I was looking for momos and came across Red Chilli. I have tried a few other places that serve momos but the flavor here is just splendid compared to others. I usually order the chicken momo which comes with 10 pieces and a side sauce. The chicken is marinated very well and the outside of the momo isn't too thick. Definitely recommend! The other items i've tried here are the chili chicken roll, mango lassi, lamb curry, and the butter chicken. The rolls have great flavor and if you want it spicy, they will actually make it spicy unlike other places who claim to do so. Superb food and service. I went with a buddy last night after seeing a healthy rating on yelp and am already ready to go back. The naan came out piping hot, perfectly fluffy, nicely seasoned, and most importantly, dippable. We got the coconut curry and butter chicken - both oozing in flavor, spices, and tender meat. The excess of creamy sauce in each dish stood no chance of being left as the naan happily sponged up any hint of visible liquid. Amazing food! Unpretentious store front with a busy take out service. Inside seating with 4 tables all facing a very busy kitchen. The aroma of the food just fills the place. We ordered onion naan that was served piping hot and filled with red onions. Lamb tiki masala was tender and flavors in the sauce were perfectly balanced. Love this place. The staff are young and energetic. Waiting for my food, felt like I was in the middle of fast growing indian startup company. The dining room was not busy, but they were doing a brisk takeout business. Indian food is a regular part of my diet, but I am fairly new to Himalayan/Nepalese cuisine. Absolutely delicious and very affordable...what a value! The food presentation was good, the dishes were fresh, the garlic naan was light, fluffy and flavorful, and the saag paneer was spiced just right (with slices of ginger on top). I ordered the vegetable momos since I had never tried them before and there were many reviews. The dough is mixed with spinach (hence the green color) and it is a delightful blend of veggies, curry and other spices that have a serious kick! I had to keep my water on hand after trying the momo sauce, but it was all good. The chutneys are a must - they set the meal off. Try the chai tea...I am not a big fan of milk, but it is free and worth trying. The staff was super nice, and even though I came around closing time, they didn't sacrifice on customer service. The host even shared some insight on how they prepare the food, customs specific to Nepal, and the fact that they have only been around for 1 year. Ice cold. Sullen delivery guy. GrubHub informed me that after repeated calls the restaurant would not issue a credit. My review is only based on the vegetarian food we had at this place. We got their thali ($13.99?), way too overpriced as when compared to the other dishes in the restaurant. The 3 curries/sides it came with were either bland or had a weird smell. We only ended up eating the rice that came with it. We also ordered one saag paneer and okra curry. The saag was manageable but the okra was bland and oily. We also got the chole batura. The batura was not puffed and was also super thick. A typical batura is fully puffed. The chole on the other hand was again bland. Blandness seems to be ruling quality in most of the dishes. read more

Wow! Excellent butter chicken! I was very, very hesitant to go in. It's not in the nicest part of town, and I think it's next to a homeless shelter in the middle of downtown San Francisco. However, I am SO GLAD I took the risk. The decor is very simple, and the size is incredibly limited. Its saving grace is probably the fact that you can get it on Grub Hub (Door Dash?). The Tikka Masala for instance has an a really unique flavor that you can't find elsewhere in the city. That + Garlic Nan = Heaven. I'm not a fan of spicy, but my friends that are say that this place can live up to its name. I would caution your decision with the spice levels (you can always add more!). Can I give 100 stars?!?! I have been to Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, Wyoming, Oregon and Washington and this is by far the best authentic Nepali food I have had in the U.S! I highly recommend the Nepali thali set which is exactly like the thakali thali in Nepal! I had the chicken option and my family had goat and vegetable curry- all of them were top notch! The price was also very reasonable! We also had the chicken and vegetable momos. The momo sauce was sooooo yummy! The chicken momo was juicy and full of flavor. The vegetable momo was so savory and satisfying! I don't know about any of the other dishes but the Nepali thali set and momos were absolutely authentic and mouthwatering.
