After seeing the incredible job he did painting the walls of our development, we asked for a bid to paint our house. Best decision ever! Kenny's team doesn't just paint houses--he elevates them. Their attention to detail, work ethic, and top-notch execution are something you don't see every day. And Kenny brings an "elite" philosophy that goes way beyond slapping on a coat of paint. He power-washed our patio, washed our windows (yes, really), painted our wrought iron gates, painted our security door, and even painted our pergola and built-in grill pedestal--all included, no extra charge. Honestly, if I were a local painter, I'd be taking notes (or maybe trying to hire him). His bid was slightly higher than others, but when you factor in the bonus work and the kind of craftsmanship you wish every contractor brought to the table, it was a bargain. We're already counting down to monsoon season--because that's when he'll be back to do our roof. Yes, we're officially Bishoff fans.

When we opened our backsplash tile boxes 19 of the 72 pretty good sized tiles looked to have an irregular lacy pattern. Well if that's the norm then maybe we should have been shown the original tile with its possible variation. Now we have to modify our backsplash plans and have the "variation " tiles removed by our contractor, modify our backsplash plans and throw away a $125 box of "variation " tiles. Not happy! There were many problems with…read moreworkmanship in the interior, including areas where they painted over dust, drywall finishing issues, paint smears on the floors, cracked or damaged woodwork, cracked/missing grout, etc.; we've purchased new homes before and this didn't feel like one. To their credit, RL Workman has been responsive in patching many of these issues, though it still doesn't look like a new house since that would require modeling rather than patching. For other issues, they've been very obstinate, as if they hoped to wear us down rather than doing the right thing. Over the course of living in the house for six months, we've come to realize that the design is not great: the laundry room is tiny, but there's a pointlessly wide hallway on the other side of the wall; the door from the garage opens into the laundry room, which makes 1/4 of the room unusable; the A/C is right next to one bedroom window making it impossible to sleep there; outlets and wall switches aren't conveniently placed (in some cases, we can't hang artwork because there's a switch in the middle of a wall!); the shower stall in the master bedroom is beyond low-end; there's nothing dividing the master suite into sections, so the bathroom and sleeping area are just one big room; the door to the master bedroom is in the middle of the dining room; the outside lighting fixtures create unnecessary glare and light pollution, ruining the feel of the neighborhood.
