Josh was extremely accommodating, often moving sessions back an hour if I was working a bit later that day with only an hour or so notice. His process throughout our time together was great. We started with covering basics of the three topics, which I definitely needed, and narrowed down to individual problem types as the sessions moved on. I always left those sessions hoping to see those problem types on the test. Truly would turn weak spots into strengths of mine. Seeing the progress reflected in practice test scores was great and happened quickly. I couldn't recommend Manhattan Prep and Josh enough.

I cannot say enough good things about Nataliya, as a person and as an educator. Her work with my…read moreson was outstanding, helping him prep for the ACT. He did very, very well on the exam, and I give much of the credit to Nataliya (the rest of credit goes to my son, who worked very hard!). Going into this, we had reason for deep concern about his prospects. Well, we got the scores yesterday and they are outstanding. Thank you, Nataliya! On a personal level, Nataliya worked wonderfully with him. She is incredibly patient, and seems to have great instincts for how to work with different children. She worked with my daughter as well, just not as much, and clearly tailored her presentation to the nature of the child she was working with. (It bears mentioning that my son has some learning issues, which she clearly grasped and adapted to very effectively.) From a practical perspective, the virtual tutoring worked exceptionally well for my son. His generation is often more inclined to interact with others online than in person, and that is especially true for him. The flexibility afforded by the remote sessions was terrific - weekends in particular - making it much easier for him to keep up with, and follow through on, the lessons. I would enthusiastically recommend Nataliya to any student searching for help with the challenges of navigating today's high school workload!

I am so grateful to have found Brian and to have had numerous intensive lessons with him before the exam. I have been teaching for a long time myself, and I can say first hand that Brian is an amazing teacher. Not only was he attentive to my specific mathematical needs, I could also tell he was very invested in wanting me to do well. Brian never made me feel like anything was too difficult or unattainable. He explained all my questions in depth and was always very concerned with making sure I understood everything. Even if that meant going over it again...and again. Brian helped me make diagrams for a statistics research project I was working on as part of my degree in Psychology. I was later asked to present that project at a honors convention my college was hosting. I am sure that his elaborate graphs/diagrams and extensive knowledge in statistics which he imparted contributed to that. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, fluent in every math concept known to man, enthusiastic, patient, efficient, eloquent and kind tutor--look no further. Brian was so instrumental to my success on the GREs and in boosting my confidence. I never thought I would be able to comprehend half the concepts I did. I strongly recommend Elite Ivy Tutors and Brian if you are looking to invest in a tutor. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job.

Well, the short answer is, look no further. You have found them right here. I hesitated for quite a while to find a tutor for my daughter. She is a great student but lacked confidence in math. Starting her freshman year at an academically challenging high school on Zoom was finally what pushed me to seek outside help. She was doing well but still felt like she didn't really "get it". I was looking for the lightbulb to switch on and Alexander Tutoring is doing just that. They believe, as I do, that math is doable and is not impossible. The key is confidence. They believe there is often a "moment" where a normally confident kid suddenly feels like they "can't do math". A bad grade, a bad teacher, and an embarrassing moment. They work to undo that in a supportive, constructive environment. They are well priced, extremely flexible, and have a large enough staff so your kid can find the tutor with whom they jive. They have been doing remote before the pandemic and have it down to a science. And it's one on one tutoring. We love this program and am so happy we found them!

Over six or seven years, we've used an equal number of tutors. Owner Kate Pritchard was extremely responsive and did a good job matching my daughters' challenges with a tutor (usually college aged or recently graduated from college) who had absolute mastery of the subject. Only on one occasion did we ask for a rematch. Bee Tutored sent over a replacement tutor the following week -- and we continue to use him 16 months later for my daughter, a senior at Brooklyn Tech. We credit the work of Bee Tutored during middle school, along with SHSAT prep classes, with helping my youngest gain admission to one of the specialized high schools, Brooklyn Tech. Had the Bee Tutored tutoring center opened several years ago, we would have availed ourselves to their SAT and ACT college test prep, which our girls took at Kaplan. They found Kaplan sterile and uninspiring, not to mention disorganized. Test grades were often not posted on time and classes were canceled without advance notice. My oldest daughter saw no improvement in her score from PSAT to SAT, even after taking the Kaplan course twice. Bee Tutored is the antithesis of for-profit, corporate tutoring mills like Huntington, Sylvan, Kaplan and Princeton Review. Anytime I have wanted to speak with the owner, Kate, I reached her via email and phone. She takes pride in her business and the success of kids receiving tutoring from Bee Tutored. As a longtime customer of the business, I attended the open house for the new tutoring center and met the Scratch computer programming tutor and the SHSAT prep tutor. They were just like the young adults that have mentored my kids over the years -- bright, warm and eager to teach. I recommend Bee Tutored to any parent who doesn't have the time and/or skills to help his or her kid with homework and test prep. They've come through for me over many years and I have two smart, confident daughters to show for it.

My performance on the September LSAT was 15 points higher than my initial diagnostic. I'm pretty impressed with this improvement, as I honestly was not studying very much outside of our sessions (not that I would recommend that, it's just what I did!). Larkin's teaching methods are holistic, and they focus on increasing your critical thinking skills rather than just rote memorization. This was helpful for me because it allows for a more relaxed approach, where you can sit back and trust your skills rather than just hope that some specific type of problem appears on the exam. Also, increasing my critical thinking skills positively impacted other areas of my life, which made studying for the LSAT seem less like some annoying hoop that I had to jump through. I really appreciated that Larkin tailored his approach to me as an individual--he made every effort to determine why I specifically was missing certain problems and figure out exactly where I went wrong, rather than just offer a cookie-cutter explanation or tell me how he would have done it. Totally different than any material you can get from a book or online course. Larkin is also adept at the coaching side of things (ie how the LSAT impacts you psychologically). If you've spent any time at all studying for the LSAT, you will be familiar with the roller coaster of emotions that it can elicit. Larkin never made me feel dumb and was very encouraging throughout the whole process. Larkin has been able to make this into a career because he's really, really good at it! Worth the investment!

I cannot recommend them highly enough. Going back to high school, I had a terrific experience working with Advantage on my college entrance exams. Even though I hated studying in school, I genuinely enjoyed working with AT's teachers. Aside from being gifted instructors, they are some of the friendliest people you'll meet, and they seem to genuinely care about their students. I remember they customized a study plan for me, focusing on the areas of the test that I needed to improve the most. Following their plan, and using the strategies I learned in class, I earned a 760 Verbal, 750 Math I, 790 Writing, and an 800 Math II, all a significant boost above my diagnostic scores (which I recall being in the low ~600 range). Years later, when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer, and began looking for the right LSAT test prep service, turning to Advantage was a no-brainer. On my first LSAT practice test, I received a diagnostic evaluation in the 55th percentile. I knew that I would need a significant (aka Elle Woods-level) jump in my LSAT score to have a decent shot at the top schools. That's when Advantage came in. Studying with Advantage tutors, you learn to break down each section of the test into a set of consistent techniques, which you hone and solidify over repeated practice tests. After months of test prep, I took the LSAT and scored a 99th percentile on the official exam. Equipped with a great LSAT score, I was admitted to my top choice for law school, a feat that had seemed impossible only a few months prior. Now, as a practicing attorney looking back on it, I am certain I would not have been nearly as well prepared with any other test prep service. In sum, I don't think there is anyone as professional or effective as Advantage when it comes to the hard work of preparing for high-stakes entrance exams. I recommend them without hesitation.
