We have a new DDB puppy (Ruby)and we were looking for a new Vet.. We came to Reagor and met with Angela before we brought our dog. Angela was extremely helpful and caring.. 2 weeks later we made an appointment with our puppy and saw Dr. Faith. Dr. Faith is amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful and I believe Ruby fell in love with her! We love this place. Every person there is kind and caring! They treat our dog well and treat us with much kindness and respect! Highly recommend Reagor! read more

Took my 11 week old puppy to get check up and puppy plan. Very disappointed! We have gone there for 30 years.. and when we decided to get another pet, it was natural to go where we have gone forever. Very disorganized, they didnt check her mouth or weigh her or temperature. The vet didn't know how to even use the scale. Zero bedside manner. The feeling we got was it was all about the money and didn't leave a warm fuzzy at all. I would highly recommend going to compassionate vet that cares, and can offer information for new puppy owners. Apparently this has changed hands in ownership since we haven't been in there for 5 years. Very very disappointed. read more

Dr Z was horrible. No empathy. Did not want to examine my dog (18 pounds.) Provided medication script but advised me to consider end of life plans. I'm connected to vet techs in the community who all discourage seeing her. I'm out after 28 years. read more

Update. My dog passwd away , went in for allergies and was given medication that was not advised for a dog they suspected had cushings, even after I told them that I thought the medication was causing issues they directed me to keep using it. My sweet adorable Shihtzu went over the rainbow bridge, they knew.... no condolences, no empathy just another one bites the dust to them, they do however remind me that she is gone with emails telling me to bring her in for a recheck. WTF.... If you value your pets life DO NOT go here... read more

Terrible experience, I would strongly recommend looking for a better pet health provider. They are frequently off schedule when I visit and I will be waiting up to an extra 30min for my appointment. The staff make me feel like I'm being an imposition even being there. Most recently, I tried to fill a heartworm prescription and they told me because the medication would last past when my annual visit was due that I could not fill the prescription...Its Heartworm medication! They offered to let me fill a one month prescription, but at this point I just think it might be best to find a better provided that wants to provide help. read more

Reagor is an excellent veterinary practice. Over the past 20 years, they have cared for eight of my pets, including managing long-term chronic illnesses. They are not overly aggressive recommending expensive treatments if there is a work-around--they will try to match treatments to stay within your budget. That said, pet medical care is expensive everywhere. However, because Reagor is a local family-owned business, they are not bound by strict corporate protocols designed by a faceless company where profits take priority over you and your pet's well-being. They spend as much time as necessary with you and your pet--not a corporate-designated block of minutes. Reagor, like many practices, had a hard time during Covid, which intensified an existing shortage of vets. After the difficulties of Covid, many doctors now prefer to be travelling vets, and this makes staffing difficult. The owner, Dr. Hart, volunteers at wildfire sites to care for pets who are separated from their owners and injured as a result of the chaos and destruction. The staff is friendly. There is a whiteboard in the waiting area that welcomes by name all the pets who have appointments that day. I highly recommend Reagor. It is a loving, neighborhood small business and deserves our patronage. read more

The staff is about the only constant at this Pet Hospital. I have been going here for 5 years and not once has my pet been seen by the same vet. It seems like they are using traveling vets. It would be nice to develop a relationship with just one vet who takes care of your pets. The last vet we saw there was knowledgeable but was lacking in compassion. The staff is great and very nice. read more

If i could give this place zero stars I would. Ive been coming to this vet for some years now and this last year has been awful. I took my cat for a cleaning while under sedation. I was advised at his check up 2 teeth may need to be pulled which they did. When picking him up they said it went great and that he would recover in no time. I was given several medications to give to him to which I started as advised. He was doing great for 3 days and on the 4th day he was completly lifeless! Vomiting, hiding and hissing (he has never hissed a day in his life). I couldnt touch him without him crying in pain. I had called their emergency line and was advised to wait and see how if he improves. I had called back several hours later and no one was willing to help me and actually gave me another emergency vet to have them "take care of it". I was completely shocked as to how unorofessional all 3 offices were in the circumstance. I had decided to drive up to El Dorado Hills to a trusted Vet that my sister goes to and they were fantastic. The Dr at that vet told me he was given uneccesary medications for his cleaning and was basically overdosing my cat almost killing him! I was so upset about what I was advised and also the additional money I had to spend for this nightmare. It was quite a large over $700.00. I sent reagor a email regarding my concerns and hopes for maybe some kind of reimbursment. I was ignored for a couple of days with no response so I decided to call them and asked for his records and talked to the receptionist about what had happened. No compassion no nothing instead, I got was "Ill email the records" Do not trust this vet at all! read more

