Wow, the beauty of the details, the multiple layers of history actually leave you in awe and with so many questions. It's like getting a hands on immersive history lesson like no other. Be prepared to walk walk walk walk.

Gorgeous complex! Doors open at 9:30a so if you have entry to the Cuarto Real, you'll need to line up past security in the right side of the courtyard on the second floor. This quarter is the most modern portion. All bags including phones need to be stored in lockers. A handheld audioguide will be given snd your group will be ushered by the guards. If your booking is later, start with the different palaces. There is the Gothic palace (two large rooms) to the left of the main courtyard, the Yeso Palace to the right, and Pedro's Palace in front, which consists of the mujedar style and the most iconic shots of the complex. The gardens behind the complex are quite vast, with fountains, pools, balconies, trimmed hedges, a hedge maze, sculptures, and peacocks roaming freely. The audioguide can be found online, though it worked unreliably depending on my connection. Great place to visit! I think I preferred the Alhambra complex a but more but this was still stunning.

Beautiful attraction, not quite ADA/stroller compliant but they have done their best, with the addition of ramps along the stairs. Getting into the lower gardens and the lower(underground) palace may be hard. Be prepared to leave stroller. Parts of the Upper Palace are for ticketed guests. I purchased the General admission and there's an app or website that provides a self guided tour. I love the preservation of the title work, tapestry, portraits and gardens. Definitely an all day event to step back in time.

Real Alcázar de Sevilla should be on every visitors list to Seville. Palace, former residence, beautiful gardens, a collection of various architecture... so many ways to describe this memorable place. Others have mentioned while planning a visit to make sure to buy advanced tickets online and as soon as you know you want to visit to get preferred morning time slots. There are recorded self guided tours available. We opted to go with live tour guide who was filled with so much knowledge. Our group had many ohhs and ahhs and questions and our tour guide was fantastic in accommodating all of them. He also slowed the pace down in the most picturesque spots and gave us tips on where to stand for best photos; most of mine not yet extracted from memory card. If visiting Seville be sure to add this one on your stops!

Another visit to this beautiful old fort/castle in Seville. Tickets are best to be bought online weeks in advance. There are security guards managing the entry, so they check your ticket and if you have anything but a General admission ticket, they will ask to see some ID like passport or driver's license. The grounds are beautiful. Usually the way to get in is by the Lion's Gate.

This was on the top of our list to see when in Sevilla. Bought tickets on-line at least a month or two before we were going to visit (even in this lower season) otherwise you will waste an hour or more waiting to buy tickets. Also get the first entry time of 9:30am and get there at least 15 minutes early. It is a bit chaotic with big crowds even at this time. Bring an ID that matches the ticket info. The audioguide is good (6 euros) but the signage throughout the palace is inconsistent so at times you are not sure what audio clip you should be listening to. There is no real path so despite the numbers on the audio guide we just wandered. The throne room is super impressive as are the gardens. The detailing throughout is incredible. We spent over 2 hours exploring. Overall I think this was better than the Alhambra in Granada.

Fantastic site and a must see. I did a tour by myself, did not find it necessary to hire a guide but YMMV. Bought my ticket a week or two in advance and went at 10AM. Best to get there in the morning with lesser crowds and before it gets too hot. I spent more than 2 hours checking out the inside as well as the fabulous grounds. Personal tip: bypass all the tour groups and make a beeline straight for the "Game of Thrones" room to get the best possible photographs with fewer people (tour groups are viewing other areas prior). Afterwards, head to the beautiful grounds where you will see peacocks--and might get lucky, as I did, with one spreading its wings. Then go back and check out the indoor rooms you initially bypassed. A must visit in Seville. Upon exiting you will also have an excellent vantage point to take pics of The Cathedral.

Very cool architecture and plenty of good photo ops. It gets pretty crowded though. The only thing I did not like was the website when buying my ticket which is why i docked it a star. The bad thing is you can't verify your date before you push the purchase button.

This is a very spacious palace. If you find yourself in Sevilla, make a reservation online . It's very difficult to go last minute. You must make a reservation and you must print out your ticket.. We were there and visited for roughly 2 1/2 hours is a lot of walking. There's so much to see in the beautiful grounds are gorgeous. Give yourself time to really look around and experience all the halls and the magnificent grounds. They do have a café on property as well as a beautiful gift shop . ( there you can find find jewelry, and also books on the actual palace itself and the history.) There is no time limit so you can stay as long as you like your beautiful fountains, daughter throughout the property 20 of sitting areas to just sit and reflect or perhaps decompress from a long day in Seville, which can become pretty chaotic as it is very popular... This in my Pinyan is a must see if you're going to be in Seville, so we highly recommend you make a reservation and enjoy every moment

Yes it is super touristy (even if you come when they first open!) but it is the most beautiful palace I have ever seen. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is super impressive. Pictures truly don't do it justice but I can see why this place was chose for Dorne in Game of Thrones! Worth every penny, spend a good 4 ish hours here. Pro tip: Bring bug spray. Was not expecting to get bug bites in Spain but I did at the gardens here.

Historic palace and gardens. Must visit while in Seville! It was a little crowded--not a bad idea to buy tickets in advance. I hired a guide and was glad I did, since he was able to describe the building and grounds much better than any audio guide. Do not miss.

I would've flown here just to see it by itself. This is really an OMG. Indescribable, you've to see it for yourself.

One word - amazing! This far exceeded all expectations, and my jaw was on the floor in many of the rooms here. We went around twice on several areas because we felt like we missed so much going through the palace grounds the first time around. This is so underrated (is that possible?) and definitely worth allocating about 2 hours to go through the entire grounds. They also filmed some GOT episodes here, it's much more impressive in person. Don't bother waiting in line, get your tickets online and go straight to the entrance. If you are waiting in line at the entrance, get a cup of freshly squeezed juice at the stall across the street.

Amazing moorish art and arquitecture. Beautiful gardens. The Alcazar of Seville is major expression of Al-Andalus heritage.

The Giralda is the bell tower of Seville Cathedral. It was built as the minaret for the Great Mosque of Seville in al-Andalus, during the reign of the Almohad dynasty, with a Renaissance-style belfry added by the Catholics after the expulsion of the Muslims from the area. The Cathedral, including the Giralda, was registered in 1987 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with the Alcázar and the General Archive of the Indies. It remains one of the most important symbols of the city, as it has been since the Middle Ages. The tower is one of the most famous monuments of Moorish architecture in Spain and one of the most refined examples of Almohad architecture. There's a weather vane all the way on the top that moves only with very heavy winds....LOL.... Beautiful at night...all lit up....

Highly recommend climbing to the top to get the most amazing 360 view of Seville. They don't have stairs - instead it's a paved incline that have 35 ramps and then a few stairs at the top ... each floor is marked so you can see your progress. It's not an easy climb - the windows along the way is a great place to catch your breath :) I read that the ramps were built to allow the Sultan to ascend mounted on horseback to see the beautiful view. Your entrance fee to the Seville Cathedral includes the bell tower. Oh, and be warned when the bell towers ring, they are super loud - like I thought I might have gone deaf, lol. I visited during the winter so it was cool inside but during the summer, I heard it gets hot & stuffy ... one of the reviews recommended visiting first thing in the morning.
