After having read about mead, and never having tasted it, I began a quest to find a bottle. However, today I was excited to find the Rebel Hive Meadery while browsing in the Fairgrounds Farmers Market! This was the first weekend they were open for business. Mike and Ryan were informative, helpful and welcoming. Ryan poured samples of their meads for tasting. I'm not going to attempt a mead review, as I'm inexperienced and was focused on simply tasting their basic mead, called "It's Not You, It's Mead". It was positively delicious! With my best French accent... "It was bright with hints of Concord grapes!". Haha, actually they assured me that there are no grapes in this mead! It is so special to have discovered Rebel Hive Meadery. I encourage you to try them out!

We parked across the street in the gravel lot, signs have the buildings number (252) on them designating the spots. Building does have stairs, but they also have a small lift for handicap accessibility. Interior looks exactly like you would expect in a place like this, full of wood everywhere. Due to COVID restrictions, you have to order food, and they have a basic menu that includes things like hot pretzel braids. Our group sampled various Mead's and liked them, but they do offer Beer and Soda. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The highlight of the trip and worth every dollar was the axe throwing. You purchase a ticket at the main register, walk over to the throwing area, and sign in. They give you clear instruction how to do it and you're throwing. The instructor was great and very personable. The throwing is very safe and our group loved it, even when we didn't always find the target. Absolutely would return here.

The instructors were very knowledgeable and didn't hover or make us uncomfortable and they would offer tips as needed but just let us do our thing. I definitely recommend and will go back. They have a small off street parking area too.

I've enjoyed visits to both their Fleetwood and Jim Thorpe tasting rooms. I really dig the medieval vibe. It makes both locations feel unique, and not quite like your typical tasting room experience. This is the type of place you would bring someone if they were visiting from out of town and we're looking for something off the beaten path. While Stonekeep produces both wine and mead, it is the latter which truly stands out. My favorite selections are the Red Raspberry Melomel and the Blue Muninn. Both offerings are absolutely delicious, and an excellent way to introduce someone to mead who may not be familiar with the drink. Both are excellent on their own, but really hit a whole new level when paired with chocolate. Consider busting out these meads for your after dinner course when entertaining at home. Or, if you're by yourself, feel free to pour yourself a glass and sit in front of the fireplace.

A GF sent me a TikTok reel of the Brewery since she has celiac & I have a GF intolerance. My husband & I enjoyed both of our flights we got. As seen in the picture provided I did a cider flight as well as my husband. Then my husband decided to try the meads and did a flight of those. I ended up just getting a 4 Oz of another cider. The staff were super helpful with recommendations & they were super friendly! We enjoyed the environment of the Brewery as well! Will definitely have to take a trip back again soon!

Wow. This place is incredible. Looks like a typical NJ brewery both inside and out (located in an…read moreindustrial park with the usual exposed beam ceiling and concrete floors inside) but plot twist: they only brew ciders and meads. No beer. But the ciders and meads are phenomenal. My girlfriend and I stopped in yesterday on a Saturday afternoon, which was our first time there. We each tried a cider flight and a mead flight and loved everything. Definite standouts for me were the Mother Muse and Tulsi (both had a nice mix of sweet fruit taste with a hint of herbs like rosemary and basil) and the Ayamarcay with its decadent peanut/chocolate flavor. The story of how this place came to be is just as incredible. Founding member Christian Annese was misdiagnosed many years ago with Celiac, which led him to the world of ciders and meads. At the time, NJ laws made it incredibly difficult to brew quality cider, and mead was effectively illegal. So Christian and his partners worked tirelessly with NJ legislators to change the law, and in 2020 Armageddon opened for business. Highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back!

Was in town for an event and had this on my bookmarks to try! I've never been a huge fan of Mead…read morebut I was hoping maybe I just had some bad samples. We decided to share a flight which was $9. But really it wasn't like flights, they just let us sample a bunch. I am not sure how many we sampled but I am guessing we got our $9 worth although I wish they'd discount the flights/sampling if you purchase. We did get a bottle to go for a gift and the total came to around $32. Some of the flavors were really yummy and the ingredients are all fresh and some local I believe which I like. I also like that they do cocktails in house and they fresh squeeze lemons, limes, oranges, etc for whatever they're concocting. The atmosphere is cozy - like a cute coffee shop and decorated nice. Reminds me of my college days at the Allen in Annville...They don't serve food but they welcome you to bring your own food. Also they have live music often so it looks like a nice place to relax with friends and a drink or 2. As for me becoming a fan of mead? Not sure...I tried some that I didn't mind but really didn't have anything that I loved. There were some I was like oh no this is not for me. LOL I purchased a mule one which has fresh ginger and lime and I think that will be good over ice. That's another thing, we just tried them straight but I bet I'd enjoy them more over ice or however some of them are meant to be served. I'd still recommend this place based on overall experience. Next time I think I'll try a cocktail.

None of the breweries caught our eye, but I've heard about mead before so decided to stop in and see what all the fuss was about. The Larsen Meadworks is a nice cozy storefront right on Main Street with a small bar, high top tables, and some comfy couches and chairs. Not knowing the first thing about mead when walking in, i was particularly impressed by how the owner took the time to walk us through what it was all about - and to steer us towards some options that were similar to beer styles we liked. Was impressed by how many selections were available - and especially the collaboration they have with a local distillery - with rum from the distillery mixed with mead to create a cocktail. Gift alert! They sell bottles to go, I grabbed a few for Christmas gifts.