This place has changed. The new vet is lacking in compassion, bordering on rude. I also felt disrespected. I also think the prices are extreme. If you don't have a purebred dog, don't go here.I miss Dr.Faith.She was so nice. read more

We have been taking our pets to Reagor for more than 20 years. Before this year, I would have given Reagor a 5 star rating. However, this past year they have been going down hill. At this point I would give them less than one star if Yelp allowed it. It's no longer about taking care of your pets, it's all about money. While Dr. Hart still owns Reagor, she no longer works there and I'm told by staff has no plans to return. I'm told staff is trying to keep things going and they have rotating vets. If Dr. Hart were returning I might stick it out but rotating vets doesn't sound like where I want to go. read more

They were ok. But I would not go back for the following reasons: I don't think it's a Fear Free vet: the vet techs, especially some of the male ones, have very loud voices and were talking very loud, and it was scaring my kitten. Other staff were letting doors slam and such. During the exam, the male tech was talking very loud, again scaring my kitten. Then the female doctor came in and also spoke very loud. They don't seem to have any grasp on the psyche of animals, so I wouldn't want to take an animal back there for care. I asked the doctor if my kitten might have feline coronavirus or the resulting FIP and she dismissed this as she said she hadn't seen much of it. If a doctor ever says that, I am always wary. Especially since feline corona virus/FIP is very common in shelter cats! Ok so I guess since you haven't seen it much, it doesn't exist. Got it. Very scientific reasoning (I'm being very sarcastic here) It's a small place and there's no separate waiting rooms for dogs and cats. They didnt seem to know that Giardia can shed intermittently. So when my kittens fecal test came back negative, they just said that's a good thing. They also were unable to tell me exactly what kind of test it had been. They were just like. It was all of them. So they don't seem to know a whole lot. read more

This review is long overdue. We took our beloved senior pup here when she was declining. We expected to take her home that day, but after a long discussion we decided to let her go humanely after discovering she was in heart failure. I cannot remember the name of the vet we saw, but she is my angel. She gave my fiancé and I ample time to say goodbye to our Sophie, and she treated all three of us with genuine care. I asked some other staff members if they had any treats we could give Sophie, and they came back with a handful of leftover Halloween candy, and one of the technicians was genuinely kind enough to offer me her chinese food that she brought for lunch! Of course I didn't take her up on it, but I think about her kindness every day. I never felt pressured, just guided and informed of the benefits and disadvantages. To the Reagor team, thank you. Thank you for caring for us, for treating us with compassion, and for handling my sweet baby with love. read more

