I've had several issues with different Drs at this place. First my senior cat was sick and I was limited on funds. We spent all the money I had on trying to treat him when one day I realized he was dying. I called to please have him in for euthanasia. I had the fee for euthanasia but they were demanding an additional "work in fee". I didn't have that. I had been going there for years and was beyond disgusted for this. My cat ended up dying a horribly painful death that day. I found them to be cruel when the point of euthanasia is to stop or prevent suffering. read more

I have been impressed. Being a Veterinarian is not an easy job and working in a vet's office (I would assume) is not easy either. They have to work with sick animals and emotional humans. The emotional humans want their furry loved one to be ok, but unfortunately I think vets get a lot of "kill the messenger" stuff going on. I say this because my review could go either way, but when I reflect back on my experience working with them, I think they deserve 5 stars. I have used them on and off for many years, with various different animals, Rats, Cat, Dog. I am going to only speak of my current goings on with them. A few months ago our cat Salem, got an eye infection. He had a positive FIV diagnosis and we ended up getting his eye removed. Prior to this, I have never had a health issue with him, I've had him 8 years. Dr. Sarah went above and beyond the call of duty for Salem with this initial diagnosis. She called me after hours when she was at another clinic and wrote up a very detailed email about his diagnosis and what we needed to do for him. She was super sweet and understanding. I was truly shocked that she took so much time to explain things to me about this situation. We had the surgery, it went well and Salem was doing great! Then a few weeks ago, he stopped eating, he started losing weight but showed no other symptoms of anything. We took him back and she did a bunch of tests and unfortunately nothing is conclusive. I wanted to get a second opinion so they quickly and kindly got me all of his records and I took him for a second opinion, where they said the same thing. Nothing is conclusive and he does need a scan. So we scheduled it for next Tuesday. Although I wish we could do it sooner, I understand I can't get my way for him all the time. That was another thing that was impressive, they got me in super fast in the beginning of all this! While I do have a few pieces of constructive criticism for them, all in all my experience working with them for Salem, has been positive. The girls working in there are really sweet and their phone system is much better than it used to be. I do wish the were more into naturopathic remedies, as Dr. Zucca was, but I know that's personal preference. I highly recommend All About Pets. read more

We had been parents of 4+ clients/chihuahuas + a pug of 10+ years patients of this clinic for eons since early 1990's. Staff was great they were personable - the vets knew their pets and listened to the parents of the clients. One black friday making this part short one of our two at the time had gotten out due to my forgetfullness while shopping I had left the stove on and the firemen could not catch her in time; leading to her being put down at another location a year or so later due the accident that occurred - I had to make an appointment at another location Sunset Vets They All About Pets signed a condolence card and sent it to us, very sweet. Fast forward to 2023 Winter/Fall: My sister had called all about pets they did not have time to see her failing four legged child (at 4pmish) they close at 6pm; they told my sister they had two appointments and could not see Holly. A location close to my mom and sister (Fair Oaks Blvd and Greenback Lane C.H.) had told her the same thing basically and one of these two vets had stepped as low to tell her that don't bother calling to the other ER's they are all busy too and hung up. She called her niece up in Placerville and was referred to Insight - El Dorado Hills, CA, she called them they were more than happy to see her and see which direction they needed to go - on her way up the hill - her four legged passed away in her arms. The moral of this story is this; All About Pets went corporate - I had seen the decline with one of the employees saw the writing on the walls - If she's reading this she knows who she is - ("A" you are missed). This location has treated my mother's Bunnies well over the years. Overall the care is great. I may raise the stars later but right now I'm grieving and angry. I just put my mother's last bunny to sleep today. He was very weak and no longer enjoyed eating. It was time. Staff was very helpful and went through all the steps including warning me that, because bunny veins can't be located, the process could take a while. So I held him until the end. The staff came in and collected him and told me I could take my time before leaving. As an added note, his death hit even harder than I wanted to admit because he was the last living part left from my mother who passed suddenly in 2019. So not only am I morning him but my mother all over again. I can't fully break as the walls aren't the thickest, and that's the problem. If they have a sign or something saying to be courteous when someone's saying goodbye, no one followed it including the front desk staff. They were chatting and laughing to each other. Laughter while I'm trying to calm myself down from what feels like the rug was pulled out from beneath me? Unable to calm down, I put on my sunglasses, grabbed the empty pet carrier and left. No attempts at a goodbye. All only to continue my breakdown in my car until the tears stopped enough to be able to drive safely. I appreciate the care that was given to my mother's bunnies over the years and the help with Gizmo's passing. It's regretful that my last impression while leaving for the last time is anger and misery. I sincerely hope this clinic considers something in the future for courtesy to those in morning. I could understand if it was another patient, but not the front desk staff. Please do better for the next person in morning. read more

