    Grateful Dead Boot Vinyl

Super impressed! Not quite sure why this place has the rating it does. Tonight, we entered, and were greeted by a super nice gal. Her name was Gail and she gave us great customer service. She asked if we had been before, however it was our first time, so she gave us a full tour and explained the store layout. We found a couple of pretty unique boots that we had never seen before. They had a pretty good selection and a variety of options. Sure, I will agree some of the prices were a bit steep, but when I can I will support this store.

Second time in this shop. No greeting by the owner or employee. Looked around for specific cds/albums we were looking for and couldn't find. Asked the owner, who was still standing at the counter. She absolutely did not want to be bothered, did not want to help. The employee attempted to, then left. We looked around some more on our own and left empty handed. No "thanks for coming" or "goodbye". Zilch. We had money to burn and wanted to burn it, baby!! With the eBay prices and poor customer service (both times), I don't see this place lasting. Won't be back again.

This shop makes for a fun visit. You'll find a nicely curated large vinyl selection and they clean the vinyl with an inhouse ultrasonic cleaning machine before putting anything out for sale. The staff is always friendly and helpful and willing to chat with you. I see a lot of negative reviews which seem to be mostly about cost. This is a curated vinyl store, not a bargain basement kind of place and the prices are going to be higher for a place with curated vinyl. Just my 2 cents.

I think this place is extremely expensive for what it is that they are offering, I think that $45 for a used record is a little bit much.

But I know a few who do and wanted to check out this collection. I was created immediately by staff and we had a short and funny chat as like me, about 30 years ago, at the advent of the CD, we bought the new equipment and let go of most of our. Collections of records . In retrospect maybe premature as they are back. But I'm satisfied with what I have now but value the choices of others with room and time for both. If you are looking for something specific they likely have it here unless extremely obscure. The selection was huge and better organized than many similar retro music stores that I have seen in other cities. These seemed in very good condition though they have random bins of more worn items in the bargain bins on the sidewalk. Go take a look if you have equipment and if not, they may have what you need here too. The staff person told me so but I did not have time to look.

We found our way to Pearl Street mall and asked some shoppers where we could find a dessert place. Apparently Boulder people only eat salads so we were on our own. We walked a few blocks deep into the mall and didn't find anything so we headed back to the car. On a whim we walked past our car to the next intersection to see if there was some dessert place there. The only sweet place we came across was Paradise Found Records. I collect old vinyl and I'll usually stop into a record store to see if they have anything from my wish list. Sean, a bearded, long-haired music aficionado asked if he could help me find anything. I opened up the list on my phone and read off the first one. He went straight to the album and proudly showed it to me. I was shocked. These albums are still on my wish list because they are impossible to find. I named the next one. He walked like a man on a mission and quickly found that one also! He knew exactly where these antique titles were as if he was digging through his own record collection! I was elated, but a little suspicious. Do they have these albums because they're so expensive no one is buying them? I flipped the album over to see the price. SIX DOLLARS! That is unheard of! Years ago used vinyl albums in decent condition were going for $12 and the prices have just gone up from there. Recently I bought a used album for $18. I listened to all the albums as soon as we got home and they sounded great. Oh, why don't we live in Boulder?!

I have heard these guys have ripped off a lot of artists. It's a sham to call yourself an art gallery, these guys are rip off artists. This is not something that happens by mistake. A print shop KNOWS whether they have an artists consent (and contract) to reproduce their work. Poster Scene can pretend to be about art but what they are really about is stealing from the artists who are trying to make a humble living for themselves. Reproducing an image that an artist has created and may be doing a limited run of not only devalues the artists work, but it takes important buyers away from the creator who really depends on making every dollar they possibly can for their creations. Sadly a lot of people have messaged me to let me know they bought "my poster." These people are fans of MY work and thinking they are doing something to support and appreciate me, when the unfortunate truth is they are contributing to shady lowlifes who have no respect for what goes into making a living in the arts. I don't fault anyone who goes and buys a piece of illegally reproduced art but if you are a fan of art- the safe bet is always to buy DIRECTLY from the creator (artist or band) that you want to support. Lotsa fake middlemen out there!

This was a fun find in Nederland…read more I've been a vinyl junkie for years and have slipped off the beaten path over the last few years. This was the necessary kick in the pants I needed. My wife and I were enjoying a nice walk around town and as soon as I saw a record store (in this tiny town, no less) I knew I had hit the jackpot. It's a small shop, though it packs a punch. They were undergoing some maneuvering and restocking on this particular day, so they have an even larger more robust collection than what I happened to see. I always let the record store guide me to ear porn enlightenment. I enjoy many genres of music, but when I visit a shop I read the room and let the music do the talking. Which led me to the reissued release of High On Fire's "Art of Self Defense' a cult classic in the stoner metal realm. Picked it up and bought it on the spot. The employee was super kind and down to earth. I spent a good chunk of time sifting through records, but knew my wife would kill me if I spent too much time in there. Now I get to add a wonderful record store to my Nederland excursions. Consider me a happy camper!