THE EMAIL I SENT REAGOR PET HOSPITAL. First part is their reply. "I have forwarded your e-mail to our doctor assistant, and she will make sure it gets sent on within our office. We are very sorry for your loss." This is it!! READ ENTIRE POST, IT'S BEYONG HEARTBREAKING. Hello, I am writing to inform the hospital that my cat died this morning from being poisoned by Bravecto flea treatment. I came to the hospital January 7, 2022 looking for a safe and effective flea treatment. I saw a Veterinarian and explained in great detail how my cat was allergic to Advantage. I explained that when I gave him Advantage he became lethargic and lost his hair on his neck where the topical was applied. So, I was looking for a much safer and less harsh flea treatment. The Veterinarian prescribed Bravecto. She explained that Bravecto is super safe and one of the most sensitive flea treatments out there. I thought about it for 2 weeks before purchasing it. I administered Bravecto January 23, 2022, and noticed within days the topical was not soaking into his skin, just like Advantage didn't soak in. I started washing off the solution. He stopped eating and drinking water, so I called and made a follow up appointment. I brought him in on February 6, 2022, and the Veterinarian that prescribed the Bravecto dismissed his symptoms. I tried to explain his symptoms and I did not feel heard. I mentioned there is a class action lawsuit going on with Bravecto and her response was "There is a class action lawsuit on everything!" I took him to an emergency Vet to get fluids and some answers. I then took him to The Sacramento Cat hospital. I was discussing my cats symptoms and reactions to Advantage flea medication and the Vet Technician told me he had flea allergy dermatitis. I find it interesting that your Veterinarian did not mention this. And if he had flea allergy dermatitis then any of those products would be harmful. By the way Bravecto is a pesticide. I ended up taking him to another emergency Veterinarian to get an ultrasound and X-rays. His blood work was ran 3 different times by 3 different Vets and he was healthy. He had No underlining health conditions. His breathing had become labored, I had to give him appetite stimulants to get him to eat, and I had to give him fluids to try and flush the pesticide out of him and to hydrate him. I also was administering pain medication and anti-nausea medicine on a regular basis. I went to the end of the earth to cure him from this poisoning, $5,400 to be exact. However, today I walked down the stairs to see my cat dead on the floor. Ever since he became sick I have been researching Bravecto and this product is killing a lot of cats and dogs. I will be calling the FDA and Merk the manufacturer of Bravecto to report what happened to my cat. I am attaching links to inform you what I have since learned about Bravecto. I hope you take this seriously. Purchased puppy package for initial shots, microchip and 10% discount on spay. Made appt to spay the pup after 4th round of shots. A few weeks later office called to change appointment date which brought me back from a vacation a day early. I wanted procedure done sooner than later so I agreed. Original estimate was based off of 50-74 pounds. Upon arrival the dog weighed 34 pds. I asked for revised cost which increased $10. When I inquired about increase I was told original estimate had extra discount which was an error and Dr refused to honor it. Receptionist also added cost for cone collar which was previously included as $00.00 on quote. She was also going to charge for microchip before I reminded it was included in the $400+ I had already paid them. Cost should have gone down since dog weighed far less than they anticipated. If error on initial quote was internal then it should be honored. The extra $10 was not the issue, it's principal and good business practice. They ended up refunding $70 for pre paid microchip and lost $574.00 for surgery plus a young patient who would have been seen multiple times throughout her life. We've been taking our cats to Reagor Hospital for 12.5 years and we have always been very happy with them. Excellent customer service!! I came here as a referral from Animal Arden Hospital and I'm SO GLAD I DID! I can't remember the last time I felt so welcome anywhere let alone a veterinarian office. I had to put my baby Pookie down who I had for 17 years so it was devastating for me. The staff here couldn't have been more kind throughout the entire process. Dr. Laura Hart spoke very gently while explaining all of my options thoroughly, she was SO sympathetic and I felt she Truly cared about me and Pookie and it was her first time meeting both of us. The process went very smoothly and for such a sad day, they couldn't have made it any better than they did. My little girl was in my arms the whole time, she was comfortable, safe, calm, and definitely left in peace and that's all we can ask for as pet parents. I knew she got the highest level of care possible and I couldn't be more thankful. The total cost was so affordable, my bill was approx $145 for everything. After losing a pet, it's devastating, especially if you live alone and your pets are your children. A few days after Pookie was put down I received a card from Reagor and not just any card, the front of the card appeared to a photo of Pookie's front paws in a heart ( maybe it was their standard photo but it looked like her paws), then on the inside of the card were handwritten messages from EVERY single staff member at Reagor hospital! They all wrote warm sayings that truly comforted me. The best part was they also included Pookie's paw print stamped on a card that said ," In Loving Memory of Pookie". It was unbelievably kind and made me feel so good knowing they treated my baby girl with such love and kindness! I cannot recommend this place enough, they are ALWAYS WONDERFUL AND WELCOMING! I found a diamond in the rough when I found this place. I LOVE THEM! Thank you to All the staff at Reagor, you are always wonderful , from receptionists, the vet assistants to the Dr's, you all give first class service! I appreciate people like you!! read more

I LOVE Reagor! My parents have been coming here for 20 years with 2 cats and now I drive all the way from midtown for my dog because I love it so much. My parents cat had an injury that could have required a whole bunch of procedures but instead Dr. Tripp saw him every week for 6 weeks to make sure it healed properly on its own (free of charge!!) It was such a relief she could confirm every week it was getting better and we didn't have to pay for expensive procedures. My dog has also had some issues with his anal glands and they have taken things off my bill that they thought were necessary but maybe not required. With covid they are awesome, you don't have to go inside they just come get your animal. The will give you a call in the parking lot to give you a synopsis of what is going on but also the Vet called me after hours so she could spend more time going over what I needed to do and what to look out for. Awesome prices, awesome service. read more

I would leave 1 star if I could. I set up an appointment to have my 13-14 year old cat euthanized due to have issues using the restroom, vomiting blood and having bloody diarrhea as well as blind and becoming aggressive towards my other cat. The vet said he was a healthy cat an they refused to euthanize him. That night I had to rush my cat to emergency hospital for emergency euth due to a ruptured bladder. I refused to recommend this place to anyone due to their lack of quality of life and lack of concern towards my cat.