They are now owned by some corporation. It's all about the money. I tool a feral tomcat in for neutering, with arrival when they opened. He was supposed to be ready at about 3:30 PM. I called and they indicated it would be more like 5. No problem - so far. Then they called and told me he needed to have a broken fang extracted. $225 more. I said OK. When I called at about 5, they told me he had tested positive for feline leukemia. I have other cats, so the only choice was euthinasia. So even with a bit of a discount, I'm out $550 for a dead cat. The point is, they should have done the leukemia test first, waited for results, and then let me decide what to do. The had all day, and they knew that in the case of leukemia, all bets were off. So, the bottom line seems to be about the bottom line. Stay away from this place and any "corporate" vet. read more

This review pains me to write. I have been a client with this Vet clinic since I first moved to Citrus Heights in the late 80's. Every cat, dog, rat we owned was cared for here and they always did an amazing job of loving them back to health. Unfortunately times have changed and the clinic has changed hands. The staff has been almost completely replaced and I loved that they all knew us and our pets so well. That is gone, prices have increased to a ridiculous level and now on two separate occasions I never got the call back about test result. I have now been trying to get information about scheduling my dog for surgery For three days and the Vet isn't returning my call. Three weeks ago, we took our precious aging dog in to AAP...$220.00 later we learned that Peaches was doing pretty well overall...she had been tested for all kinds of potential problem areas. The Doctor told us that Peaches was doing well (no heart worm, no parasites in stool, thyroid normal, etc.). BUT the Doctor then said that Peaches' "platelet test" results were "very low", "dangerously low". The Doctor then said the results had to be incorrect in that there would be lots of obvious problems. She believed the test results came from a "poor sample"...and we were encouraged to come back only for the "platelets re-test" which they could do "in-house". Today, we "re-tested" as the Doctor suggested. And, we had Peaches' anal glands expressed as well. The Doctor came back and told us what she had expected...the platelets were "normal." An AAP support person notified us that the cost for this visit was $180.50! I protested... "I thought this was a 're-test'...that we'd just had an 'office visit'...two weeks earlier...and now we were going to be charged again?" She told me that she would check on my "protest". Two minutes later, I got the "Your dog is ready" text, followed by the charge for the full amount - $180.50. No comment. No follow-up... And I had to pay the full amount to get my dog back. I realize "businesses" are really struggling right now...but ripping off your loyal clients can't be good for business. Now my wife and I have to find another vet for our animals. I feel "ripped off" and not valued. This was a very frustrating experience. read more

Although my Cash is doing very well. I thought Dr Sara Ogren was his vet. The fact that his paperwork and communications stating his chip, nueter and lab work was 470 and it was confirmed via email then to learn that was wrong and they messed up. They agreed via email and said oh sorry no that's wrong. Again I paid double. he didn't even have the vet I consulted with and the price and email correspondence has been false I'm utterly disappointed. I felt comfortable with Sara Orge .... My beloved Mimi had to be put down last week (VCA emerg). When I picked Mimi up at All About Pets (Aug 29)-- was told she had a large hairball (via x-rays) and to give her hair ball remedy and they gave her nausea meds. A few days later there was no improvement--she still couldn't poop or eat much-- went back Sep 1 & given pills for nausea & A/D script food & shown how to feed it to her if she didn't eat it on her own. Was able to get her to eat a tiny amount but still no improvement. I then turned to VCA emergency clinic for help--after an ultrasound was performed Sep 4 it revealed she had a large mass (large cell cancer) in her intestines not a hairball. I wish All About Pets had recommended an ultrasound to begin with--would not have changed final outcome but I wouldn't have been trying to force my poor cat to eat or putting useless hairball remedy on her nose if knew she had cancer. read more

