Store policy "If parts plus labor will exceed the amount shown ($100) by more than 50% we will contact you for approval before proceeding with service" When I inquired about pre approval Eric (man at front desk in kilts) told me that only applied to labor costs. Not wanting confrontation I paid $188.66 3 weeks later the F sharp was not working again. They had repaired 7 pads, but only 1 of the 2 pads related to the F#. They repaired the second pad and made some bogus claim about the flute head joint being bent and lower stack rib needing to be soldered, something they had done in the past. They Charged me $98.41. Parts for both repairs $78.39. Looking on line an entire repair kit costs under $20. To add insult to injury they claimed I abused my flute and exiled me from the store. The second bill will probably end up in court.

Service was very friendly and information. They have some great displays making it easy to examine the craftsmanship. Great local shop definitely check them out and the greater Dewitt mall. It's a cool little spot, like a time capsule.

Went from $70 up to $100 when they decided to replace the battery in the in-body tuner without even asking. Ugh. Never again. See the clever "still owes" section of the receipt (attached here for your viewing pleasure) after I paid the unconscionable sum of $71 already just to get the dang thing done. The owner, Tom, is a friendly and helpful guy. Hours are "usually" 11-5, but it's best to call first. "Ithaca's headquarters for djembes, congas and all types of hand drums. Expert repair service on site." (I forget where I got this quote, but I had it in my contacts for this shop.)
