I found Master An and he was so welcoming! 30 years older (58) and overweight with a lot of broken parts, he takes what you have left and works with you and your abilities. I am working my way back up to where I was, lost over 60 pounds and look forward to the next class because it is so fun here! We really are a family. There are complete families who attend here - mom, dad, kids and have been here for years. Even the kids who have gone off to school always come back here on their breaks to take class. Master An is a wonderful instructor. He is so perfect with the little ones! The kids really seem to enjoy their classes, and you can tell he has so much fun teaching them! This is not a huge school where you are a nobody. Since everyone is at a different level, he gives special attention to each person. Everyone here is very encouraging to each other. She comes twice a week to group lessons, which are any two weekday evenings at one of three times and last for 45 minutes. Each week you can change days and times as well, based on your availability. No scheduling. Just show up two days a week. Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fridays focus on stretching, cardio, forms, and kicks/punches mostly. Thursdays are group sparring days which she's ready to start as one of her two days a week. Currently, the 4:30 time is mostly the younger kids, 6pm teens with mix of young kids, and 7pm older teens and adults. It's not strictly those ages though. Adults and children of different ages can come at the same time. Belt testing is one Saturday each month, and you are invited to test when Master Ali thinks you are ready. Everyone will test on their color belt form and break boards. We are hoping, in time, coming here will help our child's self-confidence. Each class time you come in, you don't know what it will be like. Master Ali is always switching it up which makes it interesting and fun. He is tough on the kids but knows which kids to go easy on. There are some neurodivergent kids in the classes, and he is amazing with them! He's also super fun and funny so the kids love him. At the same time very strict. The kids really respect him.
