Dr. Barker performed surgery, and thoroughly cleaned out the wound, and the cat is doing doing great. He has performed a C-section on a goat that couldn't deliver, neutered many of my male goats, and as painlessly as can be done, and provided many other interventions for my animals. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Barker's abilities and the attentiveness of his staff. You will not find a more caring, competent, and inexpensive place to have all your pet needs met. We have been going to Locust Fork Animal Clinic ever since they have opened. Today we had the worst…read moreexperience you could possibly think of with a personal owned business. Our dog was scheduled to have surgery this morning. We was asked to be there at 8am. This surgery was previously tried a few weeks back but our dog's anxiety and heart rate caused her not to be able to do it. Michelle McDonald told my grandmother we could try again but my Nana could go back and be with her until the surgery actually started. Her exact words "I normally don't allow my clients to do this, but we can under your circumstances". Today we get there at 7:40am before they even open. The staff she had up front was acting like that was never discussed which is a lie. It was several different times. One of the ladies acted like she went to talk to the vet about it and came back up to the other lady at the desk and said something to her. About 15 minutes later the older lady says "There was a note left for you yesterday, that says you are not to go back"... that was a lie. They just wrote it to make us feel like it was noted that we couldn't. To the bigger picture...... that was the last we heard from anyone really til about 3 hours later. We had 3 different staff tell us 3 different times in between this conversation our dog would be next on the surgery list. Even the vet herself said she was the second dog to my grandmother... After about 4 dogs had went back and 2 hours later we was getting concerned why she wasn't called back. My grandmother is on oxygen and it was running extremely low because of how long we have been waiting. Around 10:30am I finally walked up to the receptionist, kindly ask when will be called backed because my Nanas oxygen is running low. Not even 5 minutes later Michelle Mcdonald, comes out bends down in my face and ask me if there was a problem. I kindly answer " No ma'am we was just wondering when we will be called back because we have been told we are next several times" she then gets a little closer to my face screams and says "WELL YOU ARE REALLY FCKING PISSIN ME OFF". I was in total shock. She did this in front of the whole lobby. She was making false accusations, saying we was being mean to her when I didn't even speak with her once, and I was very kind to her receptionist, she was making us sound very stupid like we didn't understand anything she was saying, while still vulgarly speaking and cussing at us. She was explaining how stressed out she was, so my grandmother kindly responded with "I understand you are stressed so if that's the case, I really would prefer you not to do the surgery today" Michelle Mcdonald's response was "To be honest, I really didn't want to do her surgery in the first place". That shows her slack of empathy for animals. She doesn't care about her customers or her animals. So unprofessional the way she was cussing and speaking at us in front of the entire lobby. It was humiliating. I have never seen a business speak to their clients the way we was spoke to today. Cussed at, screamed at, humiliated, lied to, acting like actions was made that was not (she claimed someone came out to call us back which was not true) and made us sound like we didn't know what was going on and delusional. This was all because we wanted to know how much longer it was going to be because my Nanas oxygen was running. So unless you want a short-tempered very disrespectful vet. I would not go to Michelle Mcdonald at Locust Fork Animal Clinic. Most unprofessional business owner I have ever seen in my life!!! You do not speak to customers that way!!!!! I'm glad others have had positive experiences, and I wish mine had been the same. I've trusted this vet before too, but what happened today was serious enough that I felt it was important to share. I'm not trying to stir drama--just hoping my experience helps others make informed choices.

They don't even mind when I come by just to check my own weight on their scales! A day or two after you have brought your pet in to see Dr England, do expect a callback from one the staff, to see how your pet is progressing. (Dr England bought the practice from the Price family, after the death of Dr Price, her friend and mentor, a few years ago.)

We moved from Tennessee 8 years ago and were very stressed about finding a vet. Dr. Dieguez and his team have unfortunately seen a lot of Ziggy, Vince and now Grover. This weekend Ziggy our black lab became very sick and I took him late that day where Dr. Linstromberg examined him and gave him barium concerned about an obstruction. Dr. Dieguez came in earlier than planned the following Saturday morning to check on him and planned an exploration (which Ziggy had had before for a corn cob). He had the vet tech take him out right before the surgery and out came what we think was obstructing. Dr. D. had called and texted me that morning and he came up with a plan to watch him all day and come back in that afternoon. Very long story short, that evening he let us come pick Ziggy up to watch him closely at home. Ziggy is doing great with no surgery. Dr. D. and Dr. L. are very knowledgeable and caring vets. The extra care that Ziggy and his staff gave, was over and beyond.

I mean they shaved his face and tail why??? They could have at least called me and asked me if I was ok with them shaving as much as they did. My baby has zero hair left. I gave them a one star because there was not any lesser to give. I dropped my wife's dog (golden…read moredoodle) off and gave them specific instructions (twice) on how to cut him. There was a dog in the office with a similar cut I described. I told them do not touch the tail or the ears. When I left, they seemed to understand. We picked him up a few hours later and I thought they had given her the wrong dog. He got into the truck and he looked as if he had entered boot-camp. They had cut every bit of hair off him with the ecception of about a two inch puff on the tip of the tail. My brother saw him and asked when we got our blue-tick. For those that are unaware a blue-tick is a hound dog. I should have known better and "had" told her to take him somewhere else because last visit when I picked him up, he was gapped so bad it looks like a four-year-old had gotten hold of the scissors and gave their own haircut. Those with children remember those cuts. My advice to you is if you find yourself near this business, hit the gas and don't stop. Unless you want your dog to look like a survivor from P.O.W. camp.

We had a puppy that was literally dropped off by someone we don't know who but it was sick and wouldn't eat so we called this place asking what we should do and they gave us some advice but then acted like we don't take care of our animals and if the woman had of listened correctly she would have heard the fact that it was NOT our puppy and it had just walked up that morning and we called this place as soon as they opened only to get someone who wouldn't help us and the advice she gave wasn't very helpful and definitely was disrespectful. We simply didn't know what to do with this stray puppy that had came from no telling where and it had literally just came up the morning we called this place but instead the woman wanted to say they can't contaminate the other animals and that we needed to take care of our own animals! We have ALWAYS taken care of every animal we have ever had and they have always been taken to the vet and been loved and played with and treated like one of our own family members! We didn't know this puppy and didn't know what to do and I thought it was very rude of her to say we should take care of our own animals and there was nothing she could or would do!! I thought that was what this place was there for to help animals and or help find them shelter if need be. Neither of which was offered to us!
