I ordered a large milk tea. It was filled with 3/4 ice and the rest of it was the milk tea. Not worth $8.49!

The restaurant takes up one side of the building on the first floor. There is a little shop when you first enter and then the restaurant takes up the back part. This is not a roomy place. In addition to afternoon tea platters there is also a lunch menu in case scones and tea sandwiches were not your thing. What was ordered; The Tea Room High Tea with a pot of Irish English Breakfast. The verdict? Food was okay. Scones were amazing and light. Served with a side of jam and clotted cream. Service was attentive. Note there is a seating limit of an hour and 45 minutes. Your plates are cleared as you finish them and the bill will appear at the appropriate time. Experience was okay. It's a nice place to meet up with friends for tea.

Overall, a fun place to stop if you're into the theme. Other notes: I visited in early May and they either didn't have air conditioning or just hadn't turned it on yet...had to step out for a breather after drinking hot tea and soup haha. Bathroom was a single unisex one, same level as the rest of the shop, with maybe one small step up.

They offer take-out boxes because, like us, you probably will not be able to finish everything. Service was warm and friendly. The setting was cozy and whimsically decorated. Only problem was they couldn't find our Open Table reservation when we arrived (we even had a texted confirmation), but they managed to set up a table pretty quickly.

I love afternoon tea. While you always hear about the high-end Toronto places, which are admittedly…read moreunparalleled by its food and experience, it is also very expensive. So I usually save those for special occasions. But when I'm craving an afternoon tea experience for no reason, then I look up places outside of Toronto. I've been to several now, they are usually more traditional and while not as fancy, also half the price of the locations in downtown Toronto. I saw lots of great reviews for the Escarpment Tea Room online (but not on Yelp). From the pictures I had an idea that this would be a very homey experience. And it is actually located in an old house, next to a legion-like venue. Unassuming, it wasn't too hard to find though. The place is pretty small and a bit crammed with seating for about 20 people. It felt like we were in someone's grandmother's house with British memorabilia and trinkets everywhere. But the owner is very sweet and chatted with us, giving us info on each of her teas which are a mix of bag and lose. To be honest, we found the teas themselves fairly average. What stood out for us was the food. The savory items came out first, followed by sweets. It is traditional and not an overwhelming amount, but almost everything is made in-house, using good quality ingredients including a salmon sandwich which was made with fresh salmon. The desserts were all thoughtful created, freshly made and really delicious as well. I was highly impressed considering the owner seemed to do almost everything herself. The place wasn't full, but I imagine she staggers her reservations so people aren't rushed. I recommend this place for those looking for a nice afternoon tea experience, but aren't as fussy about the tea itself.

Her sandwiches are way better than hotel high teas (my favorite was turkey with mango jelly but also salmon, cucumber, quiche, Brie and jam, egg, etc). Fresh and she will give you refills :). They have a three tier tea stand that comes packed with scones, clotted cream and jam, sandwiches and mini dessert bites. I absolutely LOVE their scones. And the clotted cream and jam supplied by Devon cream company is delicious. I am not a jam fan but the vanilla berry jam is So good! They have a little under 300 varieties of tea and you can actually choose your tea after smelling it from the glass container too. It was such an experience! I ended up purchasing a few small tea packets to bring home as well so ended up trying four varieties of tea.

Hot water was added to our teas, and otherwise we were left to talk amongst ourselves. They served clotted cream, and a choice of jam with their scones. Had a mixed berry jam which was a good amount of tart and sweetness. Scones were excellent, one of the best I've had so far; which admittedly is not a lot. The sandwiches were okay, filling good, but bread a bit stale. The sweets were a small selection of 4 desserts and berries on the side. There was a lot of food for the 'White House Tea' set, well worth the money and the experience. Nice to try, but a bit far to come back again. Will definitely recommend to someone in the area!

The room is elegant, beautifully decorated, and very cozy. Each table has distinct tea cups, and in the corner, you will find a old fashioned crib with a teddy bear inside. With the fireplace, it simply adds to the charm and warmth of the place. As a person who enjoys going to "High Teas" and has been to many, this place is definitely worth the drive. The food is homemade and simply delicious. Not to mention the mouthwatering deserts. The price was very reasonable for all the food we had. I visited this place on my actual birthday, and the attention was fabulous. Thank you for making my birthday day very special. We will definitely be coming back!!! Two additional things I would like to add are: 1. As I mentioned above, the price was very reasonable, but I would charge more because the attention to the detail in the overall food merits it!!! 2. I understand that sometimes things can happen, and we may not be able to make a reservation we have, but please always be mindful and respectful to the owners because, at the end of the day they are out the money and the food goes to waste!!!
