Pork was good, sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. The meat has a really nice flavor and I didn't think the it really needed sauce. My husband loved the sauce because he likes a sweeter sauce. The baked beans were delicious. The potato salad was way too sweet. The smoked chicken sandwich is huge. It is tender and juicy but it does lack some flavor. I don't care to add condiments so that I can enjoy the flavor of the meat. The tomato on the sandwich really helped because it was fresh, juicy and very tasty. The bun was fresh. The stew was very good. I enjoyed the flavors and the heartiness of it. The brownie was disgusting - do not bother. It was dry and old. The lady working was very nice and the service was great. This is a smoke trailer in a gas station parking lot with a porch built on the back with some picnic tables. Be prepared to picnic and watch cats run around and cars go by. Oh and take cash because they do not take credit cards.

Food was wonderful tasting. BBQ was spot on. Sauce was a little on tomato side so I would suggest that on the side. But why the one star? Service. The gentlemen working was completely rude. My friend has an allergy to pork meat (alpha gal) but we saw on their menu they have turkey so assumed I was good. When I inquired about how the turkey was cooked my question was met with "if you don't want our food don't order it". Are you serious? The pork is smoked over the turkey we learned. Then unknown to him we were in the gas station and witnessed him complaining about people with their bs allergies. Really. If my friend eats pork he can have a heart attack. But again I guess that's not important. Again food is good

I was very disappointed by the lack of Covid awareness and PPEs worn by the owner. It is a tiny walk-up BBQ shack and smells wonderful, but if you watch the food prep and lack of masks, gloves, or hand washing - this a big concern. I ordered the smoked turkey plate. The turkey was moist and tasty, but served cold. Potato salad and slaw are very good. As others have noted, the BBQ sauce is heavy on the tomato and has no fire or kick.

My wife and I love to try local food. In traveling recently we had the opportunity to dine with these good people. In business for 30 years, they made us a beef plate to split with wonderful beans and delicious slaw. Off. The. Hook. Wonderful Folk. Terrific food. Take the time on your next trip through Alabama and visit this fine and delicious establishment. You will not be disappointed.

This place is AMAZING!!!! It's like one of those hole-in-the-wall, torn down places that you never thought could be so so good! My family and I were driving from Florida back to Indiana and we had a long drive through Alabama. We stopped for gas and was hungry so guess what was right behind the had station? The bbq pit. I love bbq but that place got me kind of wondering if I should even eat there. The menu was hand-written and everything was "chopped"; chopped pork, chopped beef, chopped smoked turkey.... I've never heard of that before so we ended it ordering them all. The sides came with baked beans and couldn't be substituted for anything else. I have to tell you, I don't like beans. But when i tried those baked beans, i couldn't stop eating it! It just hit the spot! Their chopped food, of course, were just absolutely perfect. The owner came out and talked to us too. He was such a nice and humble man. I promised him that i would leave an amazing comment so people would start recognizing his little business so here I am. I still talk to my friends about it to this day. I'm craving it! This little bbq pit deserves a 5 star!

True BBQ fans know that some of the best "Q" comes from some of the oddest looking places, so don't be put off by the unassuming exterior of this tiny concrete block BBQ stand. This place has been a fixture in Greenville for decades, and for a good reason. This is real pit smoked BBQ - smoky and flavorful, moist and tender. The house sauce is sweet and tomato based, as is common for the region, but is served on the side should you prefer your own blend. The sides are homemade southern staples like cake and pie (along with a large assortment of others) and are usually excellent. If you want to eat onsite, there's a tiny deck built onto the back of the stand - otherwise it's strictly grab and go. I know people who drive long distances just to get this BBQ. Treat youself and give it a try. (When the meat is gone they close up shop, so show up early.)

This is a very neat place. I've never experienced anything like it. We got the turkey plate and the pork plate. I was hoping for more of a smokey flavor, but other than that it was cooked perfectly. The beans are fantastic!

Best BBQ in America, bar none. Looks can be deceiving. Don't let the humbleness of the place fool you!

Best Bar-B-Q in southern U S. If you don't like Bar-B-Q then get the smoked Turkey Sandwich. Can't beat it!

Got a bbq pork plate. There was definitely not enough on the plate to define the price. Next time skip this place. Way overpriced.

BBQ is a gem of the American countryside dining. Partially, because the only other alternative is…read moretypically fast food. But, that would not be a fair description of this tradition: BBQ is an incredible style of cooking and spots like this represent this tradition well. BBQ 65 is conveniently located right off the interstate in a gas station in a saloon like building that has a beautiful character from the outside. Open since 2010s, this spot has started to earn its place in the BBQ world, albeit being newer to it. There is an indoor seating inside near the gas station shop aisles. The ribs are cooked well with a nice wood profile, but neither very delicate nor particularly notable for their flavor of the meat itself, with smoke notes dominating. The quality of pork itself and the slightly tougher preparation could be better to rival Alabama's best. The BBQ sauce is loaded up with vinegar, completely overpowering the meat if consumed together, although to be fair, this may be a matter of preference for some BBQ lovers. The star of the show is potato salad which was perfectly balanced on its acidity, sweetness and overall flavor. As a whole, BBQ 65 is a pleasant stop to experience some traditional southern cooking and support a local business instead of tossing money into another "by the exit" fast food chain.
