We can't really say enough good things about Lauren Pryor. I'd actually known her informally a while back from a wonderful group called Austin's the BOMB (Business Owning Mom Brigade), and everyone seemed to have the same sentiments about her: she is someone who genuinely cares about supporting and raising others, especially Mothers. So from the onset when Rafa and I started thinking about a house search, I knew it had to be Lauren and only Lauren we would be reaching out to. We couldn't be happier or grateful that we did. As it was, who would have expected all of the new, more unusual "variables" we would be dealing with as a global community over the last couple of years. The first contract he had for us to sign had the wrong address for the house we wanted to buy as well as SPELLING OUR NAME WRONG ON THE CONTRACT. When it came time for our closing, we found that he had given us the wrong closing date. I even tried to clarify it with him because I thought there was some confusion. When the day came and I finally showed him the original email he had sent me stating that our closing was that Monday, not Tuesday, he convinced all the people involved to come in so we could sign all the paperwork. Coming from Colorado, I'm not sure if the Real Estate culture is different, but we went from having an above and beyond realtor experience in CO to an okay experience here. We worked with a super cool guy I would want as a friend, however, not as much a realtor. I guess he was trying to squeeze in as many clients as possible as he was frequently unavailable and would send his brother, not a realtor, to take us to showings, to our inspection, and our final walkthrough. I feel like missing one of these things would be totally fine if there was a family event or something like that, but not being there for all of those definitely reminded us he has other clients. We never experienced that with our past realtor- it felt like we were a team with the CO realtor and not one of a million other clients. Our last realtor made it a priority to be at everything for us. There was also no one available the weekend of our option period to let us in the house because he was out of town all weekend. Yikes. If there is one time you will want to be able to get in and look at your house- that's definitely the option period!!! They should have figured out a way to make that happen. I had a moment of second guessing after our option period ended and when I talked to our realtor- his initial response was "well you could get sued if you back our." When I had moments of doubt with our past realtor, he would talk me through everything to see where I was coming from and didn't try to force me into decisions by using fear. I think he was just stressed and that's how he responded but that could have been handled exponentially better. Maybe if he would have been available during our option period, we could have had that conversation then instead of panicking immediately after. The team was great in nailing all of our deadlines and he added terms in that for our offer accepted which was great. We are so appreciative of that. The realtor has also followed up occasionally with phone calls. However, when looking for a realtor, two of the most important things to us were availability and not feeling like I was one of many clients and those two wants were not met. It always felt like we were a burden which is not how you should feel as house buying is stressful enough on its own. The experience was overall not a positive one. I would give these guys 2.5 stars which rounds up to a 3 I guess. read more

My fiancee and I worked with Kevin McCord from Realty Austin over the course of multiple months. He helped us find and buy our first home in Georgetown, and we could NOT be happier with Kevin's service, attention to detail, promptness, professionalism, and the relationship he truly built with us. The process was so easy and fun with Kevin from the get-go. We looked at many houses over 3-4 months, he went to every single one with us, and he was honest with us about the quality of the home and neighborhood. If he thought that there was a better home waiting for us than the particular one we were looking at, he would kindly let us know - he pointed out certain areas of the home that may be an issue, or that we could potentially work with. And this guy knows his neighborhoods! He knew about trains or noises in the area, how much traffic is around the house and streets, the value, history, other homes that he's helped sell or buy. Or, if the neighborhood culture wasn't exactly what we had in mind, he wouldn't recommend it. However, he always let us know that it was ultimately OUR house and OUR decision. No pressure. Once we found our home, he took care of mostly everything with the seller, seller's agent, contracts, amendments, recommendations for services (loan officers, home warranties, insurance, etc.), the week of closing, and much more. A process that I had previously thought of as stressful and cumbersome was COMPLETELY turned around to a simple, positive one. We never seemed a bother to Kevin. Kevin was never a bother to us. Communication was quick, inclusive, and just right. Since he's been doing this for YEARS, he had so much experience and knowledge about what to expect, what emotions we would have, how many times we would have buyer's remorse (and when!), and all else that made my fiancee and I feel safe and at ease. Gina Nyland made two appointments to show my home and was a no show, I left with my 15 week old pup for two hours to accommodate her (102) outside and no courtesy to cancel. I came home after last SUPPOSED showing fed my pup, put him in his kennel and left for grocery store then received a call from my husband that this woman decided it was ok to just show up at my home with no scheduled new appointment. This woman had the NERVE to trespass in my home without permission and show my home with my pup and toys on the floor, not the best way to show. She is very lucky I don't press trespassing charges against her I feel totally VIOLATED by her actions, if my pup wasn't kenneled he could have escaped out the front door. Poor poor realty practice in my opinion. read more
