Pork was good, sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. The meat has a really nice flavor and I didn't think the it really needed sauce. My husband loved the sauce because he likes a sweeter sauce. The baked beans were delicious. The potato salad was way too sweet. The smoked chicken sandwich is huge. It is tender and juicy but it does lack some flavor. I don't care to add condiments so that I can enjoy the flavor of the meat. The tomato on the sandwich really helped because it was fresh, juicy and very tasty. The bun was fresh. The stew was very good. I enjoyed the flavors and the heartiness of it. The brownie was disgusting - do not bother. It was dry and old. The lady working was very nice and the service was great. This is a smoke trailer in a gas station parking lot with a porch built on the back with some picnic tables. Be prepared to picnic and watch cats run around and cars go by. Food was wonderful tasting. BBQ was spot on. Sauce was a little on tomato side so I would suggest that on the side. But why the one star? Service. The gentlemen working was completely rude. My friend has an allergy to pork meat (alpha gal) but we saw on their menu they have turkey so assumed I was good. When I inquired about how the turkey was cooked my question was met with "if you don't want our food don't order it". Are you serious? The pork is smoked over the turkey we learned. It is a tiny walk-up BBQ shack and smells wonderful, but if you watch the food prep and lack of masks, gloves, or hand washing - this a big concern. I ordered the smoked turkey plate. My family and I were driving from Florida back to Indiana and we had a long drive through Alabama. We stopped for gas and was hungry so guess what was right behind the had station? The bbq pit. Plus I got gas at the Shell Station where this little hole in wall is parked. They suggested the turkey sandwich. It was absolutely fabulous plus took a order of ribs with me to Atlanta in the morning. These people are gifted and the place has been there for 29 years. Anything you get there will be special. When I returned at about 4 pm and bought $30 to take home. It all was fantastic. Will try to get them to bring me some to the area when they take frequent trips. If you do get the turkey sandwich put the mayo and tomato and lettuce. This is so good it is hard to describe. We stopped en route to the Gulf shores on spring break and it was a good place for us to break up the drive halfway between Athens and the shore. Our pork sandwiches were moist and flavorful, our daughter wolfed down her turkey sandwich and our son destroyed a large serving of pork ribs in between defending his baked beans and homemade potato salad from the rest of us. If you're in a rush, call and they'll have your order ready for you. We came in behind a small rush so waited longer than we would have liked since there's just 2 people filling orders, but the food was worth it.
