I love Ready Pet! These folks truly care for animals and it's evident in the care we always receive. My pet is greeted by his name here and the entire staff shows him so much love. He's genuinely so happy to visit the vet even if he is getting a shot. They are always transparent about his care plan and review everything with you so there are never any surprises. They do their very best for your pet. They work with you and are so gentle and caring. They always check if I need anything and offer water while you wait. It's easy to make an appointment. NOT MY POST, but from shared from OP: Stay away from READY PET clinic on Stella Link, that is completely run by incompetent greedy people with zero compassion, zero integrity, and zero accountability. Our 6 months old rescue pup has lost her mobility due to a horribly spay surgery by READY PET Vet Clinic on STELLA LINK. They do not care. From the way they handled the whole experience, it does not seem to be the first time they hurt an animal in their care. Maisie got her spay surgery done at Ready Pet. She did not eat or want to go out the night of, which is not unusual. But the next morning, she again did not eat and collapsed when she tried to get up. Her foster mom called Ready pet and they said we could bring her in, but they will charge us for any exam (Even though its a follow up) and if they need to open her up or for any additional test, as it is not an incision check. We thought that was unethical and requested them to at least increase the painkiller dosage which was already quite less for a 40 lb dog. But they said for that we have to bring her in, and again that will cost US. Any decent and reputable vet clinic will tell us to take the dog back, and see first what's wrong - if this is not their fault, then they can charge for the exam. But Ready Pet insisted that if she enters their premise, they will require payment. Part 2: The clinic knew very well that if this was caused by a snipped nerve, then Maisie was at risk of being paralyzed for life. Yet, they did not care to show any urgency in this matter. They knew exactly how much pain Maisie was in, yet they did not have the decency to check on her!!! All they cared for was to pay more money! Maisie had to be handfed and carried outside. The sweet girl who was all playful before the surgery, was not even able to move. She lost 6 lb in 5 days Xray reports found out to be severe injury in her pelvic region, causing her to have almost dislocated hip from manhandling during spay. She had either fallen from the Operation table or her legs were tied up so tightly that the entire area was painfully swollen causing her to not be able to walk. It's now almost a month, and the sweet girl still cannot walk properly or play with her foster sisters. She only plays sitting down, as standing up is too painful for her. ReadyPet does not care. Please be careful where you get your surgeries done and how they treat your pets when you are not in the room. This clinic has zero compassion for animals. it is not acceptable that a 6 months old pup has to suffer like this and the pain she is still enduring, and it is certainly not acceptable that veterinary clinics like Ready Pet continue to operate because animals cannot tell us what happened in closed doors. read more

Complete disappointment! Will never give them business again. We brought our Rottweiler in for a cyst on his elbow. They said it just needed to be drained. So, $700 later it came back in 2 days. So, we were told he needed surgery to remove the capsule and that would fix it. Another $1000 later and now it is worse than before, it has swollen to 3 times the size it was. Also, they wanted to charge us $160.00 for antibiotics that were $30.00 at the pet pharmacy. BEWARE. If you care about your pet, do not take them there. The next morning, our dog had bloody diarrhea. This is likely from when they put the breathing tube down his throat. I wasn't going to attach photos, but I will now that it's getting even worse. The first picture is of how bad it looks now. Recently moved to the area and chose this establishment for our new vet because of the affordable/reasonable pricing. My previous vet was located inside the loop and thus had inner loop pricing e.g office visit was $50. I've seen a different vet each time I've come (2 wellness exams). Since I have not been with this practice for very long- I don't know if they have permanent vets vs. rotating locums vets. Either way, my dogs are relatively healthy, so are very straight forward. The only thing that is not cheaper than other vets is the cytopoint injection (for itching). This medication is weight based- so I was charged for each vial used. It ended up being $120 for the med ($89 at my old vet who charged by weight alone). Not a big deal, just something to note. Also, they will only fill prescription from their pharmacy, which has competitive pricing. Just another thing to make note if you usually buy heartworm/flea preventative meds from a website like chewy.com. read more

Only take your pet for shots. I've taken two sick cats, on two different occasions. One ended up dying but she was old so I didn't question their protocols (or lack of diagnosis). This past week, I took my young cat with high fever, they ran a bunch of tests, found nothing, did nothing, gave him nothing and charged me over $300. Two days later I had to rush the cat to an animal hospital, where he's in ICU. Just the facts; they never diagnose. They are a waste of money when you have a sick animal but good enough if you need shots. read more

I have been coming to Ready Pet since 2015. For years they were a low-cost vet. I have watched their pricing continue to climb out of the range of "low cost" to comparable to most average vets. Last month I had one my 3 dog's nails trimmed, and her anal glands expressed. I was charged $66 which is extremely high. I did my own research and the average cost of a nail trim in Houston and its between $7 and $20 and the average cost of a dog's anal glands expressed is between $20 and $45. The two costs on the high end comes to $65. When I asked why these services have gotten so expensive, I was told there was a "tech fee". We all know what "fee" means. Added profit. I was told they do it for a wellness check. I had this one particular dog in there about 5 weeks earlier for a checkup. I did not come in for any additional services". I called back the next day to discuss it but no one ever called me back. The girls were defensive and made me feel like I was the problem. After 8 years of coming to this vet, it's time to find a new one. read more

