Dr. Reba Mukerjee please retire. Seriously, I need a new doctor. This one is a remedial! For real, I went in because I am not feeling well and I know I need that tended to. First thing she said walking in the door, "Uh, I am concerned about you and your weight". That is part of the reason I am here and went on to explain the specific problem(s) and those problems may very well be causing a wee bit of the weight loss. She basically started yelling at me that I am seriously underweight and my health is in danger. I said, no duh! That's why I am here. She ordered some blood tests (not for the specific problem) but for "anorexia" and went on to say and write on paper "anorexia" and referred me to a "specialist" for the problem I went to see her for. Then she exlaimed she needed to leave and get her kid; left me sitting there. You can't understand my frustration, because I just cannot explain the specific problem, however, I explained it to this woman that calls herself a doctor. I am certain that this problem is causing havoc beyond my stupid weight - I just know it. I am going to complain to the American board physician she was making fun of my weight. read more

Unethical conduct. Went for a routine physical. She asked if I had "any issues to discuss" and I mentioned a tightness. She googled it and handed me a 2 page printout on stretching (something I can do myself). I was billed $125 for a separate office visit for this! For 30 seconds and 2 pages off the internet! My physical was fully covered by my insurance but she managed to get paid for 2 visits for the time of one! Was hoping to get a PCP for our whole family but will pick someone less greedy. read more

Dr. Reba was really nice in my first visit. After my second visit she started as if she doesn't have time to see patient. She was in so rush. She wouldn't let me finish my on going on problem. she will just diagnose what is going on with me. I was so upset, she is my primary care so she should have at least listen to my problem not just order bunch of blood test and MRI 's. I felt they just want to make money, it seems like only a business rather then helping patients. I spend lot of money because of her. She is not helpful at all. read more

I am extremely happy with Dr. Reba Mukerjee-Scheufele. She sees my entire family and I wish that she was a paediatrician so that she could see my baby. She caught my mother's cancer, when a doctor at Stanford said that it was a simple infection. She saved my mother's life and for that, I will be eternally grateful. When I was scared that I might be suffering from infertility, she explained things to me in a way that I could understand. She even spoke with my OB/GYN and suggested tests. In the end, I wasn't suffering from infertility. Both her and my OB/GYN told me this in the first place. I am now pregnant with my first child and when she heard the news from my mother, she called me to congratulate me. She is not only a wonderful person, but she is an incredible and thorough doctor. read more

Reba has been my doctor for 3 years. I'm a 40+ male, never cared about seeing the same doctor more than once. I selected Reba from the PAMF directory because of her interest in life balance, I was going through a depression. I'm very satisfied with Reba which I now consider being my "personal doctor". Here is my experience so far with Reba Pros: - She is sharp and goes straight to the point - Her diagnosis has been 100% right on (to me the most important) - She doesn't prescribe unnecessary medicine or tests - She has a holistic approach (she asks about work, direct and extended family, personal diet, exercise, feelings, etc) - Very quick to respond through the PAMF private page (online and quick communication is important to me) Cons: - Like some other reviewers pointed out, Reba's style may at first come across as she may not be listening or caring. But after several visits, it was clear to me that Reba remembers everything about me (I don't know if she reviews my file before the appointment or if she just remembers) and cares like a family member. - She has a busy schedule and you better be on time. I manage to get on her first morning appointment - Never twice the same nurse (or at least that I can remember of). But this is not a problem for me. I think I found my personal doctor, I trust her with my life now. read more

