Absolutely horrible experience with this company. My fiance and I applied to our dream apartment and were notified that his background check had come back flagged with felonies THAT HE DID NOT COMMIT! He has NO criminal history as we've confirmed with TDPS through online portals and via phone as well. He has a common name but we found that this individuals record and my fiancé's was matched by PARTIAL information matches only!! They didn't even match his FULL name or birthday which seems entirely negligent. We've now since submitted a dispute but have received no information and when I asked how thorough the reinvestigating would be I was told "they (the investigation department) has their ways" and nothing else! Individual employees seem to have no idea what is going on let alone how to fix major dispute concerns when contacted. I am absolutely tired of the run around on a situation that is SO easy to fix if only this information was cleared with an actual person before being submitted to landlords and company's. Now we are potentially losing our dream apartment by no fault of our own and out of hundreds of dollars from the application process. if you can avoid renting from any properties using realpage, do it!! read more

I applied for an apartment 10 days ago and they came back with a report that I was evicted last year September when I am living at the same address for the past 5 years, and on the report is someone else's first name with my last name. It has been 2 weeks and they have not fixed their error. read more

This company is terrible. No one takes initiative to help. Feeling very defeated by trying to find a temporary home while our house is being built. Time is of the essence and this company cannot give me a timeline or help me understand why my application was denied. So very frustrating!!! read more

Its so confusing and they have like 4 different start pages and i can never find the correct one that i can actually log in too. The software itself is ugly and very hard too use.... I have no idea how to find anything. Nothing is clearly labeled or properly shown how to use. I highly recommend if your a property manager or someone who uses this for vendors...DONT... its a hassle! read more

If you are looking for an apartment and they use real page as a screening company DO NOT APPLY. I've applied for this apartment 2 weeks ago and had a balance which was taken care of with a paid in full receipt and was denied of course. When given the paid in full later while filing a dispute and getting it taken off my credit it took DAYS and they have no update even though they've " expedited it plenty of times. Hell the research that i did took me ten mins compared to their 14 days. I am now borderline homeless because of them and the amount of money I've paid for hotels and to keep my Uahl is insane! I currently applied for an apartment in San Antonio and they now use real page this standard of policy is ridiculous . I owed an apt complex and paid the debt in full and sent them the proof of paid debt as well to the property. Apparently the property can't do anything and has no power it's all on real page/leasing desk . With the proof submitted they told me it can take up to 30 days for the dispute !! Why if I just emailed you the proof! And the credit bureau has 30-90 days to delete and the collection agency says they don't report it till the 1st. So now I might lose my apartment due to their process of investing when you have the proof already in had for them. Makes no sense. Terrible process company and software. -stars. I will never rent from a property that uses this third party. read more

REAL PAGE IS A SCAM. and I believe any apartment complex that uses them is in on the scam as well. We tried to rent from 2 different complexes and found out both used Real page software. the reports indicated fraudulent activity and there were none. we pulled out credit reports and did criminal background Checks and everything came back clean. If the apartment complex you are applying with using Real Page, they will take your money. We are out of $1000 in application fees due to this company. I will take this further and file legal charges for our money back!!!! read more

Horrible service. Was denied an apartment based on their decision even though none of the data on my report would have disqualified me based on the apartment complexes own standards. Filing a dispute with this company is worse than pulling teeth. My daughter and I are going to be homeless since it seems every complex uses this sorry excuse for a compnay. read more

I applied for a apartment and was denied saying I have a back and I dont I called and I'm getting a run around my move in date was for next week and this is so unprofessional I'm ready to sue I payed over 200 dollars in application fees just to have false charges put on me read more

Im updating now because of the service I've received from Paige & Michelle. After leaving a review Paige reached out to me immediately and had one of the representatives go over my documents. Michelle happened to call me about 4 times in one day. I was at work so I missed her calls but she called me the next day to discuss my dispute and expedite the process. I sent in a letter from my landlord's lawyer & my 2+ year rental payments. We'll see what happens next hopefully my background report will be updated because I have hard proof. Im grateful to Paige & Michelle for their assistance. read more

Sloppy report, full of false, unverified and misleading information. I never had any issues passing background checks for apartment rentals, until this apartment (Panorama Tower at brickell, Florida, 33131) uses Real Page for background screening. They rejected my application because they found a criminal record with the same birth date (month and day) and last name with me. Obviously that person has a completely different first name and a different birth year, anyone with a common sense won't match me with the criminal record, but they insisted on putting this record on mine without any verifications. The report seems to be automatically generated by some stupid computer program, and they don't have any sanity check processes before sending out the report. I submitted a dispute, but it takes them forever to correct such an obvious mistake. Made several phone calls to the customer service and they were not helpful at all. They are blocking my rental applications, and trying to make me and my 1-year-old child homeless. I also see many reviewers with similar situation as mine. I don't understand why such a sloppy company can have so much power to decide a rejection on rental applications. read more

