The Rebel Grounds is a student-run cafe located in UNLV's Hospitality Hall building. Been here a few times and the drinks are always tasty. My favorite drink so far is the Wanda, I find it a better version of the Pink Drink imo. The staff is really friendly too. It's nice that the place is not too busy so you get to order pretty quick. There's not too much seating in the cafe itself but there's more seating out in the general first floor area of the Hospitality building. They also offer a stamp card that lets you get an 11th drink free. If you don't have one make sure to ask at the register. read more

The atmosphere in the mornings is cozy and warm, with great service from the start. The staff is friendly and got everything ready for me quickly. I ordered a large medium roast coffee and had it black, and they must've brewed it a bit too quickly because it was a bit sour overall. Decided to try something different and instantly regretted my choice. This was far and away the worst cold brew I've had on campus. I have no idea what cursed soil they grew these beans from, but they should leave these there. It tasted nothing like coffee. I am so proud to be a UNLV student and staff. Personally, my favorite part of campus is the Hospitality Building. Hospitality has always been an important part of Vegas and UNLV. Now, they've added an amazing opportunity for our students to experience hospitality and management firsthand! Rebel Grounds is a cafe where hospitality students can apply and work, to build their resume and still be close to school. One of my favorite things about the Rebel Grounds is that their student workers can create a drink of the week! My student crafted the Toasted Coconut Dream Extreme and it was so good, I got it twice! The drink is only $5 which is super affordable but the only con is that they don't take cash. Service was bad. I got my bagel and asked for another cream cheese since they are tiny. The girl looked flustered and annoyed. Then she said it's a charge, I said okay. she said it's .75 cents, I said okay. she said we only take card, I said okay. She goes over to someone else and when she does I put my card on the counter. She come back and tosses the cream cheese at me saying next time it's .75 cents, barely showing her face and walking away. Very rude. I went back to the counter and saidHey i believe they forgot my drink. The same girl that tossed the cream cheese at me loudly goes "WHAT DID SHE SAY" to the cashier. Originally I didn't like this place. Every time I went I had bad customer service and the coffee was off. I recently went again and wow I can keep coming back. There is new staff and they are so friendly! They also take Apple Pay now and the coffee got better! read more

Next time you are at UNLV or if you are a student I highly recommend this spot for coffee and snacks. They use mother ship coffee roasters beans and can brew a mean cup o joe! Building design is very modern, stepping foot inside feelings like the Aria hotel lobby just without the sounds of slots and poker chips. Love this place for its location as well as its prices. It's located in the hospitality building across from the Lied Library, and when I'm hungry and have class near the CBC, I usually drop by here for a snack. It's run entirely by students, and they do a great job of running the place. Also, compared to the Coffee Bean and Starbucks on campus, there is no line out the door here when classes get out. The most I've ever seen is a few people in between classes, and the staff work through them quickly. I've come here a few times, though I'm only reviewing it here once. Being a creature of habit, I usually get Jasmine tea. The tea is a simple enough concept; they just put your teabag in a cup and fill it with water. I've asked nicely for a refill of my cup before and I've gotten it, though I wouldn't count that as a regular thing. Today I decided to be a little more adventurous and try the smoothies. Yelp gives a great $1 off promotion if you use the check in feature here, but it only works if your purchase is over $5, so I got a muffin with that. For a coffee shop in Vegas, that's not a bad bargain. The smoothie was great, and for 0.50 more you may as well get the medium over the small. The muffin too was actually really good, and naturally they can heat it up for you if you want. All in all, it's a pretty solid spot and I don't have any complaints! read more

This is the best coffee shop on campus! Coffee, tea, smoothies, and food are excellent. I've been coming here since it opened up this Fall semester and I've had a great experience every time. I usually get a special order of a black tea with steamed almond milk and sometimes some vanilla syrup. The staff are more than accommodating to make this off-menu drink for me. It is made just right and the prices are best as to the other chain coffee shops nearby. I've had the monte cristo sandwich, which is delicious and made in house. Again, price is more than fair. I've also had the pina colada smoothie and it's delicious! I don't come to cafes like this often enough to know how to order. Rebel Grounds has a few different menus to look at. Grab and Go. In house. Coffees. Teas. I don't know what else. When I came in today I saw a couple of things on the grab and go menu that sounded good but were not in the grab and go case. Afterall, this was late in their day. They were probably sold out of a lot. I ended up with the only sandwich I saw in the case. A turkey sandwich with havarti cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and cranberry sauce. It looked tasty. And it was. Though the bottom bun had gotten soggy since this was a pre-made sandwich. I wanted dessert too so I also ordered chocolate croissant. They killed it and not in the good way. It looked nice and fluffy in the case but they heated it up and it deflated. Got kind of chewy too. That was disappointing. I also ordered a hot green tea. This was delicious. Very fresh and vibrant. That was probably my favorite part of lunch today. I appreciate that Rebel Grounds is here as an alternative to Starbucks. But there is a reason I don't come to places like this. I get too confused and too lost. read more