Yes my experience could have been better. I brought my dog in she was having breathing problems. I kept pleading with them is she going to be all right they wouldn' t give me a yes or no answer. I had to take someone home that was with me. They told me to go ahead that everything would be fine. Ten minutes after I left they call me and tell me she was dying. That it would be better if I gave them the ok to put her to sleep. I didn't want her to suffer so I told them to do it. I just wish they would have told me that she could end up dying while I was gone, I wouldn't have left. She was always there for me and when she needed me the most I wasn't there for her. 3 stars for Dr. Pazzi 1 star for caring for exotic pets The office seemed really busy this Saturday morning. There were 2 front desk assistants who were fielding calls, paperwork and check ins. We got there early as requested (10:45am) but didn't head back to the exam room until about 11:20am. Our pet saw Dr. Pazzi (pronounced Paw-zee) who was a very relaxed, down-to-earth, free-spirit type of person. She answered all of our questions and did not rush us. Although this was my first visit and I have nothing else to compare to, prices seem reasonable. $58 for exotic animal exam. $38 for lab test. We'll see how much meds/treatment cost if needed. read more

I got an invoice from this clinic a year after services were rendered. I paid for the visit/ invoice they charged me for the day my pet was seen. They then added an additional charge the very next day...for labs I had declined to have done. I told them I would have my vet order any tests. They didn't call me to authorize additional charges. I just get this random invoice/billing statement a year later. I have spent a lot of money on this pet over the years and I don't skip out on payments. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional staff in my life. Jodi the office manager was very rude on the phone with me threatening collection action. When I first brought my dog here I was nervous about the fact that All About Pets is located in a run down looking strip mall (hence the one star deduction) however once I stepped inside and met the staff I felt much more comfortable. Ever since that day my both of my Boston Terriers have been coming here and have received great care, attention, and accommodation. I am really impressed with the staff, especially Tameka at the front desk who is really knowledgeable. The prices for spay and neuter are less expensive than anywhere else I have looked, and All About Pets does not try to sell you different packages, and extras unless it's really necessary. For example, blood samples prior to spay/neuter are really only necessary for older animals or those with medical conditions. At petco and petsmart it seems to be mandatory (and very expensive) prior to surgery. I am the biggest worrier ever when it comes to my dogs because they truly are my babies. I feel that they are in good hands here. I would highly recommend All About Pets! read more

They said they would call me back in 2 hrs to try to squeeze us in... not even a return call! I would really like to recommend Family Friends Vet... which I had to take her to since All About Pets wouldn't even return my call!!!!! My baby was dying and they didn't even care! This vet is open 7 days a week and not only did they not charge me an emergency fee. They made a very sad situation much better. They were beyond kind without even knowing us. Gizmo had come here for most of his life including grooming and other than one bad hair cut (miss communication with my mom asking them the same only his head.. which the fixed the next day lol) all of his grooming and vet appointments were amazing. I received the sweetest card from the team and can't express how special it makes me feel that they took the time to help me through my grieving process. I took my miniature dachshund and my neighbor's Italian Greyhound to All About Pets to get neutered on October 3rd. They called us the day before our appointment to remind us about the appointment and about pre-op instructions. That was nice, since the dogs couldn't eat after 8pm the previous night. We arrived a few minutes before they opened, they promptly unlocked the doors on time. We were immediately greeted by 3 very friendly gals at the front desk. They weighed each dog, took our paperwork and cheerfully answered our questions. Our dogs are our babies, so once we left and went home we were on pins and needles all day. At 5pm we went back to pick up our dogs. We only waited about 10 minutes before they brought them both out wearing e-collars. After paying for e-collars and some pain meds, we got full after care instructions from the vet tech. She was very helpful and thorough in explaining everything. A week and a half later, I'm happy to say that both dogs did great, had no problems at all. Their stitches are healing nicely. They're both back to their normal playful selves. We had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend All About Pets to other pet owners. read more

