I haven't been to too many Real Canadian Superstore, and this one is quite literally "A-OK", in a not bad and not great kind of way. My Canadian friends call this the Walmart of Canada. Be that as it may, there are actually water tanks of live seafood including lobsters here. What!?! This store features Joe Fresh clothing, has all the usual health and beauty, home items, and a full size grocery store. When I'm here, I like to check out the health items in case there's something cheaper than the U.S. One time, I scored some Sensodyne toothpaste at half the cost. Coming here after the holidays has all the usual after holidays sale that is quite good too. Being from the U.S., I also come here to buy Old Dutch ketchup chips and Malteasers. Old Dutch is a Canadian brand; gotta pay homage! :) The strange thing about this store is that they always seem to be moving inventories around such that big parts of aisles are empty. I always wonder what I am missing. And for those who miss "generic" items, even if for grins only, you can find plain yellow packaged items for dry goods. Not an awesome store but it serves the purpose.

Throwing a Superstore in Richmond, and right on No. 3 Road is a traffic nightmare in it's own right! When this location first opened, it was alot worse, as it was the new big-box shop in town, but things have died down, but not by much. You still have the crazy parking lot that you have to manuver with other crazy looking for deals, shopping for the month of grocery type families. This Superstore in one word is: huge. When you enter this monster of a store, you really feel the size of this thing. The one thing I must say from the start is, that I do not like the entrance, I mean, it is great if you are pushing a cart, as you have to make this long walk up a ramp, turn on to another ramp and you are there, but where is the "save your time" stairway for people who aren't mass shopping, and being crammed into the stroller-way. Other than that, this is probably one of the most central locations for a Superstore in the Lower Mainland, and that it adds to the congestion of cars. Just remember, when you are coming here, it is never a simple run in, and run out, it takes some effort at this store.

I found this store to be clean and decently stocked. Stocks were clearly marked. They had a good amount of ethnic food.

It was absolutely packed to the brim, but that was to be expected since it was the weekend. Everyone was generally very polite and considerate of everyone around though, which was nice and honestly not very common in American markets. I really appreciated their seafood display. They also had a great variety. Langostino was a really unique item to have at the fish counter! I was absolutely blown away by the pre-made food section. The presentation on their pre-made food made me feel like I was transported to a night market! There were almost too many things to look at.

No idea why they moved out, but whatever. 88 has a couple of locations in Vancouver, but because I'm on the wrong side of the tracks, it's a jaunt to get those stores. They don't welcome my kind of riff raff presence either way, so here I came. Another Asian supermarket? Yes, but this one is a little different from all the other ones in Richmond. This one is more Pan Asian, instead of Chinese focussed. More so than T&T. Got be diverse, no? Malaysian Filipino Vietnamese Chinese Were the samplings I ascertained. I noticed that they have untrimmed beef flank. Not too many places sell this. The store is relatively new. There's a parking lot in the back that can get a bit crazy and busy. Rice World up the street has a crazier parking experience. It may get like this here too one day. I saw some very low prices on poultry. There's a hot food section for take out. This place reminds me a lot of Chong Lee Market in East Van So far so good. I think I'm coming back.

It's only this store, and another one all the way in Markham, Ontario. If you are a true foodie looking for legitimate Wagyu from A3-A5 as well as true Kobe beef certified by Kobe-Niku: This is your ONLY choice. They have the papers and bronze statue to prove it. Any others claiming they sell Wagyu or even Kobe beef are either selling an American or Australian variety.. or they're lying just for marketing purposes. Darumaya is THE BEST shop for not only Wagyu beef, but I've had the fortune to stumble upon them selling Crown Melons every now and then whenever they're in season. If you want incredible Japanese products that you cannot normally find elsewhere; this is the place. Customer service is incredible, and friendly Had the pleasure of buying a few of their Wagyu steaks, and saying it's one of the best cuts of meat I've ever bought is an understatement. True and literal melt-in-your-mouth steak. Will return 1000%

My favourites being Yuzu Meltykiss, sugared Yuzu peels and specialty Calbee. The Kitkat selection is small from my experience (1-3 varieties) and T&T still remains the leader for me in that category. You'd be wrong to think that nearby Izumiya is identical, as Darumaya sells things more suited to an individual instead of family sized. Products are also more unique and different, with the store's small footprint making it like a maze with lots to discover. It's a great place to go if you're looking for unique snacks to mail to friends elsewhere or to share locally. Chips go for around $2.99-$3.99 a bag though. I also appreciate the thoughtfulness of the small drinks fridge beside the checkout, paired with the non-refrigerated drinks on another shelf. My foodie friend and I remark at the price of the frozen, vacuum sealed wagyu and fresh sashimi every time we go. We're not chefs, but they are both out of our price range, most likely attributed to import charges for a small establishment. However, if you can afford quality, I'm sure it'll be there. The sashimi is very fresh and prepared in house though, but having lived here so long, there are other places to get quality sashimi for less.

On Jan 14, 2026 I had an extremely unpleasant experience the CF Richmond Centre store in BC. I bought 2 Oral B io series toothbrushes that were on sale, paid by debit card but almost immediately, realized that I should have paid for the toothbrushes by credit card. So I went to the back of the line and when I came up to the cashier, I asked that the purchase of the 2 toothbrushes be reversed so that I could pay for them by credit card. When I explained that I had made a mistake and wanted to pay by credit card instead of debit, the cashier first told me that I would lose all Optimum points associated with the initial purchase even if I were to buy back the same items immediately. She strongly discouraged me from changing mode of payment. She highlighted the points on the receipt to emphasize that those points were a "one time only" reward and would all be lost even if I were to buy the same items again. Then when she rung up the items for a second time, she stamped "Final Sale" on the receipt. I'm at a loss to understand her actions: Why would the same items paid for by credit suddenly become a final sale. I find it to be incredibly sharp practice for your cashier to take unfair advantage of a customer's mistake particularly when the mistake was discovered almost immediately. All these transactions occurred in under 6 minutes.
