We received your formal letter requesting that we no longer use your facility. Notably, there was no acknowledgment or expression of sympathy for our loss. That omission speaks volumes. It appears your primary concern is financial, rather than the care and well-being of the animals you serve. That is deeply disappointing. As a result of this experience, we have shared our concerns publicly. Please know that we will not be returning, and we would never entrust our animals to your care again. read more

the people that work here are very professional and compassionate we had to take our baby for forever sleep I'm glad we chose this place. they Made our experience calm I haven't had to do this before and they were very caring. They came out to our car to make it easier on our baby and us. and they are very affordable not saying money was an issue but if your low income I'd give them a thought read more

Took my senior dog for a dental/cleaning and was very happy with the service. Dr. S and Shelby were friendly and knowledgable. My girl's teeth came out shining and she was in good spirits after surgery. I know the staff is so sweet with her. The front desk gals were welcoming and responsive to any questions or needs. My only disappointment was a lack of communication that extractions had been done until I came to pick up. The unexpected cost was..unexpected; but, more so, I would have liked to have been involved in that decision. Dr. S was courteous to speak with me during discharge, and I appreciated that. I suggest an intake process that includes reviewing an estimate and pre-authorizations for additional services, as well as making contact to update if things change. I feel like that would have improved my experience. Overall, a great place to take your pup! Would recommend to anyone in search of a local vet. read more

overall the few times i've taken my 2 small dogs to this location the experiences have been good except, my female little dod has bad bad allergies, and if i recall acurately, i informed the 1st clinician that prednisone dosent work on sally , except just the first maybe week. and were still in the same situation with her so im hoing back again. like i said i do like the staff, very professional, i just need some medication for my girl thsts going to help her continuously. going back in a few days!!! thank you read more

Dr. Jon is GREAT. Compassionate, easy going, kind. However, Leigh is the exact opposite. Rude, seems annoyed when you ask her questions & accused me of saying I would not give my cat meds. A lie. She just didn't like me asking if he could have a shot rather then the oral meds. He had an abscess and he hides under the King Sized bed. We have to gently shift him out using a broom handle. Totally stressing to our cat AND to us. Her take on this is my not willing to give him meds. We will miss Dr. Jon but we will never return to this practice. read more

The vets here are wonderful - as well as the front staff. I've seen both Leigh and Jon for various reasons. With four dogs we seem to be here monthly. The only small draw back is this is a small facility with only two rooms and lots of customers. That said it's always busy and often there's a wait, but nothing awful. read more

We saw our 6 yr old pet lab, Walker deteriorate after seeking help from the Red Bluff Vet Clinic initially. Walker had developed a 3 inch circular swollen lump on his cheek and had severe ear problems, so I made an appointment for Dec. 22nd. We reported that he was occasionally spitting up, hardly eating, and at weigh in, had lost 5 lbs. in just a week The Vet said that blood from the ear caused the swelling. She gave him a Depo-Medrol steroid shot, that can cause nausea and vomiting, bloating and suppress the immune system for blood disorders. Adverse reactions to Depo-Medrol: Anaphylactoid effects, anaphylaxis and angio-edema. 2nd vet said that it should not have been injected into Walker. The Vet, also gave the Rabie shot after, she told us that it had to be given because it is a State mandatory regulation. Note from an RX medical summary: AVOID Rabie's vaccine, as you might get the vaccine med to prevail negatively. The Vet's theory was that Walker's main problem was an allergy problem, so loaded us up with Apoquel allergy pills to take home, that cost $162.00 a bottle, which also can cause effects like vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, serious risks involving susceptibility to infections, as skin EAR and blood change; requiring monitoring to dogs, as it also suppresses the immune system. Walker wanted to stay outside to make it easier to breathe, and he would withdraw. After the 27th he stopped eating, and his cheek was still swollen. We learned that it is documented that a Vet must assess the dog's illness, and if it makes the vaccination risky, and could possibly cause anaphylaxes, which could lead to death, avoid it. This information should have been disclosed to us, so we could have decided, if we wanted to possibly risk Walker's life. He didn't improve, so on the 30th we took him into The Cottonwood Animal Clinic, after calling the Red Bluff Clinic and they said they were too booked, so could not see him or call us. The Cottonwood Clinic shot him up with a Cerenia injection that caused more adverse side effects and also made an 3/4 inch incision below the swollen cheek to drain it. Walker died on News Year's day gasping for air, as he was having respiratory distress, and tachycardia. I heard sloshing sounds in his lungs and belly when I was trying to revive him; still oozing blood drops from his mouth side. We believe that Walker's body was so overwhelmed by everything put into his body, that he had alot of adverse reactions, that took his life. read more

