I saw Dr. Kleinerman for a few of my skin issues and a skin cancer screening after getting referred by a friend who highly recommended her. She and her staff were very professional. The doctor spent a lot of time with me answering my questions and cured one of my rashes that had not improved after seeing two other dermatologists! She was so kind, and even followed up with me to see how I was doing. I'll definitely be coming back - was a great experience!! read more

I waited several months to get an appt. I was told she was a good Dermatologist and recommended by good reviews. What a lie! This woman has no business acting like a Dermatologist. My appt on May 14, 2025 was to assess a lesion on my back - a persistent patch of discolored skin left over from a MOHS procedure 8 years ago. I was worried that the skin cancer had not been fully excised and had returned - I mistakenly thought Rebecca Kleinerman was qualified to evaluate skin cancers as she is advertised as a screening professional. After rushing and barely looking at my back she announced that "nothing worrisome was present". I pushed further and asked if a biopsy should be taken to confirm her all too brief analysis. "No" she said - "But maybe consider cosmetic surgery to help with the old scarring". Before I could put my shirt back on she asked me to take a seat and look at her directly - I assumed she wanted to evaluate a mole or freckle on my face. To my amazement and disgust she announced "However I do think you would benefit from a Blepharoplasty to correct heavy lids over your eyes" (which I don't have). I told her I hadn't come for cosmetic eye surgery but to get answers about my back. She ended our "consultation" abruptly and told me to come back in August for a body scan and left the room. I wasn't satisfied at all with her findings and booked an appt with another Dermatologist - this time at NYU three months ago. Much more professional and they took the time to ask questions and took a biopsy. Result? Stage 3 Skin Cancer!! If I had left it alone and listened to Dr Kleinerman I'd be dead. BEWARE! Find anyplace else to go if you want a professional and detailed evaluation. Don't risk your life. read more

Greedy doctor that is clearly only in it for the money. Is lazy with her actual medical work/procedures, leaving them unfinished/incomplete/clearly not done to the best of her ability, and then also charges high prices *without any explanation of the prices or letting you know the high price beforehand*. I have been a patient of Rebecca Kleinerman for about 6 years. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I see her for skin cancer screenings. No other dermatologist that I have gone to previously has ever done such thorough skin can screenings as Dr. Kleinerman does. Once I had a spot on my chest that was biopsied. It was actinic keratosis, the least-worrisome type of pre-cancerous lesion. She "burned" it off. There was no discomfort and there was no scar left. The lesion never came back. I have also seen her for other spots I have been concerned about, none of which she said were any type of skin cancer to be concerned about. She is very kind and I always feel that she answers all of my questions thoroughly. I have always found her front staff to be efficient and helpful, as are her clinical assistants. It is easy to schedule appointments. There is never a wait to be called into an exam room. Her office is stylish and immaculately clean. When my husband and I started living 6 months out of the year in Florida, she volunteered one of her colleagues that she went to medical school with who has a practice in Boca Raton, FL who is also outstanding. Between the 2 dermatologists, I feel that I am in extremely good hands. She always has free samples of sunscreen and aquaphor ointment (non-Rx great for healing skin) available at the front desk. I now am of Medicare age; I have the secondary United Health Care Supplement. She accepts this plan. Dr. Kleinerman has my highest recommendation. read more

I had multiple issues - nothing is wrong with Dr. Kleinerman, more with her front office staff. When I called to schedule a new patient appointment the front office had to check with the physician's assistant to see if they were in network - nothing too bad, I can deal with that. It came after the visit. On 8/18/2024, the office called me and said I needed to pay for the full visit since insurance never bothered to pay for it. This bothered me, so I paid it and then called Carefirst. To their credit, Carefirst looked deeply into it and every single person I spoke to on Carefirst's end agreed I never should have had to pay that much. According to Carefirst, a check was sent to Dr. Kleinerman's office but never cashed in within the 30-60 day timeframe, which incurred a $20 fee. When I called the Dr. Kleinerman's office, they claimed that there was no such a thing as a 30-60 day timeframe to cash in checks - it should be 90-120 days, and then hung up on me before I could ask for a reimbursement. According to them and the Carefirst representative they spoke to said that they have 90-120 days to cash in checks, not the usual 30-60 days. I checked with my company's HR and Carefirst on a conference call, and everyone all agreed that the fee was incurred by Dr. Kleinerman's office because they didn't cash the check in time. When the Carefirst representative tried to speak to the front office to see if I could be reimbursed, they actually hung up on them before anything was said! Carefirst said that they would reimburse me since I paid out of pocket for the visit but the $20 would have to come from Dr. Kleinerman's office which they unwillingly agreed to do. While Dr. Kleinerman and her staff are competent, her front desk is very incompetent. It says a lot about front desk staff if insurance is easier to deal with. Front desk staff should be able to cash checks in within the usual deadline and know if the physician is in-network since they're the ones that usually deal with insurance. I would look for another physician if possible simply because of front desk staff. read more

Had a consultation today ( may 1st) with Doctor Rebecca, due to rashes and bumps on my face. She diagnosed me w fungus , hence she didn't even tell me what was the name of the fungus nor collected any specimen to send out to lab to make sure AND When I asked her : " can you touch my face to feel the bumps" she SIMPLY SAID "NO" !! THEN I ASKED , can I still use use the face wash I'm used to wearing , she said yes ( without even asking which one ) then I was like ; but i know it has some acids In it and THEN she said " then no, use something simple " She also looked impatient with other questions I asked her. To finalize the story, I WAS SO UNDONE WHEN I LEFT THE CLINIC, I couldn't believe she denied touching my face, so I called several other clinics and WAS SO LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT TODAY ( may first) the doctor saw me and ACTUALLY examined my face, collected a test to send out to lab to make sure ...... I HONESTLY FEEL SORRY FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO SPENDS SO MANY YEARS IN MED SCHOOL AND IS UNWILLING TO TOUCH HER PATIENT's face. read more
