Shady. Check your weight and agree on clean metal class and price then trust it will be honored since their price board is blank.

I called the body shop and they informed me that the piece disintegrated when they tried to remove it. Unfortunately for me this part is only available at the dealer as a part of a set which was almost $400.00. I called American Auto Salvage and the guy on the phone informed me that they had several Dodge pickups in stock and told me I could come by and look for it. When I got there I forgot to bring a screwdriver to removed the part but the guy at the counter loaned me one. I immediately found a pickup similar to mine which had the part I needed. Unfortunately as the painter told me it disintegrated just as he described. I was able to find another Dodge truck in fairly good shape and was able to get the part off successfully. I was told earlier at the office that there was a $20.00 minimum charge for parts which I happily paid. When I got home the part fit permit on my vehicle. I was very happy with my new friend at American Auto Salvage and will return whenever i need a used hard to find part for my vehicle.

I have been here 3 times in the last several weeks paying closer attention to the scale weights and…read moretype of scrap classification. They change weights and when you bring clean aluminum they classify it as breakage and rob you. I won't be back there are other options. Don't spend your time cleaning high-dollar metal thinking that they are going to give you an accurate or fair payment.

This place is hit or miss. It depends on who you get and if they know / like you. One day I brought…read morein a bunch of steel/tin shelving got $80. The next day I brought literally the same stuff (about the same amount) and got like 47. Just seems like a big gap. Today I brought in a bit of copper. half of it was bare bright copper tubing with walls more than 1/16 in thick... The kid counted it with my number 2 motor wire scraps. At the very least it should have been counted as number 1 copper. I spent the time cleaning all the thermal compound off with alcohol, sanded it, and made sure there was no sauder... and nothing to bitch about. I'm kinda upset about it. He always puts off this vibe like he has a problem with me or something. With the rumors floating around town about me lately... wouldn't surprise me. Who knows, Maybe they have weird standards... its hard to tell what the standards are considering they don't have sorting guidelines posted anywhere. Not online... Not at the site... It's all a big guessing game. If they go by general international standards... That pipe should have been #1 all day long. I didn't notice the receipt till I got home. Didn't realize I needed to keep an eye on people. I would have brought it up with the manager cause he seems like a nice enough guy. Then one day I brought in two 12ft steel pipes (I have a small suv) and they gave me the "unprepared" price instead of kindly asking me to take 1 nut and bolt off. I didn't think it mattered since they were the same type of metal. It was dumb... I could have unscrewed it by hand. Not terrible... could be better. I was kinda happy cause I got called a "regular" today. Unfortunately that was ruined when I got worked on my copper. I'm working on building a copper cell to grow 99.98% fine electrolytic copper plates. It will be interesting to see 1) If they will buy them 2) will they offer a fair price. Cause lets be honest, it takes engineering skill, electro-chemistry knowledge, time and electricity. I'm not doing it for free.