Crazy how my wife and I make 5x the rent for any unit out in the market yet due to credit score with history that we've been cleaning up since we've been together for 3 years now, can't apply to any apartment community that uses their software because of our credit history. Insane how anyone before our generation was able to rent a unit by word of mouth even immigrants with little to no papers can rent homes or any type of living space. Thanks to this company my wife and I with our four kids have been denied to 5 communities that use their AI number reporting and credit score authentication. Let's be real. Why do they require credit score checking if rent doesn't even boost my credit score? I hope this company crashes and burns for stealing many people into their dream home or at least a home with a roof over their head. read more

Hi, I recently applied for an Apartment and was denied even tho I make 3x the rent due to RealPage stating I owe an apartment complex money. There isn't any number for me to contact to pay and the apartment manager stated she sent it to RealPage and doesn't have a number. It incredibly frustrating trying to pay something when neither RealPage or the complex has information. I was never notified or contacted about any collections nor was I late 6 times. Hello I have had the worst experience with real page they the wrong info about my credit report they said my debt to income ratio is high which it's not on Experian it says I have 0% which is the lowest you can have and no accounts in collections I also make more than 3x time the amount of money that the apartment needs. This screening company is ruining people lives and losing housing this is not ok read more

Things I wish we would have known as a property management/development company before converting to Real Page: -Most functions operate in Internet Explorer -The Onesite platform sounds great, but none of the functions communicate with each other seamlessly -Online leasing is absolutely horrid -System is slow and time consuming -A simple call to tech support will take at least an hour of your time, no two support staff will offer the same solution. They'll tell you it's just how the system is and you can "submit an enhancement request" -The system crashes more often than acceptable -You have to manually advance the date at the end of each month- it is time consuming. -There's so much more. I would not recommend this software to anyone, my experience with RealPage over the past 12 months has been nothing short of hell. read more

September 25th, 2020. Completely flat out denied for an apartment due to a rating by Leasing desk and determination of "insufficient rental history" because I have lived with family for the past few years and haven't leased since 2015. My rental history is all older because of it so I automatically failed the rental application. Apparently in order to be approved to rent, I have to have continuously rented?!? I contacted my past rental companies (2010-2015) and have several of my leases and no where/no one to submit to. My score was a 656. I have no evictions, always paid rent on time. I am going to lose the housing because of this "determination" and it can take up to 30 days to even dispute. My head is spinning at how this is even legal and possible. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I am employed by a major local academic health center for almost 3 years and make more than 3x the rent. Now I have to do triple the work to try and make this right with no guarantee the rental company will still even have a place for me to live. read more

I applied for a corporate lease on Friday. I know that my business credit is good. I even had a rep from D&B tell me but what she could not tell me was why I was denied! I got call the call from the leasing office and nobody there could tell me why I was denied. I was given a number to call some company that couldn't help me and then they gave me the number to real page and when I explained to the rep that I was denied for an application I filled out for corporate leasing he told me he couldn't help me and connected me to Duns and Bradstreet and of course the rep there couldn't help me. I called the leasing office back and was given very limited info and was told to call D&B AGAIN!! So I did. The rep looked over my profile and told me that she didn't see any reason as to why I was denied because I have good credit and my business has been established for a year. I called the leasing office AGAIN and they told me to call real page. The same company that told me they couldn't help me and transferred me to D&B. Nobody can tell me the criteria to get approved and honestly I am frustrated because I have been working for almost 8 months establishing my business credit so that I can get this lease. I need to know why I was denied when I have the credit and I have had my LLC for 1 year!! I don't want to waste anymore of my time dealing with reps and agents that have no clue on how to help me get the answers that I need! read more

My boyfriend and I are expecting our first child soon and need a little more space. After weeks of searching we finally found an apartment within our budget that we both fell in love with. My boyfriend did have collections from a previous rental company but we had paid that off in full weeks before we applied for the unit. When we filled out our application with the rental property we disclosed this information as we were worried that it may still show up on his credit report and attached documentation proving that the debt had been satisfied in full. The property management told us to send this documentation to On-Site, a third-party credit and criminal background screening company acquired by RealPage, Inc. in 2017 and file a credit report dispute with them. This is where things start to go down hill. We waited a few days before calling On-site to get a status update on our dispute. They were unable to give us any information as to how long this process would take and told us that it could take days, weeks, or even months. After 2 weeks, the property sent us an email letting us know that they would no longer be able to hold the unit for us (they were more than happy to keep our $300 holding deposit, though.) At this point, we were calling On-site at least once, sometimes twice daily for status updates and we're given no information other than that dispute has been sent to the credit bureau and that the dispute investigation has been escalated. At this point, we contacted Equifax, the credit bureau that On-site uses, to see where they were with their investigation. Equifax told us over the phone that there was no collections on the account. We then went online and downloaded a copy of my boyfriend's credit report it also showed NO COLLECTIONS. Thus, the credit bureau had done their part. We were able to do all this in under 15 minutes. We then contacted On-site once again and asked them if they could please get in contact with Equifax as everything on their end had been resolved and all that we were waiting for was for On-site and Equifax to communicate. We were told that they simply can't, and won't, do that. Isn't that exactly their job? We were told by multiple representatives, including a supervisor who would not give me her last name, that they follow specific protocols in these situations and they could not reach out to the credit bureau to get this issue resolved. Every representative we spoke to was clearly reading from a script as they all gave us the exact same response verbatim. What I don't understand is if I can access all the information needed to resolve the dispute in less than 15 minutes, why can't they do the same? I cannot believe that this company continues to operate with such poor procedures and customer service in place. It is amazing to me that rental properties would PAY to use this service with the reputation that this company has. We will most likely lose this apartment as anyone can come in and swoop it up from under us now that we no longer have it on hold all because On-site did not do their job efficiently or in a timely manner. After this experience we will never apply for another rental property that uses On-site as their tenant screening company. read more