This is such a friendly place to go to! This is a new cafe at UNLV which allows students to have more options when eating and getting their daily dose of coffee! I recommend patience with this location as they only opened a few weeks ago! I love that there are multiple alternative dairy options for those who are vegan or lactose free! I'm not sure why it isn't the go to stop for coffee on campus. I see the lines for Starbucks and coffee bean and I'm so glad that i come to rebel grounds. Not only does actually taste much better but the prices are so low for the quality you receive. They also have a menu of food items such as the Chipotle Rebel and Monty Sando which are both super delicious there is a few more that i have yet to taste. I advice you to try out both the hot and cold Lavender latte's they are both equally delicious and its a perfect time to try the hot latte for the cold weather. read more

if you're on campus this should be the only place you eat at. get the monty sando it's really good. it goes pretty fast if there's not a line, but takes the same amount of time as anywhere else. you can't really sit inside but there's plenty of tables in hospitality. read more

Located inside of the new Hospitality College on the UNLV campus, Rebel Grounds is ran by students of the college. Most of my fellow classmates and friends rant and rave about their boba drinks sold here, however, I am not a fan of boba. I have ordered a green tea lemonade before, and it was just okay. For the price ($3) and the size of the drink I was pretty impressed, but the drink itself didn't have much to offer in terms of taste. They service was fairly quick and the employees know their menu well enough to make a recommendation, if you ask for one. I would like to say that I will visit again, but there are much better options on campus to purchase a drink or a snack, so I probably won't be back any time soon. read more

This is the absolute last place I go to for coffee. I genuinely have grown large hate for this establishment due to how incompetent the staff is. The demographic of the staff is only students, knowing that Nevada is ranked lowest in education should tell you how this place operates. I once ordered iced lattes and received a cup of milk. No espresso, just milk. Idiots forgot to put espresso in my iced latte. When mistakes like this are asked to be fixed, they ask you to pay for them. The Asian girl named Kcheung is the most incompetent barista/cashier in this world. Another time she was helping me, when I asked her what was in the S.S Caramel drink, she only replied with "caramel." No shit. Their employees have absolutely no knowledge of coffee or the menu. I don't understand how they weren't able to find smarter people to work out this establishment. I love coming here.. just avoid the obvious busy times. ive tried a lot of different drinks but i wasn't a fan of the chai all of the other drinks are good and they dont charge for milk alternatives but they do for syrups. I'm bummed to be leaving this, but after today, I can't return. I have been ordering from here since they opened, but as of recently they never have smoothie mix. And when I say never, I mean the last 6 times I have gone in over the period of several months, they are out. And up until a few weeks ago, they didn't indicate on their menu that they were out, so I was left waiting in line for 5-15 min, only to be told they are sold out. I was happy they finally covered the menu with "sold out" so customers aren't left waiting. But today, I watched the young woman who was making the food do so with no gloves on. None. She touched the glass display case, the signs in the case by the food, the oven, the utensils, the fridge doors, her water bottle, and then prepared food without washing her hands or without gloves!! I was astonished and pretty much grossed out. While I was waiting, three people returned their orders because they weren't good. They were way understaffed and the poor gentleman making the drinks had no less than 10 drinks in line to be made. The guy at the register was very nice- and very apologetic. I could tell he was frustrated, but it wasn't his fault! Not sure what has happened over the last few months, but operations need to be assessed! read more

The quality of the drinks has gone down from last semester to the current Fall 2019 semester. I ordered a mocha iced coffee and it tasted like iced milk with a hint of mocha taste. The same was true for my friends earl grey tea. He mentioned it tasted like milk with a taste of earl grey. Couple of my coworkers had mentioned the quality had gone down but I didn't believe it until I tried it. It's a shame. I'd recommend to go to Starbucks if you want your coffee and taste needs satiated or just anywhere else, to be honest. The guy at the desk talked down to me the whole time, and then talked me out of getting a frappe and into getting the cold brew, which he promised was the best drink they had. Chai tea and hot apple cider drinks are fantastic alongside the chilly weather. I should remember to all for less milk with the chai, but that's more of a personal preference.
