Previously my service here was good although today I called and asked if they could check out this bump on my nose from a recent piercing they said make an appointment online. So I did, scheduled for 3:45 I get there at 3:30 and the door is locked with a sign saying "be back at 4:45" So I left. I get a message at 4:10 saying "are you still coming in for you appointment." I called and told them what happened and they still proceeded to try and charge me a $15 cancel fee even after she realized the sign on the door did in fact say 4:45 instead of 3:45. I told them I was at my appointment early and if the door said 3:45 I would've gladly waited. I came into Poppy's Parlour for the $10 poke promotion as I'm sure many people do. I saw on the website that it's $10 + the cost of the jewelry Okay that's fine. When I was picking the jewelry the piercing came out to be like $120. I asked my piercer what the cheapest nose ring was because paying $120 for a nostril piercing is insane and she reccomended a diamond stud, but didn't disclose the new price. I was like Okay yea whatever that works. I like the piercing placement and the staff were generally nice to me and my cousin who were both getting pierced that day. When I went to look at my piercing I noticed that the jewelry that the piercer used was not the jewelry I had picked when we were deciding prior so I mentioned that and she apologized and said she would just charge me for whatever one I initially wanted, but when I went up to pay that was a different story. I got charged the $120 for the jewelry I didn't even decide on in the first place. I explained myself to the cashier, but she politely told me about how the policy is that I am expected to pay for the jewelry I received so I was like whatever I'm irritated I'll just pay it so I can go. Now that its been a while after getting pierced I'm irritated because the piercing jewelry is pretty cheap. After 2 days the ball on my cousins horse-shoe fell off and she lost the piercing. My nostril piercing started swelling which I'm assuming is due to the metal of the jewelry since I'm sensitive to them. I suppose I should've asked what material the product was, but I've never had any irritation or problems from my prior nostril piercing or my septum. Now, I am left with a bloody and puss filled irritation bump around my piercing that I cannot get rid of. Very disappointed in my experience and the fact that it was DOUBLE the price of a nostril piercing at a tattoo shop just added insult to injury. read more

I got a lip piercing from this lady and I asked her to change it to a longer barbell because my skin was growing over it and it was too swollen/crooked to the point that half of it was digging into my skin and I had to have it removed and another piercing shop pierced it with much better placement and didn't flirt with my boyfriend while asking him about his glassblowing business instead of talking to the person that was actually paying and giving this Rachel (poppy's parlour) business... Didn't get a reponce for over a month and I still haven't heard back from this person. I'm usually not one to complain like this, I think it's the fact that I was treated like trash for someone who was trying to support your business. This affected me emotionally and physically as now I have another hole in my face that doesn't have any metal in it because my original piercer (you) was so unprofessional and distracted by my friend. I originally sent in for a septum piercing and a nostril piercing, upon consultation Poppy found that I had no "sweet spot" and a diviated septum that would cause a septum piercing to be crooked. (1) jewelry prices are not posted at all. (2)! My main problem is after I asked the price of the jewelry they only initially told me the price of each earring, $17 each or $37 after tax for the pair. Great I thought. $57 out the door for the most basic earring post. But here is what annoyed me. Right before we were set to go back I was approached again w an another? quote of $113 for both ears pierced. What changed? Nothing. But apparently it's like $25 each for the back posts? Which aren't included in the initial jewelry quote. I asked if this "special post" was necessary and I was told yes it was on ALL the jewelry. She was amazing and didn't use a gun or clamp, felt around to make sure where the earring was going to go was anatomically accurate and placed correct. We were having a hard time finding a piercing place that had 18 gauge hoop rings for the nose. I called and this place had them! She was so nice and so helpful and even put the nose ring in to my fiancé's nose for him with no extra charge. I've been charged at other places when one of my forward helix piercings fell out and asked them to put it in for me. It was easy to navigate and to book me and my boyfriends appointments. We both scheduled to get 3 piercings. The room was small but had enough room to have everything that needed to be done in there. We got there on time and Poppy had showed us our options for our jewelry. I chose 2 moon earrings and these dots. My boyfriend got 2 cat earrings and a spider. Both of our jewelry that we chose are titanium. I gotten my conch and my doubles pierced. The conch didn't hurt for me and my lobes felt like a pinch. My boyfriend got his lobes and his helix pierced. We both ended up purchasing the piercing cleaner. Out piercings were about $126 each. The piercing itself costed $30 each for 3. Went back in December and got a nose piercing. I went in expecting a stud and planned on changing it to a hoop once it healed. I was told that if I took care of the piercing that a hoop would be okay and it doesn't affect the healing process. I got a huge piercing bump that refused to heal. I cleaned my piercing three times a day and did everything recommended in hopes of healing the bump. I ended up going to another piercer to get my nose checked out. The piercer looked at it for about three seconds and said verbatim "oh yea it's f***ed". He said it was pierced at the wrong angle, used the wrong type of hoop, cheap gold was used, and placed in my nose too tight. I had to get it removed and I plan on getting it repierced by someone else. read more

Went to Poppy's in December my daughter . Ended up deciding to pierce my nose. I was really happy with my nose piercing, until I started to get a nose bump. ( mind you, my daughter got one too and ended up having to take her piercing out as it was done incorrectly). Went to a different place for a second opinion, and luckily they were able to salvage my piercing by changing the hardware. They told me the nose post she recommended/used was too short, so when my tissue swelled, there was not enough room for the jewelry, creating a tightness and friction.
