My husband and I will be retiring in the next few years and relocating to Texas. After reading some reviews we reached out to Doc Deason via email to let home know when we would be in town and what we were looking for as far as acreage size and land features. Doc spent about an hour with us later in the afternoon once we arrived into town. We sat down around the very large table that feels like you are sitting in his home around the dining room table. We casually discussed what we were looking for and he pulled a few properties for us to look over. We met the next day to tour the properties. We are looking at rural, remote properties that a realtor really needs and ATV to show. Mr. Deason didn't have that but did take us by 4x4 into the properties. Some were very tough to get in and out of but he was determined to show the property. We ended up using another realtor to purchase our property only because we found a property located outside of his area. But we will contact him if we decide to purchase residential investment or commercial property in Tyler. Genuine man, very personable and respectful. He has great suggestions on local eateries too! read more

I am aware this is a page for RealEdge Real Estate but since there is no where for a review for RealEdge Property Management, this is where I will leave my review. My distaste for this Property Management comes after dealing, or should I say lack there of, with Kathy Shade. On Thursday June 27,19 my husband and I both left work early to meet Kathy at a rental property we were interested in. We expressed our extreme like for the home and paid her the application fees on the spot. Friday morning I sent over all the requested documents along with the applications at 8:45am. My husband called Kathy at 9am and left a voicemail just to make sure she received the email and to let her know if she needed anything else to contact us. On Saturday, I called Kathy to follow up on the email since we were under the impression she would contact us when she received everything. I left her a voicemail at 3pm and asked her to return my call. Today, Monday July 1,19 we were told after my husband reached out again that the property had been leased because she never received my email. After telling her we not only had confirmation on the email but also left several voicemails which she never returned she then tried to make a million excuses. My husband went up there to collect his money from the application fees and Kathy conveniently left before he got there. He asked to speak to the Broker/Owner, Debbie Ezell. He explained all of this to her over a phone call and she stated Kathy was out and when she returns she would follow up with Kathy and then with him. Kathy called my husband and tried to give him this big spill of excuses once again and then admitted to actually receiving the email. All Debbie did was apologize. We were recently approved for a home loan but wanted to rent for one more year to get some affairs taken care of. When we are ready to buy we will not be doing any sort of business with this company and I will continue to let other buyers or renters know our experience with them. From the looks of other reviews, Kathy Shade does not have a good reputation. Run! read more

Our Realtor, Doc Deason, was there throughout the process, which took 6 weeks. He came up with good referrals as needed for inspections, mortgaging, etc. and always responded quickly to our questions and concerns. read more

I am aware that this is for Real Edge real estate, and my complaint is with real Edge Property Management specifically Kathy Schade. But, no where to post and its the same company- she answers to Debbie Ezell, Broker. We placed a family property with Kathy to manage for one year while leaving the state. She guaranteed me that she had a fiduciary responsibility to take care of our property. It was a complete nightmare working with her. Or should I say trying to get her to work. Any requests we made to her was like fighting a battle. She never responded, said her texts had been erased, said she had lost our email addresses the list went on and on of why she could not do her job. Besides that, she went outside the contract and hired her own personal vendors to work on my our home- the first time she did this I let it slide and reminded her that we had our own private vendors that were recommended by real Edge itself! When she did it again the cost to us was over $1,400 which was unauthorized. The contract states that she has to get written approval from the client, meaning the homeowner before she does any repairs over $250. Please note, in this contract it states that she will take 10% off the top of whatever those repairs are? Who does that? During the 11 months, she has cost 28% of our operating expenses on that property each and every month. the house was vacant for 3 months while she tried to find a renter. She insisted it be cleaned twice to the tune of $225. when I reached out to the new tenants to make sure the house was spotless she commented in a text to me that know the house was dirty. She also stated that the management company wasn't doing anything. I requested pictures of the home to see that it was being maintained and she refused for five months. Finally in the 11th month I had a neighbor send me pictures and it was disgusting! Trash in the yard, broken Furniture boxes and debris fire hazard on the front porch, mold and green mildew on the side of the home. Limbs bushes trees overgrown it was ridiculous! So, I told her that we would be filing against her and that's exactly what we intend to do. Our contract expires with her on September 30th - 2017. So if you're reading this, you know that this is a very current review. Run away! Do not allow this woman to manage your investment, you're home. You will regret it- that's my opinion. read more

