The last counselor was in training from Case Western Univ. masters program she did the exact same thing even after assuring me this would not happen with her. Thus failure to close cases properly @ Your Recovery Counseling is obviously systemic and not a big deal to them!

In the first session it was a casual conversation. The room was comfortable. I felt like I was talking to a confidant. Absolutely no judgement, great listening. Then the second session. Whoa. bombshells. He really understood things that were going on in my head and unloaded some baggage that I had been keeping around in my head for decades. I left that session feeling refreshed in a deep way. Having been to two other mental health professionals after that. This is the one that clicked with me. The fun part is the relatives that stressing me out with their behavior stopped after I changed my attitude towards them. I now have a better relationship with one of them. I have Morris Pengilly to thank for this. His specialty is trauma (Think of Cops and Firemen) but he handled my light work load perfectly. 8 years later I am doing way better. I feel like I should go in for a "light checkup" The stress of other things is still there I just feel like I handle it better. He doesnt have any reviews because who wants to admit they went to a "shrink"? Well I did almost a decade ago and the benefit of this particular person has lasted almost a decade now.

I had a discovery call with Salma Khattab. After general introductions I provided her with insight…read moreinto my chronic battle with TMJ disorder. I felt a sense of ease speaking with Salma as we delved into my lifelong journey of suffering and the multiple practices that I have tried to combat the pain. Salma's calm and balanced energy was palpable through the phone and it was a very pleasant experience which left me feeling energized all day. Like speaking with someone you've known a long time. I had a lot of questions about the process and some personal concerns and she took the time to explain and walk me through what to expect. With all forms of western medicine failing me, and some eastern practices that have given me tremendous value, I look forward to confronting the issue from within by diving into my inner self. As with a lot of chronic disorders there are root causes that never go away unless addressed. The discovery call was a bonding experience that gave me trust and confidence, and I feel I have a practioner capable of leading me there with compassion and kindness. I look forward to the next step!

I tell all my friends about him. My only regret is that I used my employee's assistance program to see him. Per the contract I was only able to see him ten times. I have gone to other counselors since seeing Mr. Weigele but felt that they did not have the experience and skills to help in my situation. Mr. Weigele takes the time to listen and get to know you. He offers many solutions and evaluates the whole situation. I feel that he was the only one that remembered what we talked about in our last session to help resolve the issues moving forward. If you are a male he is great because I feel he is very easy to talk to. I also think my wife really liked him too. Even though my wife was the cause of many of the issues, he was not afraid to tell me how I could improve the situation as well. If you just need to talk to someone, don't wait to call him. He helped me understand how to live with a recovering addict, but I feel that he could help someone with any situation.

I have had both good and bad experiences at Benhaven Counseling. Scott Brinkman is great. The…read moreoffice staff is difficult. In trying to find out about a drug prescribed for me by one of the other counselors, I hit a brick wall. Twice I have had a prescription refused by my insurance provider. I have tried to resolve this asking if there is a different Rx the insurance might approve as I can't afford the large out of pocket expense. The counselor who prescribed these is either not in or will not return calls. The office staff person who said she would call back did not call and is not in, nor will the other staff member assist me. She said "I don't want to get involved." It's never a good sign when a mental health agency destroys your mental health with its poor behavior. In addition, the prescribing counselor also ordered a drug that we had just agreed I would stop taking. I had no way to stop the order or to reach the counselor. I had to pay for something I no longer can use. Benhaven Counseling is becoming increasingly useless.

I attended Main St. Physical Therapy for a couple of weeks seeking treatment for TMJ, as I was…read moreinitially told they specialize in that area. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations. One concern was the excessive communication. I received multiple email reminders for each appointment--sometimes up to three--and on two occasions, I received emails stating I had missed four appointments due to their recommendation of attending four times per week, which felt confusing and unnecessary. During my first visit, I was assigned a college student in training . This included hands-on TMJ work inside my mouth, which I was not entirely comfortable with given the level of experience. In subsequent visits, I was treated by a different therapist who, while competent in performing the exercises, frequently engaged in personal conversations about drinking and social activities. As someone in recovery who works in a counseling ministry, I found these discussions inappropriate and uncomfortable in a professional setting. Rather than addressing these concerns directly at the time, I chose to discontinue care. Based on my experience, I will not be returning or recommending this facility.
