I first saw Peter's work at a little booth at Dole and felt like this was the type of jewelry I've been looking for all along but didn't realize it until I saw it! Pretty pressed flowers and brightly colored algae put into a pendant, bracelet or ear rings (among all the other options!) was so lovely. His show at the Made in Hawai'i Craft Festival was even better. I couldn't decide which piece I liked best and made a mental note to check out the website. I didn't have too much disposable income (ahem) at the time but always kept this jewelry in the back of my mind. (they're not pricey either I just work in the non-profit world ;) Fast forward it is about to be my sister's birthday and I thought the ivory locket would be perfect: an elegant way to say I love you by putting a picture of the two of us as kids inside. It was last minute and I was reluctant to try and ask for a piece right away as each one is made to order. I thought I would try and call and lo and behold Peter was so gracious and accommodating- he rushed the order for me and two days later I had the necklace in my hands! I had to write a review for the amazing service Peter has provided me. I was in Hawaii and wanted a souvenir to take back home... And what better than an orchid? I strolled through many streets of Hilo and Kona till one of the vendors mentioned "Real Flower Jewelry". Unfortunately, I couldn't find the booth, so ended up calling Peter. I told him that I wanted two orchid pendants and if he could ship them to me. I spend about ten minutes chatting with him about the various options he provided. He mentioned that he would take down my credit card details, but won't charge them till he actually confirms that the order is shipped. The package for whatever reason was delivered to a wrong address and returned, but he was kind enough to ship it again. I was also confused between the type of chain I wanted, and ended up ordering a black sold thread, instead of the silver. When I emailed him about my confusion, he separately sent me another paid of chains. How kind of him! The pendants look charming and can't wait to wear them at an event! read more

Been a fan of these flowers for over 10 years! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! not living in hawaii anymore, i miss he orchids and wearing on of these fills my heart. they are real orchids, with a genius coating that preserves them so beautifully. They bring me joy wearing but i've also notices they bring joy to others as i wear them. The magnet claps are great for wearing on clothing and even work on hair, though i prefer the agitator clips for hair. Buy more than one, you wont regret it! read more

When I was vacationing on the big island, I met Peter at the Hilo farmer's market. I was with my Dad and Peter was so wonderful and his flower jewelry is fantastic. My Dad and I bought 4 pairs of earrings as gifts and I bought one more for myself. Peter didnt have the exact design I wanted so he took my order and shipped it to me at home!!! After reading the first review, I feel compelled to comment. I met Peter at a craft fair in Kailua-Kona. I found him to be a delightful person. Peter spent a long time speaking with my wife and me about the flowers he uses, especially a hybrid white orchid plant developed to bloom at a different time of year and the special flower that occurs occasionally on these plants. We purchased a beautiful pin for a friend - but I had a special pair of earrings in mind for my wife's birthday. It was months later when I contacted Peter to request the earrings. They are similar to one of his designs but also different enough to make them hard to describe. I did my best to explain my request and he did his best to create them. Although the first pair he sent was beautiful, they were not the design I had imagined in my mind's eye. Peter worked with me to make a second pair that was exactly what I had in mind. Peter was patient and went out of his way to take extra time to figure out what I wanted and then to make something special... for a single pair of earrings! The whole experience was both interesting and pleasant. I am grateful to Peter for his creativity and for embodying the spirit of aloha that we enjoy when visiting Hawaii! read more

Years ago, I bought one of the orchid pins that Peter Honeyman had made and was selling at the Hilo Farmer's Market. It was a gift for my mother for Mother's Day. She wore it every Mother's Day thereafter and on other occasions throughout the year. She recently died at 96 years old. As I was going through her jewelry, I found the orchid pin, but one of the petals had been crushed by the box. The next time I went to Hawaii, I asked Peter if he would repair it for me.
