We were initially given a quote to complete a home in November with a 30x40 attached garage for $463,000, but just prior to signing a real estate contract this week, the price increased by $80,000 to $543,000 with no explanation. The only items we requested be added were a covered porch and rear patio, which added up to about $20,000 per the actual contractor quote we were sent. There is no reason the price should have jumped by $80,000. The sales person did not bother to reach out to us to follow up. Instead I had to contact both her and the new office manager myself. I have received conflicting explanations on the reasoning for this dramatic increase. The sales person told me the corporate office and new management has mandated "new pricing", and the new office manager stated all utilities including septic, electric, and water hookups were somehow "missed" in the initial estimate, even though they are clearly listed. My husband has requested a detailed breakdown of the new estimate to better understand where the number $543,000 came from, but he has received absolutely no response. The new office manager stated that if we wish to move forward we can do a standard size garage with no covered porch or rear patio, but the price would be $515,000, which is still over $50,000 more than what we were initially quoted for a home with a large garage. Needless to say, we will not be moving forward with this company. We have bought and sold multiple homes previously, and this is by far the most unprofessional company we have ever encountered. Avoid Clayton Homes as they clearly lack ethics and integrity.

All of the other cabins have cute string lights, this one has a porch light that barely illuminates. The front door?? Has a lock that is definitely more for the interior of a home, it provided no security. I called the host a good 5 times to book and she never answered or called back. I should have taken that as a sign on what a dump this place was. I finally submitted an inquiry on their website and thats when she finally answered via email with a simple link to book.No other conversation. The day of check in, I asked her to please call me, at this point, you'd be right to guess she never responded. We didnt hear from her about check in or check out, literally the worst host, I would NEVER stay here again. How was the wifi?? It aint happening, the wifi was as useless as flip flops in the snow. The satellite dish completely useless you can only watch a show in 15 min increments because it constantly freezes. Never again.

We called her based on her superb reviews and on short notice, we were able to meet with her to check out a house we were interested in the next day. She was already familiar with the property and knew helpful details about the property, such as why the previous contract fell through. When we decided it was not the right property for us, she came to us with another property that was not even on the market yet. Needless to say, this was our dream property and we were able to land it at a competitive price before it even went on the market thanks to Christina's connections and determination to find her clients the perfect property. Christina offers an extremely friendly and low pressure approach, while at the same time shrewdly negotiating on behalf of her clients. Since we were new to Durango, she took the time to tell us about the various businesses and amenities around town and near our new property, and is still providing us recommendations even after we closed on our house. Working with Christina feels like working with a friend who genuinely cares about your best interests and getting you your dream house. Since we were selling a house in another town, we had to go with another realtor as our selling agent who ended up being a very poor negotiator and difficult to work with. Christina was willing to discuss the challenges and concerns regarding this other agent and provide great guidance that not only helped calm me but also gave me negotiating tips that I was able to bring back to my selling agent. When our buyers were threatening to back out of the deal, Christina suggested that I provide a justification and list of comps showing the value they were getting from our home. I did that and truly believe it was critical in convincing the buyers to keep the contract. All this for a house she wasn't even representing. In what can be an incredibly confusing and stressful process of home buying, Christina is able to make it as smooth and easy as possible with her vast experience and market knowledge, willingness to answer questions and overall kindness. She is an amazing person and you will not regret choosing Christina as your realtor!

It was nice, clean, well-equipped, perfect temperature (adjustable) and had a cute little balcony. It was a few minutes walk from both main street and the train station; we didn't drive for two days! A few things to note: there is no room service (at least during our stay), the front desk closes at 9p - like most of the town, the vanity is a little dim for makeup and there are no vending machines or any way to buy drinks or snacks at the hotel. There is also a $12 parking fee per day that was not listed when we made the reservation. Overall, it was an excellent choice! Looking forward to our next stay.