Stay far away. Worst customer service I've ever experienced from a realtor. My family and I are relocating from Dallas to Lindale. We decided to rent for a few years until we decided on which areas we liked best to purchase. We signed a lease with Kathy Schade. She asked for a cashiers check for the deposit. Ok, I can understand that. The lease clearly states that the monthly rent however can be paid by a cashiers check or personal check. We are supposed to move in tomorrow. Currently, I'm in the hospital with severe injuries from a car wreck last Thursday. My husband went to pick up the keys, and Kathy informs him that we need a cashiers check. It all feels a little sneaky and deceitful to me. When he pointed out that the lease states personal checks are accepted, she told him "this is what I prefer". Our bank is in Dallas and we are dealing with a major hospitalization. When we asked for a receipt for the deposit, it took her a week to get that to us, and she made us feel like we were putting her out to provide this. This lady seems very untrustworthy. Please use a professional company, not this one. We've had many questions in regards to the house, and she has never answered any of them. My husband and I both have very good jobs and make significant wages. There is no need to treat us like this, especially when we are dealing with a major family crises. Once I am out of the hospital, we are considering pursuing legal action against her for undo stress and pain and suffering from this whole ordeal. Run! Find another realtor. I'm concerned she is pocketing the money herself, and I have no paper trail to prove I've paid rent for this first month. We were so excited about our move and the home we are leasing. I thought that was a realtors job to make you feel welcomed to a new town. Not this realtor. She seriously needs to take classes or lessons in customer service. Use someone else! This review is for the property management. The place i rented was left in clean condition but they did not return my full deposit completely. She made up bogus cleaning charges. It was the only thing not marked as dirty on the check in sheet, how convenient. hmmm. They hold out and pay the daughters husband (cleaning company) for doing nothing. Can research social media to figure out who is who. I would never rent from them again. I will never use any part of the real estate company for purchase either because they are aware of her unethical practices and must condone it. Not happy. read more

As there is no listing for Sabeen Salim Properties but she is represented by Real Edge, I am posting here. DO NOT rent from her. First, the properties on Hollytree Dr. are old and falling apart and if lightning strikes the house you are charged $50 for a service call whether or not it is your fault. (My brother, the attorney, tells me this is illegal.) While I was there; a few doors down... the unit actually caught fire as the bricks in the fireplace were rotting from the inside. Next, when it came time to renew my year lease; she waited to send me the paperwork until after the deadline and wrote in a 13 month lease instead of 12; effectively adding two months extra to the 12. And lastly, I just received my refund on my deposit. After paying $120 to have the place professionally cleaned; I incurred the following charges...$5 to replace a light bulb. $60 to sweep a porch. $80 for cleaning. One set of blinds -$120. $150 to paint even though a pipe burst inside the wall somehow I guess I'm responsible for this even though I never signed anything agreeing to this schedule of charges, etc. The list went on. Everyone on my street had similar stories. To be fair the staff at Real Edge has changed since I signed my lease and were very helpful upon move out...however, you would expect a company to vet its clients. Just be aware that you are paying only for location. There are much nicer places all over town for the same money; with management that will not try to nickel and dime you to death. One last thing: the $50 service fee was described to me by Real Edge as "it's in there so if some mom has a kid put a stuffed animal down the toilet and a plumber is called SS can recoup some of that." Now, I signed the lease, the policy is in writing...BUT, the way Real Edge described it made it sound to any reasonable person; "I don't have kids or stuffed animals, so I don't have to worry about this"; when the reality is that if a 50 year old pipe bursts behind the wall you are on the hook for it. I lost about $500 of a $1000 deposit and it's not worth the time, money, or effort to fight it. I've rented 13 apartments over the past 25 years and other than unscrupulous apartment complexes taking advantage of gullible college students I have never experienced anything like this. Got this off my chest; but I'll warn people away from Real Edge and SS Properties forever. read more

BEWARE! My wife and I did not retain Mr. Smith as our realtor, but he was the listing agent on a property we were about to purchase. While we had excellent credit and a great reviewed lender, he insisted that we use a "local lender," which is ludicrous. Our chosen lender was in Houston, Texas and offered us the best rate. Whatever his motivations, he had no business pressuring us into a different lender simply because he didn't know them. He also wanted a fee, FROM THE LENDER, for each day past closing. The lender is not in privity of contract with the seller, so that demand made no sense; he just wanted to scare our lender away. We ignored him, used the lender and signed the contract. The sellers signed as well, and then he once again insisted on a local lender, saying our lender would hold up closing. We ended up rescinding the contract and walked away. I have no doubt that he would have found a way to delay closing himself and would have asked for a penalty from us or the lender. I feel bad for the sellers, because I find it hard to believe they would have pressured us into a local lender; they just wanted to sell at a fair price. He does not appear to have his clients' interests in mind, but will seek any financial advantage he can get. read more