Then, as I was standing, patiently waiting, my dog walked around the desk and sniffed a worker, who looked at him like he was annoying her. When (I won't mention name) Employee called to confirm our exam appointment I asked again for more information on sedation and I was told he would give me a call back which never happened, so when I arrived for our appointment and I restated that my cat is aggressive and may not let you examine her they proceeded to take her in the back to attempt exam. My son and I made the decision to put down my 15 rear old mixed fir baby that I had rescued 6 years previous. Since I had taken her there before, never being happy the way they pushed services on me, I decided to use them. They advertise a senior discount, but when I asked for it, after she fumbled around and said the price quoted was with the discount even though I had not told her I was a senior. I was emotionally and physically unable to take her so my son did. His experience was horrible! They immediately pushed X-rays, scans, pain medications and various other things with no promise of recovery. My son declined, but they still pursued bringing him a printed quote for him to let look over which he again declined. They did not respect that after much thought and hurt we had arrived at this decision. They were far more interested in making money. I have since found out that many residents in the senior complex in which I live have had similar experiences with them. I since have started going to VCA on Greenback and the difference is amazing. I can honestly say I was very impressed with the great customer service and warm, friendly attitude when it came to my dog. As most of you our pets are like our children so we treat them as such ... I had made an appointment for his neutering. We had great customer service up until it came time to give him the sedation medication. We had called in a few days after informing them the medication was not working (nearly 90 pound mastiff so we know not all meds work for everyone) I called on Thursday, was told I would get a callback to discuss the medication. No phone call returned on Thursday. I called in on Friday morning and spoke to the gals at the front office three different times letting me know I would get a phone call back from the doctor and not sure what happened the day prior with the follow ups but I would for sure get a phone call back. (During this time we have been not able to leave the dogs side because he's so stressed out, consistent holding and laying with him) No follow up or return call and here we are on Tuesday. I guess they just take our money and that's all. This doctor KAREN PAZZI should be ashamed to have her name on the building. A patient shouldn't have to call in 4 to 5 different times to get a response or a follow up. This veterinary should be shut down. I can't even explain how upsetting this is. We are on Tuesday now and still no one has called or followed up at all. Anyone that would leave an animal over the weekend then additional time..... that is disgusting. I will never recommend this veterinary to anyone, only stray them FAR away. Thanks for taking my $300. I want a refund for this terrible service. read more

We have been going here for over 10 years for several pets. But it has always taken forever. Today it was super annoying and the last time we will be going there. I was waiting a hour and half and he still wasn't ready. I saw other people being checked out before me. I'm sure they came in for other things but why am I being put to the side. Just like the drive through they should have timers of having people waiting. Or is just me thinking that there receptionists should be checking in on you if you are still waiting. I had my two girls waiting patiently 2 and 6 for an hour in the lobby and twenty minutes in the car of me go back and further because they said he was ready and wasn't. I had my husband take care of the transaction and of there was lost of translation because they were confused. It's very frustrating. It's supposed to be his ready and here's your dog. It wasn't the receptionist decided to take someone else ahead of instead of clearing my tab. She just got of the phone with my husband so what the hell. Why am I still waiting. And then she she smiled under her mask when I was mad she was taking someone else before. I think that is really rude. And I'm sure she doesn't have kids herself because having compassion towards another doesn't. She could have easily said ok I can cash you out. I just spoke with your husband. Is she new or is this the way it is done and no one speaks up. I'm done. Otherwise when the services is reasonable they are good. I haven't had a problem. read more