I have been taking all.my animals to Red Bluff Vet. Clinic for over 15 years. The staff is compassionate and very helpful. Dr. John as I call him is excellent and listens to your concerns and puts your mind at ease! The other Vet is excellent also, I can't think of her name at the moment, but she saw my new puppy the other day and was great and told.me.everything I needed to know and when I could get her spayed. In the beginning I had gone to the other Vets in town and Red Bluff Veterinary is the best! I will not go anywhere else! read more

Red Bluff Veterinary Clinic - This is my new puppy Bella! - Veterinarians Near Me - Red Bluff, California

I'm getting extremely upset with the price of veterinary care, especially since I'm on SS alone. My dog was perfectly healthy, but I was made to have a heartworm test and charged me 80$. I've never paid more than 35$. I'm finding that veterinarians are much more concerned about money than about our pets. People are either going to have pets put down because costs are too high or ignore health issues. A friend had her cat put down because she couldn't pay the costs and the vet was glad to do it rather than help the person save her cat. This infuriated me. We are going to end up with a mass amount of animals in shelters, which are overcrowded as is, because the costs are already too high to get them fixed. I'm upset to know that vets care more about their bottom line than the needs of my animals. I find it sad because I like everyone here, but, please, how rich do you need to be? Compassion is lacking. read more

Love the staff here! They take excellent care of our many pets and always go above and beyond!

RECEPTIONIST IS VERY RUDE!! I had called to ask a couple of questions. One was of the estimate price for an ear exam, and if the rabies shot came with the exam or separate. She had answered those questions OK but as soon as I asked the price for their spay and neuter services, she scoffed, and said "if I was just shopping around for prices" because she "had another person on hold". Mind you, the call wasn't even a minute long. If the receptionist is this comfortable being this rude i can't even imagine the rest of the staff. DO BETTER. read more

Today 6/22/20, I called the office at around 9am to make an appointment for my puppy that is 8 weeks tomorrow. I've never been to this location and I must say, I will not be choosing to take my pup here because the receptionist was horrible. She had the worst customer service, she was not friendly whatsoever and did not make me look forward to my visit with my puppy at all. She proceeded to inform my that my dog should still be with his mother (because he is 8 weeks) & that was a sensitive subject for me because his mother passed. Anyhow, a little bit of nice customer service would be greatly appreciated especially if they would like people to visit their veterinary. read more

Terrible service! Just took my new puppy there and they are soooooo rude!! Will he looking for another vet!

Do NOT go to this place. My dog weighs 4 lbs and needs 2 teeth pulled. They wouldn't give me an appointment because I told them I had one tomorrow but I would like to have a "second opinion" due to finances. The girl in the front was so rude and refused to make an appointment nor would they even suggest what I could do to help my dogs pain in the meantime. NO compassion and obviously are ONLY in it for the money. I wouldn't suggest taking your animal there unless you want to pay to be treated like you (the one paying the bill) are an idiot. Such a shame these people are working for animals and only see them as $$$ signs. read more

Now this is strange to say the least....My regular vet for my dogs is an hour away. I called Red Bluff Veterinary Clinic this morning and explained my situation. I just needed them to clean up a wound that my 15 year old Yorkie had created overnight. She decided to scratch a bump on the top of her head to a sad bloody spot. She would NOT let me clean it! I just needed them to clean it, that's it! As we all know for some reason our pets will not let us do what they let a vet do. The girl I spoke to said they were not set up to do it... HUH? WHAT? A Vet is not set up to clean a wound??.... May I ask what you are "set up to do." STRANGE! Of course even living here in Red Bluff I would NEVER use this vet! G. Manies read more

absolutely terrible service. Took my cats to get spayed and there was no consult about them eating or being in heat? Picked them up a few hours later and the girls handed me the crate with the cats and said "you're good". would not recommend. read more

Have taken our animals here for years, usually with good luck, however not lately. Our cat was misdiagnosed multiple times... I then started researching the sores in his mouth myself and last weekend started treating him myself with significant improvement. He was eating, active, and the sores were healing and about half the size. Took him in yesterday for a follow-up and now regret doing so. They insisted we vaccinate him at the visit, and being medical professionals we questioned it. He wasn't completely over this illness that has been ongoing for over a month, but they assured us he would be fine. By this morning he felt hot, lethargic, wouldn't eat, and couldn't stand. I called them twice today telling them something wasn't right. They assured me this was a normal reaction after a vaccination. I should have trusted my gut. He died this evening... and we are all heart broken. The rest of my animals will not be returning. read more

