He was able to restore it back to its original glory by re-pronging, cleaning, and polishing the ring while also resizing it to my finger. In the year 2000, my dad visited Australia on a business trip and brought back a beautiful natural opal for my mom. She had it set with 2 small diamonds in a solid gold ring. Many years later, she gifted the ring to me (they're divorced now lol). I had been wearing the ring daily for the last few months, not realizing opal is a very soft stone and prone to damage, and I ended up damaging the ring after I fell off a bike while vacationing in Mexico. Not only was the opal scratched and dull, but the ring was twisted (see first attached photo). I asked some of my friends who are jewelers about polishing the opal and they told me it was impossible and that I'd have to replace the stone ($$$!). I brought the ring into Morry's shop last week after finding him on yelp and asked if there was anything he could do to salvage my beloved ring. He said he could polish everything, fix the ring, and make it look brand new! And that is exactly what he did. I came back to his shop a couple days after dropping off the ring, and I was amazed. The opal and gold ring were brilliantly polished and it looked like any of the other brand new pieces you can purchase off his shelves! I am so happy with the work he did to restore this beautiful ring. His pricing is very fair, especially in today's inflated economy, and I believe I got an amazing value for the exceptional work he did. I highly recommend his jewelry restoration services, and he has a beautiful collection of precious stones and gold jewelry as well. My only qualm is that his shop is a bit difficult to find as it is located underneath the Crystal City shopping center, but his services are worth it! My wife and I have Tissot watches that have a great deal of sentimental value. They both stoped working after 20 years. I had a difficult time finding a jeweler who could repair them. I called Real Jewelers to see if they could fix both. Morey answered "yes" immediately. I took them in and they were fixed in 10 days. They replaced the old dried out gaskets, installed a new movement, polished the watches/bands and removed one of the links on mine since I had lost weight. The movements were broken beyond repair. I sent them to the Tissot Service Center and they said they were DOA when they opened them up and they did not have the parts, since they were too old. BTW. Tissot offers a new watch in place of the one they can't repair and provides a discount on a "compatable" watch to the broken one. But the "compatible" watch was of significantly less quality. The price was fair and the service was great. I have a two year warranty on both (which is what Tissot provides on their new watches). The store is in Crystal City and they provide free parking to their customers. They sell high end watches, in addition to Tissot, and jewelry also. read more

Real Jewelers and Mory are the greatest for all your jewelry needs and I highly recommend them. I fell in love with an antique diamond and sapphire target ring I found while traveling abroad. I loved the irregularity and imperfections in the diamonds and the setting, specifically the hand-carved center setting where the diamonds created a flower with a star shape in the center. My goal was to wear the ring on a daily basis, which I understood could be a tall order with century old ring. After a very short while, I dropped the ring on concrete and lost a sapphire. I took it to Mory to replace the stone and was worried that he would tell me the ring was too delicate to wear daily, an experience I have had with other jewelers. Instead, he said he understood why I wanted to wear it and would do whatever it took make that happen. The ring setting was so worn and so damaged that it could not hold the extremely small, delicate stones, so after many attempts to preserve the original setting (for so little money we felt like we were taking advantage of him), we decided the ring had to be rebuilt. I was nervous because the particularities of the ring were what I loved, but I should not have been. Mory perfectly understood the elements that I loved, and expertly rebuilt the ring in a way that preserved and enhanced those features all while improving the overall design and structure. When I saw the rebuilt ring, I was shocked that he could take a ring that I loved because of its unique elements and improve it while preserving the core design and feel. Never once did he tell me that I could not wear the ring, shame me for wanting to wear an old piece of jewelry (unlike other experiences I've had), or dismiss my emotional connection to the design. Instead, he understood what I wanted, learned what my tastes were, and executed the most perfect rebuild. He genuinely loves jewelry and understands what people want while being extremely talented. All of that effort and he charged us so little we used the money we saved to rebuild the ring to buy new things from him that we had eyed in our many visits. So, in additional to his amazing repair and maintenance, I also have a gorgeous necklace that is a similar design to my ring that I wear daily (designed and made by Real Jewelers), and my husband has an amazing watch. read more

Yeah, the owner is nice and all, and they do have pretty shiny things in the store, but that's about it. It's an expensive fine jewelry store in an underground mall targeted at tourists and wealthy middle-class commuters. I live basically across the street, and I needed a ring appraised and resizing, so I went here based on the positive yelp reviews. Perhaps for other services this place is excellent, but not based on my continuing experiences. They've messed up a simple appraisal twice now (putting down wrong sizes of stones, then messing up on the type of metal), and sloppily resized my engagement ring leaving different colored metal globs. What they first thought was white gold turned out to be platinum, but I had to bring my ring back since the main stone rattled and in resizing they left some gold globs. And perhaps it's a typo, but now my appraisal says it's made of "palladium." No measuring tools were used for the appraisal, and obviously the initial scratch test for the metal wasn't correct. I don't know how you could possibly get "same day service" as they advertise, unless you were to bring something in right when it opened and then picked it up when the store was closing. On the first visit, on my way out with leaving my engagement ring with them, he said "Now you be good." read more

I went here for a simple new watch battery. I then watched as their tech slammed my watch with a mallet like it was piece of plastic. A jewel popped out of its place because of it. I went back and complained to only get choice words thrown at me by some teenager working the register who wanted to dodge liability. The owner agreed to fix it but the jewel popped back out shortly. I don't have the time or patience to return and get it fixed. But let's be clear, I do not recommend this store at all. Id give it negative stars if possible. Stay clear. read more

This jeweler exceeded my expectations and in every way. I had a 5 stone male diamond ring that I needed resized and a 16 stone diamond gold bracelet that needed serious link repairs. I was nervous about leaving such expensive jewelry with anyone especially after hearing stories of people having their jewelry shortened, stones replaced, etc. I was also concerned about paying too much. I took my jewelry in to get an estimate which took less than 5 minutes and received a fair price from the owner. He assured me the work could be done in 48hrs. When I returned 48hrs later, he remembered me and laid out my jewelry. He did not rush me as I inspected the work. It was flawless. Not only had he fixed the bracelet links, but he also tightened the clasp and polished out all the scratches on the gold. My 10 year old bracelet looks brand new. He even kept the extra gold from my ring that was resized and returned it to me as I requested. The ring was also nicely polished and there were no cut marks on the ring.
