bird in a cage in the cafe, a musical instrument on the wall and other cool decorations. My visit was during the Covid-19 Pandemic and mask mandates were still in effect. However, I noticed that one of the people working there (I think he's the owner, bald guy) was interacting with customers at a distance of less than 6 feet (not behind plexiglass) while not wearing a mask. The young guy sweeping the floors was wearing a mask (and he wore it the entire time I was there), but the bald guy wasn't when I entered the cafe. As I was waiting for my food, more people came in and at that point he put on a mask, but it was so loose, I could see nose. This is what I observed. The cafe seems cozy and I like the decor. I may consider returning once the Pandemic is over. The cafe is in a little plaza (same plaza as Pizza Hut) and there's free parking in the shared parking lot.

It's not too far from my children's school so I decided to give it a shot when I had about 90 minutes to fill after drop off. I am grateful I made the drive. This bustling cafe is super cozy and the staff were all extremely friendly. The cafe also sells beer and wine. Plus, they have kombucha on tap! I purchased a blueberry peach scone (will definitely be back to try the chocolate salted caramel) and a honey cinnamon matcha latte. The scone was not overly sweet, but still had a great flavour. The matcha was as good as the ones I've gotten downtown Ottawa. It was blended nicely and did not have any matcha chunks...love! Highly recommend if you are in the area and will definitely be back to try their food menu.

The interior is relaxing and charming with a mix of old and modern styles. The wall mural adds to the overall feel of the space. Staff are also charming. Very kind, welcoming, flexible and customer oriented. Menu is succinct but sufficient. Likely everyone can find something to eat. And, there's a large slection of scones and cookies to choose from, to go with coffee. My Date with Apple sandwich was delicious. Managed to get a bite of Hub'a Rueben, also excellent. All in all, a good stop.
