They're SO great working with melanated skin, I've never felt so comfortable with a white/white passing person EVER. As a black person, I'm always watchful of how white/white passing people treat me. This experience has been one of the best. They're a great conversationalist as well, but also know when to just chill in the moment. They have great taste in music, which helps keep the vibe light or high energy as needed. We take frequent breaks upon request, and move around as needed if the position is not comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. Also, the ink always shows up and looks vibrant on my skin (which is darker/more melanated). We've done some color tattoos, which can be difficult on darker skin, but they make it look easy. They test the color first, and then go with it. I've consistently been getting tattoos from them, and honestly don't really want to go to anyone else. The work just isn't as good! My set up is all anodized titanium with white opal, so I was thrilled to see they had multiple opal offerings for the initial piercing. As expected from an APP certified shop, it was done with a titanium flat back and push fit end. The person at the front desk was very sweet and I was taken back for the piercing after a few minutes. I believe my piercer's name was Rachael, who was also fantastic. Very calming and knowledgeable presence with thorough explanation and aftercare instructions. The entire process was as comfortable as getting a needle through your face could ever hope to be! Overall very happy with my experience and would absolutely return or recommend to others!
