Gary sent a staffer at their first visit and they never actually investigated the problem, they…read morewent downstairs to check things, ran into another plumbing company already in the building and then left without returning or telling us what they did or didn't find. Months later when still dealing with the problem Gary showed up himself and then kept interrupting me with his guesses as to the problem's source without running the test as South Island Mechanical did (who did a great and consistent job). I informed Gary that in order for the problem to show up you needed to run the hot water in any of the taps for about 15+ minutes. At which point black tar starts to come out and form on the water and stick to everything. Gary didn't even look at the material that had accumulated on the tub walls from just one use. He kept instead chatting us up while repeatedly shutting the water off after a couple minutes and looking at it with his flashlight. The most insane thing I've ever seen as I used to do some plumbing myself and we never used flashlights as they just cast shadows that are confusing and don't help identify things floating on the surface, they just highlight dust that floats onto the water. You don't need a flashlight to see black tar that smears when you rub your finger on it. After failing to repeat the issue (while I kept saying that he wasn't running the water long enough) they opted to go to the boiler room to see if one of the bladders had started to decay. I had already wrote that theory off as decayed rubber turns to a desiccated solid and DOES NOT turn into a tar like substance. I told Gary as much and he agreed that would be the case and you then expect to see stuff getting caught in the nozzles. He didn't find anything since the black tar comes out as a hot liquid and doesn't stay in the screen. So he just assumed his supposition was correct and that we must be liars. Yes Gary the pictures and videos I showed you were faked...I went to the hardware store and bought some bizarre material I've never seen then somehow got it into the pipes just for the videos of it coming out of them. He and the super never came back up to take the sample or look at what had accumulated in the tub while they were downstairs. They claimed that they knocked on the door for 5 minutes and I did not answer when I was sitting just feet from the door at the time they claimed to knock at. I was informed by the super that the bladder Gary thought may have begun to decay was perfectly fine. In essence Gary and his cohort did nothing. The first guy was clueless, and didn't even know another crew was on site, and then just bailed. Gary may have lied about coming back up and refused to take the test seriously even though a lab in town was quoted as saying "we've never seen this material before." Why was Gary even brought in when another company was already on the case and 3 separate plumbers all witnessed the material and took samples twice for analysis? Analysis by the way which still hasn't been provided to us even though the property managers keep saying they will forward the results.

Then, the stone backsplash was installed crooked and the company accused us of having crooked walls (they are perfectly straight). When you try to speak directly to a manager, you receive a curt email response from the secretary. Colonial Countertops refuses to take any accountability for their mistakes, and does not take steps to make things right for the customer. Once they have your money, they ghost you (Miro).