Well... where to begin. I think she is nice but she doesn't listen. She interrupted me so many times when I was trying to explain what was wrong and she summed up her very quick exam with the prognosis of 'more exercise and being mentally tired' . My issues were joint pain and fatigue and she kept insisting I didn't exercise (even though I'm a mother and still thin and in shape) even though I tried to tell her I did yoga and pilates frequently, she interrupted so much I don't think she caught that. Also with my joints hurting so much, exercise is damn near excruciating but I tried despite my personal hesitations to exercise more and it ended up making me feel like a 90 year old woman. When my blood work came back she said I was fine, nothing serious and that my she had no explanation for my condition. 7 little blood tests and nothing else, no further look into my symptoms or possible conditions. Not a care for my symptoms which had begun to effect my life at home with my children. It feels awful to seek help and be made to feel like you are inventing an illness. I am always super healthy, haven't seen a doctor in 10 years because I was never sick and to finally have something feel wrong and be so rebuffed, it was terrible. Well it turns out when she checked my thyroid she did a TSH and my result was in the low range and had she caught that and ordered a more thorough thyroid profile she would have found that I am suffering from hyperthyroidism which can cause fatigue, joint pain and a whole other mess of symptoms. My dad had a doctor like this and thought he had nothing wrong, turned out he had pancreatic cancer and died 4 months after his diagnosis. My last OB said everything was fine when I insisted it wasn't and it turned out I had undiagnosed gestational diabetes and my placenta had separated from the uterine wall causing the birth to be terrible and my son to be born very very sick. If Dr. Scheufele had listened to me speak and not assumed I was just trying to invent a sickness perhaps she would have been able to diagnose me, but she didn't really seem to care what was wrong with me that a cursory investigation didn't reveal. I am being harsh but a doctor is someone we go to for answers, to seek care and understanding about these things that are happening to us. I expect a lot from a doctor, like someone who will listen and take seriously the issues I have. I did not receive this from Dr. Scheufele. She also gave me horribly wrong information about allergies (they only cause respiratory issues and itchiness... food allergies cause many other things but for some reason she didn't seem to agree with me on that even though every allergist I have seen says otherwise). read more

I totally adore Dr. Mukerjee. I feel like she REALLY listens & she's never in a rush. She's really warm and caring. She also makes you feel like you're talking to an equal Anyway, I was bummed to see that another review had a lousy experience. But, I still wanted to post a review, to express a different perspective. I'll try to update my review if my experiences become bad. Until then, I'll give Dr. Mukerjee 5 stars because I don't know what better experience I could've had with her so far. read more

My significant other chose Dr. Scheufele from a list at PAMF because her other primary physician moved to admin. On her first visit with Dr. Scheufele for an annual physical my family member actually had an allergic reaction to medication and was transferred to an ER by ambulance. I was in the waiting room and Dr. Scheufele called me in and she was freaking out. It worried me that Dr. Scheufele was so panic stricken and didn't know what to do. She called in another Dr. to handle the emergency and Scheufele disappeared. That trauma passed and my loved one was back in Dr. Scheufele's office a month later to finish her physical exam. Yet as weeks passed by family member began to deteriorate. She eventually needed a note from her Dr. Scheufele to take some time off work for medical evaluation and treatment. Dr. Scheufele refused to give her a note and was actually sarcastic and sent my loved one away with no note. I couldn't believe the lack of concern or professionalism and took my family member to another doctor I knew was compassionate. He examined her and gave her a note to take a break from work. Fortunately, she is now on the road to recovery. My impression of Dr. Scheufele is she couldn't care less about the well being of her patients and behaved rather contemptuously about my loved one's malady and showed no interest in helping her, she was even sarcastic about it. I am glad I found a new caring physician for my loved one, and would not recommend Dr. Scheufele for people facing serious health issues. She seems to be in the wrong business for that. read more

Found Dr. Mukerjee-Scheufele on Yelp. I recently moved to California and needed to find a new primary care physician. She is amazing! She answered all of my questions, was not rushing me in our discussion, and has great bed side manner. She definitely educated me on a few of my health concerns and helped me come up with a plan to fix them. I am so glad that i found her! Dr. Mukerjee-Scheufele has been my primary care physician since 2009. Unfortunately, I've encountered a number of medical issues since then, and Dr. Mukerjee-Scheufele has marshalled me through each one. She is a careful listener and has appropriately referred me to specialists as needed. I especially appreciate her responsiveness over email (even on weekends!), and she can always be counted on to follow-up on the open issues that I have. She now cares for my two teenage daughters too. I am soooo lucky to have her as our doctor! read more