I absolutely loved the receptionist/assistant Stacy. I DO NOT LIKE Doctor Jay Dhami. I basically paid $9 to get his weight, which I guessed spot on. Today was my 11 week old puppies first wellness visit since we picked him up on Saturday. We haven't had him a week, but wanted to ensure we got him in good health. I wanted to ask questions since this is our first time having a pup and I wanted to get recommendations, but instead I was greeted with 3 questions and a snooty remark from the Vet. and then He just walked off. I came here with my sick dog after being in the EC the whole night and they sent me to my regular vet aka ready pet with a iv bag and all the records of the diagnostic and they want to tell me that they need to run another diagnostic on my dog they love to charge you for stuff you don't need. If you didn't know, this "vet clinic" is in a trailer in a parking lot. The main problems with this setup is that the noise travels which makes it difficult to communicate with the receptionist and that there really isn't anyplace to wait. The stairs outside get congested with patients coming in and out. The tech was the highlight of my visit because she had a good attitude and repartee with the animals. The vet did not. He was cold and rigid. He made me and especially the animals uncomfortable. He tried to shave my cat's neck without asking me! And then dared to call her "fractious"! This is the best veterinary office I've ever used (and I've been to many across the country). Not only are the prices phenomenal (an exam is $9! Seriously!), but everyone who works there is great. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. My dog loves going to Ready Pet for nail trims because they give her peanut butter :-) The office itself is nothing fancy, but that's part of how they keep their prices affordable. I've used Ready Pet for rescue dogs and now my own personal dog pretty much since they started their vision of providing low-cost care in Houston. They started in a trailer, and yea that was pretty crowded, but I was happy that sooo many people were lined up each day to care for their pets. Then they moved to a corner space in a strip center, still only two exam rooms but much more convenient than the trailer-still busy providing affordable care. NOW, they have a "proper" vet office with multiple exam rooms, a rr for clients, and some fancy do-dads like nice lighting, a big sign and all that jazz. And the prices have not gone up a DIME! The staff is always very accomodating to me and my special needs as well as my butthead boy's. I can't really hold my big guy due to bad knees, and they always come get him from the car and handle him through the process for me. He is not a fan of nail trims and puts up a clever defense with some very swift leg jerks, squiggles, etc. but they always get it done and done well with no problems. I can't say enough for Ready Pet as far as routine care like shots, nail trims, hw tests, maintenance meds and the like go. All the while, sticking to their vision of providing affordable care for Houston pets. Kudos!!!!!! read more

My one experience at Ready Pet is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a vet. I've had dogs my entire life: a variety of breeds, puppies, & rescues. My experience included a 2 hour wait (I had an appointment), a condescending vet tech (no mam, I don't fry my dogs' breakfast eggs in oil and add salt- maybe you should check your own dietary habits), a rude, unfriendly, and unknowledgeable vet who pretty much consistently tried to up-sell me for more services (low!), and a staff who apparently couldn't read my previous vet's records (after accusing me of not maintaining my dogs' care, they finally called the other vet for clarification-Ready Pet proved themselves wrong-how embarrassing!). But the worst part of the experience was when they grabbed by male dog's collar and forced him to submit to the exam after I told them he would 100% comply with a treat (GROSS mistreatment. GROSS, just gross ). I should have listened to my dogs. They knew the minute we walked in that it wasn't a good place. Oh! They also charged me for services I didn't receive. I had to go back after I left for a refund. Worst. Vet. Ever. The receptionist was nice. read more

I chose this location for our rescue because of the reviews and because they publish prices on the website. You won't be hit with an outrageous bill. The facility is unusual, but clean and well set up. The staff is so friendly, it's obvious they love animals and enjoy what they do. I also loved that they suggested a less invasive treatment for the heartworms our dog had at adoption. This will be our dogter office for a long time! read more

Please do not come here. I didn't realize that this place was just a trailer in a parking lot. I really wish I read the Yelp reviews before coming here. If you just need to get a routine vaccine, then fine, come here. But if you need some sort of *REAL* medical care, please go somewhere else. The vet looked like he hated his job and probably saw my pet for 2 minutes to administer the vaccine. It was a first time appointment for my pet, and I have had many pets before so I know the rodeo of what the questions I need to ask (I just moved to Houston, saw Ready Pet on the list of "low cost clinics"). He did not have the necessary medications in house that was needed for my pet (and it was time-sensitive too), and he was extremely rude and dismissive. He kept walking away from me as I was trying to talk to him as well. I was really uneasy by that encounter and immediately called and went to a REAL CLINIC nearby. From my encounter with this new vet, I learned that the vet literally gave me WRONG instructions for care. PLEASE. DO NOT COME HERE. read more

Just took my puppy Wilson here for help with an ear infection. The vet was awesome! They saw me instantly and began taking care of Wilson's ears. Everyone was super friendly and nice. Only gave a star because of the prices. My dog regularly has seizures and has been worse lately so they took blood to run some labs. They were supposed to call me the next day. No call so I called around noon and the lady said the doctor needs to call me and go over the results which is fine, I used to be a vet tech so I understand how it works. But then I get no call and at 4pm I realized they closed at 2 so I never got the call. Fast forward to today I still haven't gotten the call, an email with his results, or nothing, and every time I try to call the office it's going directly to voicemail even though it's open today. My baby is slowly killing his brain cells and they can't even bother to answer the phone or call me back lol so no, I won't be coming back once I get his medicine or some answers from them. read more

Not as good as to other low cost vet clinic. Took my dogs there for yearly shots and eye check up. They forgot to give them shots and gave my dog tons of medications for eye issues. The cost was just as much as Pet Vet. I am better at Pet Vet. Doctor came in late and they didn't even have all the meds. i brought home 5 bottles of meds for eye infection. Cost was over 300.00 dollars and no annual shots for any dogs. i went to another location and got the annual shots and dental cleaning for a better price. Doctor also said both of my dogs could be diabetic and needed a blood test - no other vet have ever mentioned this and required this for dental cleaning.. So i paid more for blood work...i will never go back. Waste of time and money.... read more