I found a kitten hurt on the road and took it in to see this vet. The blonde girl at front desk was so rude I couldn't believe it!!! She only said you know you are financially responsible for the animal (wouldn't even look in the box and see the kitten) i of course was taking financial resp. Then she said do you have an appt? I said no i just found the baby cat on the road. She said well, we only take appts no walk ins. She was heartless and incredibly RUDE. I will NEVER go back and will tell all I know about this unpleasant, unprofessional service received at this vet clinic. I don't see how someone could be such a rude, uncaring person. She could have referred me to an emergency vet office or at least looked at the cat. She had cold eyes and cold heart. read more

Red bluff vet has been our vet since 2009 or 2010 ,we have had exceptional care and support from the vet. We have had Dr Suttfin and his wife work on our animals and even Dr Murhoff .We used to fix stray cat colonies and they always took good care of us and our cats. I see a lot of bad reviews about people running into rude receptionist, but that has nothing to do with the experience and care of the veterinary team behind the scenes. everyone's entitled to have some stressful days ,not every encounter in customer service is a home run. My family and I refer anyone over to them. They have given us openings when they had none, seen us and charged us normal rates for some stuff that should've been emergency visits. When I call to check in on my pets they answer and give me updates. Today I dropped off my pup to be spayed and the vet tech came out and greeted my dog with a smile and weighed her, gave her a hug and picked her up and told me she's in good hands. I felt at ease, because this is the treat I get everytime. I know when my animals leave here they feel better and I leave happy knowing they treated them like family. read more

Will most definitely not bring either of our dogs back here. Our little guy got neutered and the ladies over the phone couldn't answer my questions very well when I called, and also weren't helpful when we picked him up. All they did was hand him to us with his pain meds and sent us on our way. Nothing about his restrictions or what we needed to do the next few weeks, etc.. I also asked if he needed a cone and they said sure... but we'd have to buy one from them. Paid to have him neutered but couldn't even get a plastic cone read more

Excellent doctor and staff! Took great care of my dog, will be going for all my veterinary needs

Where do I start. When I first started taking my fur babies to this clinic the dr and staff were amazing. But the new gals they have hired in the last few weeks are horrible. Zero customer service on the phone and in the office and zero compassion for anyone. And the Dr seem only to care about the money not what's best for your animals. I will be getting my pet records and taking my business else where. I miss the other staff. read more

Our dogs have received the best of care here. I highly recommend them.. from emergency surgery's for bladder stones to caring for puppies with parvovirus and . Recently a lumpectomy from our sweet Simone. Thank you all for your care and compassion read more

We have been taking our dogs to this vet for almost 7 years. They helped us with treatment for epilepsy for our old chihuahua and were very compassionate when it was time for him to be put to sleep. They have been nice and patient with each of my dogs, even our unsocialized girl. I'm thankful that I have found such a great vet clinic. I will always bring my dogs back here until the day they close their doors (which I hope is never!). It also helps that their prices are reasonable and they recommend treatments that are actually needed instead of prescribing extras that aren't needed just for an extra buck. read more

Due to the lack of vets in red bluff that are close to me, I've taken my dogs back to this vet. I have not seen the rude lady from my first review there anymore. For the most part the gals behind the desk are polite, but you can still tell that they don't like being asked any questions or talked to much so I just save it for the doctor now. I've been lucky the last few times to of seen the Old Doc.. he absolutely makes my day everytime and makes me forget anything else in the office that might lack lustre. The last time my dogs seen a young gal, not sure if she was a doc or assistant but I felt like I was bothering her with my questions. one thing positive that I can say is that the vet will work with people on pricing if they are able to, they've done it for me a few times so for me that neutralizes anything negative in this office. read more

I will never go to this clinic again! They advertise emergency services after hours for regular clients, but when my dog was sick nobody was available. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT to get you in there. That's the closest emergency hospital that would see her. read more

A friend found a pup in the street starving and hit by a car. He took it to Red Bluff Vet Clinic. Think Dr Sufi's did a good job but his office staff are crazy. I agreed to pay the vet bills so tried to make an appt. They said no, I was not authorized, privacy laws they said. Then I tried to order medication the Dr had prescribed as it was $4 on line and he charged $28. They turned down four times without any explanation. The guy who found the dog called them and authorized me on the account but they said legally they cannot have two people on an account with different last names. That's a new one! So they turned it down again and said I could not order the dogs medication , by law. Would love someone to show me what law book they got this out of. Seems a stretch as all I am trying to do is pay for services and medication for a little stray. I have done this for my neighbor at a different clinic and for a stranger I saw at the vets who did not have enough money. Sad place that won't even try to work with you. read more

I strongly disagree with these reviews. All of the staff is absolutely wonderful and very easy to work with. Always accommodate last minute appointments, have even talked me through emergency situations over the phone. If your looking for "cheap" maybe you should consider that before becoming a pet owner. I have never seen the women vet so I can't speak for that but as far as Jon and his staff hands down the best team. Also yes they do have young people in the office, those young people are working and learning. Young people are the next generation why not start young.