Like many people I received a rejection letter for renting an apartment from this company. The reasoning they gave me is because I have a criminal record or so they say however I don't. I thought this might just be an honest mistake however after looking into this company and seeing all the lawsuits against y'all for reporting inaccurate data, im surprised you all are still in business. I requested a copy of my report however again it seems doing business with y'all is just as terrible and the only place to get immediate solutions is on this yelp page which in itself is super un professional. My situation here is quite urgent since I'm relocating in less than a month to start a new job and don't have time to be jumping through hoops with your office so to whomever is the owner of this yelp page can you please contact me ASAP read more

The company ran my background check for an apartment I am trying to get and came back with false charges. The apartment denied my application due to this, I called the state that they said I had charges in to see if my identity was stolen and there was no civil or criminal record with my information. I've also had multiple background checks the past few years as I am a firefighter and cannot have a record. I called the company and they stated that I had to wait 5 days before hearing back on my dispute, which will likely cause me to lose the apartment. Reading through the reviews and seeing this has happened to many people is very unfortunate. Edit: Issue was resolved the following morning after the owner reached out via Yelp and the incorrect charges were removed from my account. read more

I applied for an apartment at "The Bower" (Prometheus) in Burlingame, CA who does renter screening via RealPage. I had a bad experience with RealPage renter screening rejecting my application. The report doesn't state why my rental application was rejected and gives some warnings such as low account age, more debt etc. I've been in the US for 5+years now, have a decent credit score of 740+. I do have a car loan with a payment less than 1/10th of my salary. I'm not sure how I could prove my good financial standing. I have submitted a dispute form and waiting to hear back from them. read more

UPDATE: After posting the review, someone from the company reached out and explained the situation (somehow my current apartment number was missing from the application). They spoke to the apartment complex who updated my application and the extra deposit was removed. Very satisfied with how the process went down after my review, but shouldn't have needed to write a review to get this sorted out in the first place. Original review: Very frustrated. Apartment complex is requesting I pay a full months rent as a refundable deposit, which just blows my mind. They are unable to discuss details and referred me to this company. The phone number provided was just a prerecorded message with no way to reach an actual person. I have perfect credit and rental history, great income, and no criminal record. The reason listed was fraud alert, but the purpose of a fraud alert is just to ensure the lender verifies my identity (my social was used fraudulently about five years ago) before opening an account attached to my social. It is not a valicause to increase the amount of fees I have to pay, refundable or not. read more

I decided to use this service because they report on-time rent payments as a way to boost my credit score. I'm 62 and would like to purchase a house I have done everything to increase my credit score and nothing is working although I have a 100% payment history. They took 2 payments out of my account this month under RealPage and 1 payment for the same amount under Consumer Rent Reporting. When I tried contacting them I was given another #855-473-7729 that's in Manila Philippines with someone who I can't understand so I asked to be transferred to the US and was told they couldn't so I just called my bank to dispute all 3 transactions and to have my debit card canceled. Wow, what a nightmare. I've never been denied an apartment in my life (10 years of leasing) until RealPage got involved. Evidently, invalid denials are common with RealPage. This needs to be fixed ASAP, as it is causing massive disruptions in peoples lives. My specific case involves inaccurate data like Rental Payment History, Rent-to-income ratio, and Rental Collection. I've never been late on rent. And what's more, my income is higher than it's ever been and is 4.5x times the rent (only 3x is required). WTF?! I immediately called and was told to submit a dispute online. He couldn't provide a turnaround time. This is causing real problems. Something has to be done. read more

I have no balance and their system even shows I have no balance but RealPage won't allow them to generate a lease, a terrible thing for a company to do during a pandemic. ****UPDATED: Owner and company reached out and assisted in expediting my dispute. Company still need to revise and better their system for disputing inaccuracies in reports provided for leasing. However, they resolved my issue under 48 hours, and I appreciate the level of attention that was given to my escalation. Paid $300 to apply for an apartment because of RealPage we were denied on some false records of "Criminal and other public records unsatisfactory". After having contacted equifax we are certain our credit reports indicate no criminal record or negative public records. When filing a dispute it takes 30 days invalidating your application; After reviewing this page it is apparent that they do this to everyone. Their lack of support for resolving issues FROM THEIR END is inexcusable. I advise anyone who's been denied an application via RealPage to seek out legal counsel.
