I learned a ton chatting with him and enjoyed that part the most about my experience. I went in a couple months later for my free tuneup and had the same great experience, then just a few days later I accidentally left my banjo in my hot car and got some string buzzing, but I brought it back in (thankfully it was nothing serious) and they kindly fixed it that same day at no charge. They also made the process of selling my guitar a breeze. I never leave reviews but this was an exceptional experience. I'm so glad I decided to shop local. Knowing I can drop by anytime for help or advice is priceless.

I recently had my Roland Stage synth worked on by Bob who is the owner and Tech for TSR . Since the man who use to work on my Hammond and Leslie set ups and my synths for over 20 years passed away within the past 2 years I have been in limbo trying to find someone with the knowledge and capability to fix whatever i would need fixing with my equipment . I called TSR and talked to Bob who is down to earth and a stellar musician himself playing keyboards . When I dropped off my Roland Stage it was so distorted that every voice from the piano to the strings were awful to listen to . Within a few weeks I called Bob and it was ready for pickup and the problem was solved and not a miner problem either. Just getting to the repair was a feat in itself , layers of boards had to be taken off to get to the issue . I also could not believe the fair price Bob charged me and in the world of musical repair it was shocking how fair Bob is . I have now dropped off a Peavey CS1000 power amp that was said to be not worth fixing as it would be to much money for labor . It is now ready for the studio again all fixed . I now have my Roland Juno 6 Synth at TSR being cleaned up so I can hit the stage with it again . It's in amazing near excellent shape and just needs a bit of TLC under the hood. My next keyboard after the Juno 6 to be at TSR will be the very first 1966 Doric compact organ my parents bought me when I was playing Frat houses at 14. The bottom line is this ,,,would I ever take these fantastic Keyboards and Organs to someone learning the trade ,,,Heck no,,,I usually do not write reviews because folks usually have their own opinions anyway , but if anyone is in need of equipment repair weather it be keyboards , speakers or amps do yourself a favor and call Bob at TSR You will be as happy as I am I'm sure . They may not have the huge selection of Best Buy but they have a nice selection of tvs, stereos, and speakers to fit just about every need and price range. And the prices are just as good as best buy. The guys there are about a thousand times more knowledgeable than any of the "geek squad" folks. Plus they have tons of great vintage stereos, speakers, and record players for sale.

Back in the day Stellar Stereo was a great place to buy Laserdiscs. I would stop there at least…read moreonce a week to check out what they had in and the majority of the time I left with a new Laserdiscs. Many times I'd end up getting 4 or 5! They also did repairs on pretty much any kind of home audio/video devices. One time my Pioneer Laserdisc player was having trouble with the dual side play feature so I brought it into Stellar Stereo. I told the man at the counter the problem and asked if he had a rough estimate on how long they would have it. I was addicted to movies at the time and didn't want to be without my beloved Laserdisc player for long! He said to me "If you're not in a hurry I can take a look at it right now. If the problem is what I think it is I can have it fixed for you in half an hour or less. I was surprised to hear that and also skeptical that it could be fixed so fast. He took it apart right there on the counter and said some sort of belt had broken that allows the player to play both sides of the disc. He went into his backroom and got a belt and had it fixed and put back together in a matter of minutes! He plugged it in and grabbed a Laserdisc so we could test it and sure enough it was playing both sides with no problem! I thanked him for fixing it so quickly and asked how much did I owe. He said something like "I get a big bag of those belts at once so they end up costing me less than a dollar. He said you've been coming in here for years buying Laserdiscs so no charge since it was a simple fix." I said I really appreciate that but please let me pay you something, if you hadn't fixed it some other place would have charged me an arm and a leg and would have probably taken a week to fix. But he wouldn't accept any money. So I ended up buying three Laserdiscs from him that day with the money I had saved on the repair. I can even remember what they were. I got Con-Air,Austin Powers and Face-Off. I always highly recommended Stellar Stereo to all my friends and family. About a year later my dad bought an awesome home theatre system from them and got it at a great price. If they are even open again I highly recommend you stop in and check out the awesome equipment they have. Both vintage and new.

"I didn't work for me." "It's probably your outlet." "Oh, okay. I didn't think to try a different outlet. Thanks. I would like it cleaned, new filters, etc." "That'll be $49.99." "Okay. Will you call when it's ready?" "Yes." I verified the number they had was correct and waited and waited and waited. Called in July. "He's not here now, but he's really backed up." Waited some more. Called today (August 23, 2024). "He's on vacation. But I see your machine is on his workbench. It appears to be done. It says he replaced the filter. You can pick it up. It'll be $24.99." Multiple complaints and some general whining about the long wait, zero calls to update me. No apology. It's back home and appears to be running and the filter does look new. Other than that, I can't say. I just hope it doesn't need servicing again, because as far as I can tell, this is the ONLY place in the area that repairs vacuum cleaners. Maybe that's how they get away with such horrible customer service.
