I like to show her reference photos I find online of similar looking dogs and explain to her that I want my dog's fur "not too short but not too long" with teddy bear face. He comes out perfect every time and his legs are the perfect length every time. Before I leave, she always makes sure I'm happy with how he looks and adjust/trims if I am being nitpicky (me problem). I don't particularly like the fresh cut look because it looks too "clean" but he looks absolutely perfect in like 2 weeks when his shag comes back! I can tell how much she loves her job by the way she speaks to him. I've gone to many many many groomers in my 20 years of dog ownership and I am loyal to Bluemoon! She is really flexible with appointments and I usually call a week in advance to get an appointment and she always has availabilities based on my schedule. I drop him off, remind her what I want, and pick him up when she calls/texts me in about 3 hours! Hi, it's me, Roscoe. Yes, the handsome, mysterious mixed breed, and the lucky one still standing to…read moretell you about Leslie the absolute best groomer a dog could ever dream of. Almost 10 years ago, Leslie started grooming me and my brother Lucky. We were inseparable partners in crime, explorers of the backyard, and champions of mischief... until Lucky, bless his clueless heart, spotted a human walking some fancy female dogs across the street. Did he think he could impress them? Did he even look both ways? Nope. He ran, and a speeding car... well, let's just say he's now the fastest dog in doggy heaven. Heartbreaking for us humans, hilarious in retrospect (don't tell Mom I said that). After Lucky left, we were gifted the tiniest, sweetest little chihuahua named Gizmo. For eight years, Gizmo was full of spunk, mischievous, bossy, and somehow always finding a way to sit on your favorite chair before you did. Time slowed him down eventually; he became fragile, blind, and walked like every step was a math problem he didn't want to solve. But Leslie? Leslie treated him like royalty the entire time. She pampered him, spoiled him, and somehow made his old-man antics look adorable. When it was Gizmo's time to go, she put her own commitments aside to be there for Mom, helping us say goodbye. Even I have to admit... that was pretty incredible. Now it's just me. And honestly? I'm loving it. All of Leslie's attention is mine. She grooms me, spoils me, and somehow manages to make me look even more handsome than I already am (a tough job, I know). I strut in like the king I am and Leslie treats me like it. Leslie has been there through heartbreaks, sad days, diva moments (mostly mine, obviously), and every wag, nap, and zoomie in between. She's not just a groomer she's family. She loves animals like they're her own, and humans like they're her own too. Every fur baby deserves her... and honestly, so do you. So, if you want someone who will pamper your dog, make your humans cry happy tears, and maybe even make a slightly mysterious mixed-breed like me roll over in pure joy, Leslie is your person. 10/10. Would nap in her lap again. Twice if I could.

When I picked up my dog Teddy after his grooming, I learned that the tip of his left ear had been accidentally cut during the grooming. There was enough bleeding that gauze/hemostatic material had to be applied to the wound. The staff acknowledged the accident and did not charge me for the grooming, which I appreciated. However, what disappointed me most was that the person who actually groomed Teddy did not come out to speak with me, explain what happened, or personally apologize. I understand that accidents can happen when grooming a dog. But when an animal is injured while in someone's care, I believe the groomer should personally speak with the owner, explain exactly what happened and what was done for the injury, and show genuine concern for the dog's well-being. Making the grooming complimentary was appropriate, but for me it did not make up for the lack of direct communication and accountability from the person who groomed Teddy. Unfortunately, for a first visit, this left me feeling very uncomfortable about returning. My main concern now is simply making sure Teddy's ear heals properly.
