I was told that one of the two lines wasn't meant for that use. At first Paul, was going to fix the damage the fire caused. But then he found a way to get out of doing repairs. I had no idea one of the lines was not meant to be used for transmission fluid. I asked him to check out the brake lines etc., after the engine was removed. I guess no one caught the line until he was looking for a way out. My mistake was not reminding him, of checking all the lines out, I thought a five-star shop would catch this mistake. So last time i talked to him ,he was, let's just say not as nice, as he had been before this all happened If he would have just called me and told me he had found this out, but waited till i called ,He kept saying I'm not paying for that hack job that a Pryer shop had done. If i did not have a fire extinguisher in my truck , I might have lost the whole truck, & there would be no way to tell of the bad line. So as bad as it was ,it could have been worse...

"Caveat Emptor" Went to Fix-It with Fred for a needed oil change and the air conditioner was…read moreblowing warm air. Dropped the car off told them the problems and mentioned, when braking, the car pulled a little to the left. Later they called with a diagnostic fee which seemed a little high but wanted it fixed. Someone called back the next day told me they had changed the oil and recharged the air conditioning and found leaks at both Schrader valves which they replaced (part of the diagnostic fee I imagine) and I needed $2000 worth of brake work, (front pads and rotors, rear shoes and drums, front calipers, BG brake system service). My response was, "that is a third of what the car was worth, put it back together and the car will be picked up. A total of $2875.81 of work and parts were declined by me. " Just to be on the safe side, two weeks later the same vehicle was taken to another auto repair shop to have the brakes checked, their receipt says "Inspect brakes, approximately 50% -OK". The brakes are working fine. There is probably a large gap as to what is needed for vehicle repairs and what the manufacturers suggests and how much money you have.

I bought 4 tires in the fall of 2020. After about 5000 miles I took my car to Van's to have them…read morerotated. They did that and added that I needed a front right ball joint replaced. The quote was for $232 for the ball joint and an alignment. Alignments cost $90 and the ball joint costs $24 so the labor was going to run an extreme $118 for about 20 minutes work. I declined to schedule that and instead took a new ball joint to my mechanic. He informed me that my ball joints were fine and no replacement was needed. So, the takeaway here, they lied about the ball joint and they were going to overcharge me for the labor. Do not go to Van's!!!
