I was given a robe and slides to wear. I went in the changing room to change and went to the relaxation room to relax. One thing about it. This place was busy! The relaxation room was a bit full, which wasn't all that relaxing for me. While I waited, I had to fill out a form which goes over a few medical things and asks if there's any particular areas you'd like them to focus on or avoid. Next, I was called in for my massage. Both times her hair & makeup were done by the same artists. Hair was done by Marlee. My daughter showed her pictures for inspiration, and she has very thick, curly hair to work with. For the chignon style, it down-poured all day, so we struggled to keep it perfect, and the style was the pieces in front, so they didn't quite curl the same once home, but that was not to fault Marlee. Plus, my daughter insisted they be "wavy", though not my taste. Marlee gave her what SHE wanted, and she felt beautiful both times. All a mom could hope for. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the young woman who did her makeup, (perhaps Jenna based on names I just looked up, but I cannot guarantee), but she gave her two completely different looks (a 1950's glam-type, then more of a smoky eye the 2nd time) based on her dresses and knocked it out of the park. The space is warm and cozy--very welcome last night as it was 25 degrees outside. My shoulders were up to my ears, I had numbness down my right arm and right leg. I felt as if I were being stabbed in the neck. Before she even started, Cheri gave me desk exercises to do so I didn't have this problem again. She explained how she was going to massage me as a whole person, not just knotted muscles. I honestly yessed her, to just get started I was in so much pain. Within 15 minutes I could feel my body start to relax. She didn't even touch the bad parts--well not where typical massuses go. She hit various points simultaneously, and I am going to sound redundant, but I kept feeling parts of my body get out of spasm and relax. I am taller and straighter. I don't have any numbness or pain. I slept for the entire night. I didn't move from where my head hit the pillow. This NEVER happens. And a full day at the desk, using the techniques she taught me...MAGIC. My shoulders are still normal and I'm not hobbling when I stand up. If you are looking for real benefits, this is your place.