I needed to see a doctor and happened to get Dr. Mukerjee-Scheufele. I liked her so much that I made her my primary physician. She says it like it is - no nonsense, but with a great bedside manner. Dr. Mukherjee has been a wonderful GP for me. Just today I showed up as an emergency patient after several trips to the ER and urgent care and she managed to squeeze me in during a very busy time in the office. I've been suffering from a six-day migraine while pregnant. She and her staff spent five hours helping to diagnose the issue, give me an iv and pain control. She ensured I got every single lab test under the sun and even got the lab techs to come up and draw my blood since I wasn't able to walk far. Now, we hope to have more news on what is causing this debilitating situation and I finally feel like someone is tackling the cause, not trying to medicate me randomly. That said, she was busy, had other patience and saw them all. She has the most caring bedside manner and truly knows her patients. You're lucky if you can call her your general practitioner. She's a true godsend in today's manic medical practice. read more

I used to be irritated by primary doctors because I was forced into seeing them by my HMO in Santa Barbara. Usually I knew I needed to see a doctor with a specific specialty, and that primary doctor was just a bureaucratic roadblock. Now I have insurance that does not require that kind of managed care, but I usally seek out Dr. Mukarjee-Scheufele before I see anyone else anyway. I have been seeing her for years, and would have recommended her on Yelp long ago if I'd known she was on it. Dr. Mukarjee is so skilled at diagnosis and has such a wide range of experience that she could specialize in anything she chose, but she sees her patients as whole individual with a specific set of problems. She never just assumes she knows what is going on from what I tell her, or from her previous experience with other patients. She is very careful, detailed, and thorough, and she juggles a lot of details about my previous visits - she sometimes remembers more than I do, and picks up details about my medication and history that I have forgotten. Whenever I do see a specialist, she ties in the results of their tests and recommendations into her knowledge of my whole well-being, and acts as kind of a consolidator and overseer. When she finds something that needs to be investigated further, she refers me to colleagues she likes and respects, and has never been wrong. She has a great sense of humor, and is very warm-hearted and caring. She is also very responsive when I call or email, she never lets anything go for more than a day. I read the other reviews and was surprised that anyone would think she was judging them for a weight problem, whether under- or overweight. I think all physicians face that challenge - when do you tell someone what they don't want to hear? It's a judgement call. To me she has shown concern, but not judgment. One day I waited almost an hour to see her, but that was very unusual - and she was worth it. It was clear that she was running late not because she was dawdling or unconcerned, but because patients ahead of me did not show enough respect for her to be on time. As a result, that visit was very rushed, and I didn't get all my questions answered, but it wasn't her fault. You have to cut any doctor some slack, and Dr. Mukarjee is worth the trouble of scheduling another appointment. Today she really surprised me with a diagnosis I didn't expect, and recommended physical therapy. I thought she would, but for a different reason, and that made me feel better because I have scoliosis, which is a lifelong battle. Looks like this new problem might be one that can actually be significantly improved with treatment, and I'm very grateful she recognized it and got me moving in the right direction. I always leave Dr. Mukarjee's office feeling better, even if I'm still physically in distress, because she truly understands and cares, and I don't feel I'm stuck with just worrying and stewing over my own physical and emotional challenges. She's my favorite doctor at PAMF, and that's saying a lot - because that place is chock-full of top-notch physicians. Needless to say, I recommend her highly. read more

I agree completely with the previous review. I had to change my PCP, just because of Dr. Mukherjee's attitude. From her attitude, it feels like she is doing a favor to her patients. She is not even considerate of the discomfort that her patients feel due to their sickness. Once during my pregnancy, I had flu and my Obgyn asked me to see my PCP. Her assistant was kind enough to squeeze in an appointment. The moment she came in, she exclaimed that she was not even aware that her assistant had scheduled me, and that she did not have time to listen to my symtomps, and wanted to get done with me in the next 5 minutes, as she had to pick up her kid!!!! read more

Dr. Mukerjee is REALLY good doctor, and she did call me underweight too, but it is because i really am. If you want the truth you come to her, if you want a liar who tells you that you're fine when really you have cancer then find another doctor. I have been a long time patient of Dr Scheufele, and as far as I am concerned, I will not see anyone else. I had come in one day 4 years ago for a routine pap smear and during the examination she noted severe uncontrolled bleeding, and thought I should be hospitalized. I ended up getting diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had a hysterectomy for this. I am now well and see her for my other medical problems now that the cancer is thankfully behind me. I feel that she saved my life. read more
