Set an appointment and drove several hundred miles just to have James tell me he was doing another tattoo and couldn't do mine. Very unprofessional. I'll never go back. This place is run by children who work if they feel like it, whether you make an appointment or not. read more

Please please PLEASE stay away from this place. I got my septum pierced here months ago and they completely fucked it up. It was misaligned and hanged down way too low. I had to go to the Lab and get their piercer to fix it for me. I had to get my septum pierced twice in three days because I was too embarrassed to go out with the original piercing done by real ink. They're also extremely unsanitary and just all around BAD NEWS. read more

Went here to get my very first tattoo and for my sister to get her second tattoo while in Louisiana on vacation. Right when we walked in the guys were very helpful and gave us their opinions on the places where we wanted to get tattoos and told us what to expect with pain. They were very friendly throughout the whole process and knew how to make us feel comfortable and the atmosphere was great, would definitely recommend this place! Both of our tattoos came out amazing and our artist really made sure to take his time and make sure it looked it's best! read more

I definitely do not recommend at all! Got a piercing, they used the wrong size barbells. Went in a week later so they could see it and tell me what to do. They said just keep it clean and use antibacterial ointment. Went to another tattoo shop of a friend, he said they needed to be taken out ASAP. The ball on both ends of the barbell was completely under my skin. I will never use Real Ink again! read more

Let me start with saying these guys are cool as can be. They we rent like other Tattoo shops where they are total dicks to you they helped me out as much as possible trying to find what type of writing i wanted with my portrait of my dog that i got on my chest. James is a great Tattoo artist he never rushes so he make sure hes doing a great job his prices are really great and if you keep coming back the price gets lower and lower all i got to say is I'm very happy i chose this place being the first Tattoo parlor i went too in New Orleans sines i been back in September great job guys 5 stars all the way you deserve it. If you guy or girls out their loo kin for a great tattoo shop go to Real Ink cause they are the realist! read more

History

Established in 2016.

Real Ink Tattoos & Piercings was founded in April 2010 by Real Flores with a vision that went far beyond tattooing. Built on passion, loyalty, creativity, and respect for the craft, the shop quickly became known as a place where art, family, and culture came together. Real poured his heart into the shop, earning respect not only as a tattoo artist, but as a mentor, friend, and brother to many. In May 2016, before his life was tragically cut short, Real passed the shop down to a longtime friend, brother, and fellow tattoo artist who shared the same passion and vision he carried from the very beginning. Shortly after, Real was tragically shot and killed — a loss that shook everyone who knew him and left a permanent mark on the people and community around him. What could have been the end of Real Ink instead became part of its legacy. The shop continues to stand as a symbol of brotherhood, resilience, loyalty, and dedication to the art Real loved so deeply .

Along with a a bright airy open space, real gold earrings to start with. This place was checking off a lot of my wish list so I set the appointment. A surprising extra, the team is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have later on in the healing process. You get a cleaning spray and a little bag of goodies and I mean what more could a over obsessive mother ask for. A definite 100 in my book. I showed the technician a photo of the nail design I wanted and asked if he could do it. His response was simply "no," and from the start his attitude felt dismissive and unwelcoming. When I asked how close he could get to the design, he told me that normally clients send their inspiration pictures before the appointment and that he has other clients, so he didn't know. As a new client, I was never told that I needed to send a photo ahead of time. There was no communication about that requirement when I booked. Instead of trying to help or offer alternatives, the interaction continued to feel rude and dismissive. At that point, I told him I no longer wanted the service. I came in as a paying customer, followed their booking process, and was simply looking forward to enjoying my birthday and being treated with basic courtesy. Customer service matters, and unfortunately I did not feel welcomed or valued here at all. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this salon.

DO NOT GO HERE! DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT FOR WOMEN! Very unprofessional. Walked in with a friend for a piercing for her. There was a decent sized group of men playing pool that all ignored us. Eventually guy named Quinton (sp) assisted us. He was kind and helpful. We were then handed off to the self proclaimed owner of the establishment to have the piercing done. After my friend had undressed for the piercing (nipples) the "owner" then informed us that Quinton was an apprentice and would be standing in for the piercing. He did not ask if she was comfortable with that, which was offsetting considering the location of the piercing. We let it slide. Everything seemed fine during the piercing, we were asked to go follow on social media, we paid, and we left. The next day after my friend took off the bandages she realized that one of the piercings was barley in her skin. It was holding on by a thread. It was too early for the piercing to be rejecting, that's just how it was pierced. Later found out that the man who pierced her nipples lied about being the owner and a man named James is the actual owner. Besides that experience, I have had multiple friends harassed on social media by the man who claimed he was the owner (Davey D) that night I went in with my friend. He has sent countless unsolicited dick pics to clients through different forms of social media. He is also a registered sex offender and is not supposed to have these types of social media in the first place, nonetheless using them to sexually harass women who he meets through work. Sometimes the ladies receiving sexual harassment are underaged. He has been warned and still continues to act as a sexual predator. He's also been recorded attempting to get young women to come to his home and have sex with him and his girlfriend. Davey D comes off as a nice guy at first but his intention are for from nice. On several occasions, the actual owner has been confronted about his employee's sexual conduct with clients and he has defended Davey D and his actions. This shop is trashy and unprofessional. The only person who conducted themselves professionally and had any kind of customer service skills was the apprentice, Quinton. read more

I always come to real ink for my tattoos/piercings. I love Q to death, he's done all of my piercings (I currently have 15 total) and he's an absolute beast at what he does. When you put love into something it really shows and this man loves his job. I will never trust anyone else besides Q at real ink to pierce me. read more
